I did like those ideas! If we’re going to be truthful, the Catholic Church had the 7 book, but in the Reformation the Protestants took them out. (Basically because the passages contradicted them or promoted the Catholic Church) Also the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I also love having miscellaneous Saint books to help motivate me to live my Faith :) God bless you and your family!
Hello my name is roxana ,i pray my rosary everyday . I just want to join you and pray the rosary but , i don't know what's time you pray the rosary., so do you have a time ? I am you praying for my daughter and my son they don't care pretty much nothing about rosary, especially my daughter, i wish my daughter be like you. So i am so sad, sad, please help me bring my daughter to mama mary and her son jesus. Thanks
Thank you so much for your channel! I was not born Catholic. By God's grace & mercy He led me to the Catholic Church. For the first time in my life I actually have a home. Your channel helps me learn my new " culture," as it were.
My daughter was watching this with me and she is now planning a dinner with our priest. She wants to cook the dinner and invite him over to bless our house! She us so excited!!
In India, Holy Water is distributed to the congregation at Easter. The parish priests would visit the homes and bless them. But, (sadly, in my opinion) nowadays we are given a house blessing prayer and ofcourse the Holy Water, and are asked to bless our own homes. The head of the family is asked to lead the prayer. But if you specifically invite the priest he does come and bless the home, any time, not only after Easter. Most catholic homes also have an altar where either a picture of Jesus or the Crucifix is placed. It is given pride of place in the home.
I used to be very fearful in my apartment, until I decided to get some holy water and sprinkle it around while praying. I also try to pray the rosary before falling asleep. I feel more peaceful and very seldom feel fearful now 😊 Your channel is really lovely, thank you for your thoughtful and well informed videos 💞
Yes, Every Catholic house hold should have those 5 things. 1. Holy Water 2. A Crucifix 3. A Holy Rosary. 4. Picture of the Divine mercy image of Jesus. 5. Picture of the Virgin Mary. But other things such as a statue of your Patron Saint. Take mine for example, Saint Michael the Archangel. And invite your Catholic Priest for a house blessing.
I would add to this list a Catholic Bible. Which is the word of God there are many translations pick one that you can understand and not written in old English.
I was a Protestant but I’ve been attending mass, and have beautiful catholic relics decorated in my room and ever since then, it’s like i magically became super clean and organized and my room is always spotless
In Poland we have the tradition that in the time after Christmas up until the beginning of February we invite our parish priests to our home to bless it (so ideally each home is getting blessed once a year). We also sing some Christmas songs and have a meal together. Originally it was even so that the priest announced a day, when he will be moving around and blessing the houses and then the people could prepare for it 😊 Thank you so much for your amazing content, Heather! I really would like to have some more holy pictures in my room, but I also would like to keep some kind of "aesthetic" and sometimes the colours in the pictures just do not work well with each other... I hope founding a solution soon 😊
I just went on the Catholic store you have with the discount code and got everything you suggested. Me and the kids just started praying the Rosary in my bed but I really want an alter. Thank you I’m so happy for my family!
I love that you brought this to RUclips! I’ve had the flu this week, and my youngest hopped up on the counter to reach the Holy water, blessed me and prayed for my healing.💕
I’ve never really had anyone else to share my catholic views with so it’s really nice to come to this channel and this comments section. Thanks so much!!!!
Very good advice. We modeled our altar from what is very topical in southern Spain. We pray as a family every time possible when we are not working ( Both my wife and I work in nursing on night shift) and my son is off school. We still pray the rosary at least once a day minimum.
That is still typical in Filipino Catholic homes. We also have images of saints on our altars and, where space permits for those who have gardens, a grotto for the Virgen de Lourdes.
Because I watched your channel, I became interested in the Divine Mercy Chaplet and prayed almost everyday in Lent. Thank you for following your calling. Yep I have that bible.
This video was in my feed today! Great reminders to keep the faith foremost in our lives! I put a Divine Mercy picture in the front door window. I get blessed candles from the altar at church when they're ready to change them. I keep a scapular over my bed. And, don't forget to put flowers by your picture/statue of Our Blessed Mother. Bless you - you're a lovely testimony of what a godly woman should be!
