    What makes airplane faster than cars

    • @ScienceforCommonman
      @ScienceforCommonman  Год назад

      In a car, tyres are always in contact with ground. Weight of the car is reacted at the tyres, and rolling of tyres produce forward friction force due this contact force, and this drives the car. As speed increases, friction, heating of tyre and associated problems with stability increases.
      An aircraft is not in contact with ground. It floats over air, reducing friction, in comparison to ground. This speed limiting factors are lesser for aircraft.

      @@ScienceforCommonman what I taught is that lat assume that plane take off from London coming to Nigeria, now London is north for example Nigeria is south and Earth is rotating from south to north. By the time the plane take off from ground the earth is going towards the north already and it will take Earth 6 hours to reach North so plane just need like few hours to reach North becurse it's going towards the direction already

      Aeroplane is hardly going to around 10km altitude.
      So, relative velocity between the earth's surface and aeroplane would be zero initially, and both have to be considered as in the same frame of reference.
      In effect, the motion of aeroplane has to analysed the same way we analyse that of a car.
      So, the effect as mentioned in your comment does not hold good.
