Thank you for the many mentions of not adding too much flour. I know how easy I forget things so it helps! This stretch and fold treatment of the dough seems such a lovely enjoyable quiet process. Its such a pleasure handling lovely silky bread dough.
Looks delicious. This collab has been so fun seeing what everyone is doing with sourdough. I’m really inspired. Thank you for sharing. I like the name. Lucy
It's supposed to be rainy here this weekend, so a sourdough boule will be the perfect side for the fall inspired dishes I'm thinking of making! I also love taking all the different ideas and techniques and melding them together to see what works best for me.
Oh Julie what a great video!!!!!!!!!!! Outstandingly done, you didn't rush us and you shared what went well and most importantly what didn't go perfectly. I learned so much from you today, thank you.
Thanks for showing us what you have learned along the way in your sourdough adventure! I am picking up little gems of wisdom from watching this series.
Like I commented on Anna's live the other evening watching all these Videos makes me feel better about my flops. I've had some doozies but I keep trying.
After watching this series of videos, I'm thinking that my "failed attempts" may not have been failed attempts. I just never understood "discard". Thanks for your contribution to this series.
Making Artisan Sourdough bread is time consuming, but so fun to do! Every time I make it, I amaze myself and feel like a real bread maker! 😂 Thank you so much for sharing!!
I love making sourdough boules - one thing I do to change it up every now and then is to do “add-ins”. I like to add in things like blueberries or chocolate chips or butterscotch chips…whatever your heart desires! 🥰
Your tips and comments really help. I've made a boule that didn't rise like yours but it still had a nice flavor and we really liked the taste. Thank you for your expertise.
So many good tips in this video! I’ve been trying to teach myself to make these this year, and my dough never looked that soft and silky. I didn’t realize it needed quite that many stretches and folds. You’ve definitely inspired me to give it another go.
I'm really liking this sourdough collab. I need to get one of those Dutch wisk. I love the taste of sourdough bread. Thanks for sharing your bread with us it really looks nice. Blessings.
I’m learning so much from this collaboration! All your explanations are so helpful. I have that dough whisk but I forget I have it and don’t end up using it. Looks delicious!
I baked the bread last night and it was absolutely fabulous! It wasn't hard like rip your mouth up crusty, but had a fantastic chew. Definitely a keeper. Thank you for teaching this recipe!
My oldest daughter loves sourdough bread. I am enjoying this collaboration so much. I remembered while watching your video that this is how we met 😊. Through one of Ms. Anna’s collaborations (Fermented February). Loved the tips and tricks you gave us. Thank you for sharing them.
Thanks for this video! I really appreciated watching you use the Banneton because I was never sure I was using it properly. Mine ALWAYS stuck and I pulled the air out trying to get the dough out. I think I didn't flour it enough, so watching you was really helpful! That loaf of bread looked delicious! Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing this recipe and your experience with sour dough. ALso, for being a part of this collabaration. I hope to start my sourdough experience soon. Be safe and stay well, Catherine
I have never been confident enough to try making sourdough. But watching all the different channels, I may try it. Your bread is beautiful and looks delicious 😋 Thanks for sharing!
Dusting with rice flour in the basket is a game changer. The dough doesn’t stick. I thought why not AP flour but rice flour does the trick after many sticky fails
Hey sweetie I'm a new subscriber and I just wanted to say that I am a huge fan of your content and wonderful videos you are a true inspiration a wonderful role model also I suffer from thyroid disease and seeing how u do things to help with your thyroid has helped me out so much thank you sending you lots of blessings to you and your beautiful family ❤️🙏
Over time I’ve been learning about making sourdough bread. Thank you for explaining some things in a way that helped me understated some “why’s” of things that I hadn’t understood before. The bread looks delicious. BLT’s are one of our favorites. Can’t wait to try that on sourdough. Have a wonderful day! 💕~Cheryl~💕
So much info in this video, I'm going to have to rewatch it! Thank you! I am a beginner and get confused with everyone doing things differently. Guess I have to see what works for me and continue with that.
My sourdough starter is several yrs old-I’m sure I named it but for the life of me I can’t remember🤷♀️🤦🏻♀️🤪 Perhaps I’ll give it a renaming ceremony when I transfer it to a clean jar next time😜
Hello Julie! Brand new to your channel from Anna's channel and the collab! I am so excited to find your channel!! Thank you for all the tips and tricks!!
Great video! I have been making it for about a year now, and each time it is slightly different. I liked your tip of adding a small amount of flour when you do the stretch and folds. I will try that next time. Also mixing the wet ingredients together sounds less messy than what I have been doing.
That's a nice looking loaf of bread! I wonder if it might have been better to let it rise on the counter overnight, since the house was fairly cool. It might have also been the fact that you had to wrestle it out of the basket which probably deflated it a bit, too. But, it still looked like it came out pretty good! Thanks for the tips & tricks of using sourdough!
How about Mabel! She’s a hard working lady! 😂😂. I honestly don’t understand the naming of the starter. Your bread looks amazing. My starter is still maturing. I decided to use einkorn flour and takes longer. Made discarded waffles this morning from Freedom Homestead and excellent.
This was a great video! You're a very natural teacher. I can't wait to try this with some soup
Julie, you make us feel like we’re in the kitchen with you. Your videos are so warm and welcoming. Tanks for sharing all the great tips.