One thing I have noticed is the holy water fonts sold for homes tend to soak up the holy water. I used poly acrylic to seal mine and now my holy water does not disappear. One thing as a new convert I was taught was to have a prayer table/altar because it is important to make our homes the domestic church. Also to have a little area outside of the home like a bench outside with a statue of Mary or Jesus to sit outside to have prayer time.
Thank you for this video. My family stopped going to the church when I was a child. So now as an adult your videos have help me so much with delving more into my faith and how to have my home centered in Christ.
OMG, I'm travelling back in time here! In Holland, these things you mention would still be pretty regular in the early sixties. But now we are completely modernized and stripped of all these rituals. So sweet you bring back my early childhood memories!
You are so adorable (in a good way) and brave, it takes guts to let people know about your faith in this day and age but you even post it on internet wow you are very inspirational to me this is how all catholics should be, unapologetic for believing and knowing the TRUTH. Im just letting you know that these videos do inspire people whether thats your intention or not i love it! Keep making these videos, your faith and love and the holy spirit shine through you, i wish a lot more women were like you Sorry if this was a bit long but we should encourage and love each other :) Also ignore the trolls, unfortunately its trendy and fashionable to criticize the Catholic church nowadays while knowing absolutely nothing about it
I think your video topic is great! God Bless you and your ministry to speak and teach the Word of God in a world where His teachings are so desperately needed.🙏💗
Let me add something here, Catholic Mom. I suggest to build An Altar at home where you can put all your sacramentals there including your Holy bible. It would be good if the Bible stand will be built in glass or wood and glass so you can see through it. You can invite your Catholic neighbors there for a BEC(BASIC ECCLESIAL COMMUNITY). BEC here in our country, the Philippines is very much alive. It composed of at least 12 members/family which represents the Church founded by Christ through His disciples. In this way, you will be establishing a strong bond of brotherhood to your fellow Catholics there and one of which is the sharing of foods. The members will take turn in hosting the prayer meeting(BEC) and will prepare for the foods and will be shared right after the prayer. Simple foods will do like snacks- sandwiches, juice or fruits. Do not forget to ask somebody to bring guitar for the songs if a portable keyboard is not available. The important thing there is you have expressed faith along with the small community. GOD BLESS! BY THE WAY, CATHOLIC MOM. DO NOT FORGET TO PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH.
Thank you Heather for this lovely session and sharing these wonderful ideas and gifts with us. Today, I followed your mum's tradition and for the first time, I blessed rooms of our house with the holy water I bought many years ago at one of the catholic retreat places in northern Italy. Wishing you and your family all the best and lots of blessings 😇👼❤️
I think the Bible and the catechism are two things a Catholic home should have. We need more Catholics to really learn the faith properly. Also you don’t need altars, crucifixes, or statues to revere God in your home, or to make your home more Catholic. This may not be exciting to read, but keep going. I’ve talked about this with my priest, and I have a background in Judaism, I studied it thoroughly, and the one thing I took from our brothers is this…God is a oneness we can’t understand, but we must always strive to have Him present in our hearts, minds, and souls. The one thing for sure that should be in every Catholic home are hearts for God. Love him dearly and your home will emanate God’s peace.
A little off topic, but can you do a video on modest fashion? I'm refreshing my wardrobe with simple modest pieces, but there are some pieces I just love but am not sure they are modest enough! E.g.- long sleeve shirts that show shoulders. And date outfits
Outermost_Owl yes!! I would love this!! Before knowing God I used to dress very immodestly and now I wear long skirts anytime I'm not at work and always cover up from wrists down to my ankles/shoes at church. I even wear a head covering in mass. My fiance says he finds my modesty even more attractive than the revealing outfits I wore when we first started dating.
I wear long skirts to church now , and I try not to wear form fitting clothes. As I grow closer to God I want to please him and immodesty is a sin. My neckline has also come way up. I love it. People actually look at me differently in a good way. God will tell you what is right we just have to listen and obey. Good luck and God bless you. We Can make a difference. Let's bring back the real Christian women God wants us to be.
