- There is one thing not secret about me is that I am very scared of crawling animals and snakes are on top of that list. While being in Sri Lanka I wanted to get more comfortable with the fact we are living on the same island and probably they are a few meters away from me most of the time.
There is a term called "exposure therapy" when you expose yourself to the things you are scared of to overcome that fear and to be more comfortable with it. I learned about this snake farm in Sri Lanka and rented a scooter and just went for it. No surprise I was terrified of the fact being on the farm itself before I even saw the snakes.
Seeing cobras up close and also being able to touch phyton was a great experience. I cannot say I love snakes now but definitely learned a lot. This type of farm experience costs you only $5. And, those animals are not there just for a business. Normally they are rescued from people's houses and been taken care of on the farm and later released to nature.

Davud you did great handling those snakes! My daughters had me buy a Ball Python for their birthday. We absolutely love her to pieces. You getting to see cobras up close like that is actually something many will never experience. Even us that love snakes. I hope you found a new respect for snakes, and that they will leave you alone if you leave them alone.

As a Sri Lankan, i have respect for Cobras. They are such majestic beasts. But I would never get that close to a one. Also, poisonous or not, I cant hold them in my hand. I am satisfied with admiring them from afar. Also, those cobras are HUGE

The lat one is spectacle cobra, by the mark on his head, cobras are very angry & highly venomous.... He was wrong when he said a person can survive for 8 hrs without treatment it's neurotoxic & action starts within 1/2 a hour.....

Davud, Breathtaking video of the snake farm and 'Exposure Therapy'. I had goose bumps on my arms all the time. Beautiful creatures but unpredictable. The Cobra is beautiful. Vijay was a obliging man and enjoys what he does. Vijaya was a king of Sri Lanka around 500 BC. This Vijaya is the King of the Snakes. Did you know that the Mongoose is the enemy of snakes. Mano.

Me and our friends catched a cobra in a friend's house. And we went to this farm to give the snake to them. But Last year it was closed 🙂