I think Pope Pius X wrote on this. I think neck line shouldnt go below or maybe 2 finger width below where the colar bone joins. Sleeves minimum just above elbow and skirt minimum should cover knees. This is more sun smart too! In mass you should wear a chapel veil over your hair white for virgin/unmarried darker colour generally black or navy for married. ☺
Awe your little boy is so cute, he’s “Who is mum talking to???” Thank you much for this video. Pictures of Jesus don’t go over well for my son, but hoping he learns to understand why we have them.
Sacramentals: Blessed Crucifixes, Blessed Rosaries, Scapulars of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Blessed Religious Images, Holy Medals, Holy Water, Holy Salt, Blessed Liturgical Candles, Blessed Statues of Saints, Blessed Palm Leaves, and the Douay Rheims Bible. An altar with a Statue of the Sacred Heart properly displayed. Statues: St Joseph, Our Lady, Saint Micheal the Archangel. P.S. The Sign of the Cross is also a Sacramental. Every Catholic should learn to do it properly and reverently.
We have in our house Sacred Heart of Jesus! tons of Jesus and Mary statues! Holy water! Bibles!crucifix! so many rosaries! An altar table with infant Jesus! Catechism books! And even saints pictures💙! There is no room I could hide from them... Im always watched 😂 But I wish to have an image of DIVINE MERCY😇! I guess I should thank God for making me born as a Catholic in a good family.. Without which I'm sure I would have gone stray... Your vdo made me realize how blessed I am.. How good I am exposed to these small small things that we simply choose to ignore.. Thank you... May your work please our God Almighty 💙✌️
LOVE this video- so glad I found you!! Such excellent suggestions. The only thing I would add is blessed salt- and it’s always great to find a priest that can bless it in the old Latin form. I sprinkle it around my house and cook with it- especially when family or friends who have fallen away come to eat 😂 God Bless! Jill
We've slowly been collecting crucifixes and we aren't quite up to one per room, but that's my goal! And this is a really good reminder that we need to have our home blessed. We have with past homes, but we haven't with this one (it's really rural and far from our parish but I really want to have it done ASAP!). Thanks for another great post! These are such good recommendations!
I would also recommend other Catholic publications. Catholic Digest magazine is wonderful as are books about the saints lives for inspiration. Thank you for having this channel.
I enjoy watching what you have to share of God and Lady Mary. This is something that gives peace to my soul, heart and senses. And more happily is that l learn more English in such wonderful way when God is in between. Hugs and greetings from Costa Rica. God bless you and your family as well..🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your video your so beautiful and your little boy is beautiful godbless you both i love watching your videos I've ready starting taking most of your advise and I feel so good praise God 🙌 also I suffer from depression and I was feeling a lot worse not knowing what my vocation was since watching your videos I've been guilt free and am feeling so happy about taking care of my husband and kids 😊 godbless you 😊 ❤️
Very helpful! Truly appreciate all your videos. My family has always been Catholic and your videos provide valuable advice on how to practice and increase our FAITH. May Jesus and the Holy Virgin Mary bless you and your family forever! AMEN!
I'd like to have a statue of Our Lady in our garden... thank you for your video - I've just subscribed and will check out your other videos! Bless you!
Dear Heather, I just wrote a comment, and I can’t find it. Anyway, thank u for all the info. Some stuff, u mentioned, I have it in my home. It made me feel great. Thanks again. Ur son is adorable, God bless him. 🙏👏❤️👍🌟✝️💫🍂🌻🐿🍁
Amazing sacramentals would be the Divine Mercy image and the Sacred Heart image, as mentioned, but also image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the image of the Holy Family, and also St. Benedict medals. You can get really creative with these beautiful gifts.
john disalvo Icons are not idols. They remind us to pray and to desire a life that follows after Christ; they draw us closer to God. Catholics do not worship icons; they are tools to help us live a Christian life and always focus on God.
YOU’RE AN AMAZING CHILD OF OUR LORD! You’re a blessing in our lives! Thank you my Lord and my God! Mama Mary thank you. Holy Trinity THANK YOU!!! God bless you and protect you and your family in The Divine Will ♥️🕊✝️
Hi, I like what your Mom and spray and bless each room every month. I would practise that, bless each room. I do have Holy Water, a Crucifix , Rosaries and Bible. But I will get a few candles blessed.
A little personal and off topic but could you make a video about newcomers coming into the church. Specifically atheist conversion. I've lived most of my life as an atheist and have recently started questioning the existence of God. Haven't fully committed myself to Him but went to mass for the first time last night. Purchased a catechism and Catholic bible but am lost after that. Thanks
Kjaye 27 Good for you!!! 😄👍 May the Lord continue to work in your heart and mind! I was raised atheist, and converted 5 years ago, as an adult (I’m in my 50s). It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, I believe! Just give yourself time, and may I suggest finding an RCIA class. It was SO valuable for me to learn about Catholicism, and to have many, many questions answered by knowledgeable, wise, compassionate people-our deacon, his wife, and once in a while, our priest.
Sign up for RCIA through a local Catholic church- one you feel drawn to (that's the Holy Spirit leading the way). I recently came into the Catholic church in 2016 and attended the RCIA. They really helped me understand God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Catholic faith. Highly recommended!
@@ACatholicMomsLife Hi, yes thank you so much for checking in! I entered RCIA last year and will be confirmed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, it's so crazy to see my comment from almost a year ago to now!
I really liked this. A couple of our crucifixes have come down for various reasons and this was a good reminder to get those back up on the walls. I think a statue of Mary our Mother is a great addition to any home. I also love to get my kids small saint statues for their room.
if I have not been to a Catholic church for many years would it be better to wait until I do a confession before asking the priest to bless rosaries/crucifixes/ etc?
Pray the Holy Rosary. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
I have a home altar, my crucifix, holy water, image of Christ, and tons of other things in the home. Reminds me to always think of God before all else. Btw, I love your crucifix, is where can I get one like it? ❤️ Thanks Heather for the video, loved it!
Every Catholic home should have a catechism! And I agree on the sacred heart. We have icons of the Sacred and Immaculate hearts on our mantelpiece and they are great reminders of the love of Christ and Our Lady.
God bless you, dear Heather, for all the info. I feel good, for few things u mentioned, I have it , in our home. Thank u. Ur son is adorable. God bless him. 🙏❤️👏👍🌟✝️💫🌻🐿🍂🍁
my dad room had jesus pictue , dinning room has a small altar and mother mary picture , and me and myssisters room we have mother mary - jesus pic with my mom pic and holy water candle .
statues or pictures of Mary and of the saints. Prayer books and catholic hymnal to sing songs during family prayer time. a prayer box to add prayer requests to be prayed during family prayer time. And my personal favorite Laudate App on phone. Offers many Catholic prayers, examinations, readings for the day, saint for the day right at your fingertips.
Thank you so much for this video. I have a friend that wants so much to become Catholic. So difficult now days with the pandemic. She bought a Bible and has been given so medals. I am not sure if truly Catholic (she lives in Oregon so I can’t see what she’s actually been given.) I do explain that the Bible that she does did just buy is not a Catholic Bible and that there’s lots of books that have been removed from it so she’s going to get a new one and she wasn’t really sure which one to get. She’s also had strange things going on in her house like blood appears in the kitchen and then disappears and appears she did some history on the house and evidently there was a murder committed in that house. So thank you so much because I’m sending her a link to this video and I’m hoping she’ll watch it a couple times and definitely up and tell you to get the house blessed, or even have a exorcists in there if she can get a hold of a priest
Thank you so much for sharing. I'm thinking for, the right place to put my altar in my new house, (still under construction). My plan is to make my altar on the second floor by the door to go up and go down. I already have some religious articles I can place on my altar, but my problem is, due to pandemic I can't go home yet to do my altar. I pray that this covid19 will end now. God bless us all.

Awwwwwww you have done a great job.
The catechism of the Catholic Church is also very good to have!
An absolute must.
And a good one Bishop Schneider recommends Council of Trent Catechism as it is very clear and unambiguous
It is touched by God and is very very biblical and gets us closer to God. Amen🙏
Aww I wish I could get one
The Catechism of Pope St Pius X is also excellent for laypeople.
To have a Catechism, this is also very important, it explains so clear why we believe what we believe.
here in the Philippines, all Catholic homes have an altar,
Yeah we have a mini one inside our home. We have Our Lady of Manaoag. And of course a replica of the Black Nazarene.
Omg this could never be further from the truth hahahahah😆
Your faith is EXTREMELY encouraging! Wow! I'm protestant but I feel Christ would be moved by your faith! Huaah!!!

God bless you sister. ❤️❤️❤️
I had my house blessed and since I live alone now am elderly and disabled it was a great boost to my confidence.x
Thanks God bless you and family have a holy weekend

The catechism too! By the way, I would say that the Catholic Bible has ALL the books and not extra books. Thanks for the video.
This is really a good soul of Catholic. God will always bless n ur family members
God bless you and your family 🙏🌿✝️💐
We have in our house Sacred Heart of Jesus! tons of Jesus and Mary statues! Holy water! Bibles!crucifix! so many rosaries! An altar table with infant Jesus! Catechism books! And even saints pictures💙!
There is no room I could hide from them... Im always watched 😂
But I wish to have an image of DIVINE MERCY😇!
Wow 😍
Coffee and Cupcakes I got two in my room and I would love to have one in every room just like you.
I would also recommend other Catholic publications. Catholic Digest magazine is wonderful as are books about the saints lives for inspiration. Thank you for having this channel.
Great ideas have a beautiful font near my front door! Love the spider story, lol.
i am not a catholic but a christian home as much as possible should have
love
health
happiness
GOD
thease are the main values any home should have
Amen
You can also carry a small vial of holy water with you in your handbag or pocket for a gentleman. Blessings upon you for this channel!
I enjoy watching what you have to share of God and Lady Mary. This is something that gives peace to my soul, heart and senses. And more happily is that l learn more English in such wonderful way when God is in between.
Hugs and greetings from Costa Rica.
God bless you and your family as well..🙏🙏🙏
Thank you. Jesus loves us all .thank you for sharing this to us.
Oh my goodness I do that! (Dousing the house with holy water)! 😂 I thought it was weird but maybe I’m just listening to my mama intuition 😂

It would be nice to have Blessed Salt too, Heather. Thanks so much 😇 for the inspiration you give 🙂
Great video. we love having icons in every room ❤️
john disalvo Icons are not idols. They remind us to pray and to desire a life that follows after Christ; they draw us closer to God. Catholics do not worship icons; they are tools to help us live a Christian life and always focus on God.
John disallow is a protestant troll!
How are you doing? Did you become Catholic? Or find what you were looking for😊
@@ACatholicMomsLife Hi, yes thank you so much for checking in! I entered RCIA last year and will be confirmed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, it's so crazy to see my comment from almost a year ago to now!
Kjaye 27 Welcome Home! I will be praying for you this Easter Vigil. God bless you! 🤗
Having a Blessed Divine Mercy picture in home.
I have Blessed candles from Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas).
I really liked this. A couple of our crucifixes have come down for various reasons and this was a good reminder to get those back up on the walls. I think a statue of Mary our Mother is a great addition to any home. I also love to get my kids small saint statues for their room.
Very helpful
if I have not been to a Catholic church for many years would it be better to wait until I do a confession before asking the priest to bless rosaries/crucifixes/ etc?
MaTaylie Beganovic no need to wait😊 anyone can ask for there items to be blessed😁
Thank you 🙏
Pray the Holy Rosary.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Loved this! Thank you.
Thanks for make this video 💖💖💖🙏😘😊
You are such a blessing!!!
God bless you, dear Heather, for all the info.

Great video Heather!! As Mark Hart says, " Our house looks like a Catholic bookstore vomited everywhere !"😂😂😂
Holy oil and holy salt are also Catholic must haves.
Love the video! Still working on a few things. and tell little man hi for me please! He's a cutie!
statues or pictures of Mary and of the saints.
Thank you so much.... It's rare idea ppl share... Congratulations and thumbs up for your Goodness... Hod bless you n ur fly mam...
Thank u
Thanks very much am a Catholic but didn't know abt all these things
I LOVED this!!
