Ooh, I actually have unique insight regarding the fromsoft games. Most of the people who were on the ''git gud'' side of the argument pre Elden Ring and jumped to review bombing the DLC tend to be people who were never actually any good at the games. One of the biggest problems about the ''debate'' about these games that started with DS1 back in 2011 was how patronizing the people who simply won't enjoy the games are, as well as how condesending the die hard community that keeps telling you how you just need to ''git gud''. When I started playing these games the primary discussion was around accessibility, and both sides would use my position as an argument, since I have a physical disability that makes these games more difficult for me. I always found it patronizing that I somehow need the game to have an option make it easier for me to play, and I've always hated being an example of why it's not important to add those options. The primary determinator of whether these games are for you or not is patience. And the review bombers are people who don't have the patience to do challenge runs, and yet refuse to interact with the mechanics the game intends for you to use. the difficulty from the base game to the DLC is such a small bump that I found it dissapointing when compared to the difficulty bump from base game to DLC in the previous games, not that I didn't enjoy it, nor that I found it easy, I just expected the game to stop pulling its punches, and was instead greeted with more Elden Ring. Ramble over, great video
I'm gonna say it, hot take, but you don't need to yell at other people for what they build. If you like magic build magic, the people who say one playstyle is cheaper than the others don't know how to have fun anymore. Don't trust those people, they're bad and old and have wet diapers from crying and being a Manchild the whole day
I don't think you are on the right review page man... It's overwhelmingly bad performance, boring bosses that barely fit on your screen, boss flash bangs, camera, empty map.... But y great straw man you guys have going on there keep it up....
Not to mention he seemingly ignores the fact that about 80-85% of the negative reviews globally came from China because Chinese players were upset that an update to Easy Anti-Cheat, or as they call it "little blue bear" was banning them for cheating. I mean I know the bar for games journalism is in the gutter right now but jeez this is almost worse than some slop put out by Kotaku...
It won't affect Elden Ring in the slightest. To put it simple, it's a game for the big boys, so the small boys want to play it. When they inevitable get hurt, they'll cry and blame everyone but themselves- it's part of the human nature.
What's honestly just hilarious to me is that despite all of this. If from soft dropped another souls game (or Souls-like) these same guys crying about the self inflicted wounds they have would immediately buy it and be excited. So at the end of the day I don't pay much attention to the outliers spreading misinformation. And I guess I'm a rarity because I don't read a headline, and immediately act as if I read the whole article. I like to understand things before forming a concrete opinion. Because if I hate something, I really hate it. And I don't want to hate something/someone if I don't have all of the facts. So I feel it's my responsibility to do that.
This dlc is the best dlc I have ever Bought. It’s hard as shit but th ere is so much and it’s so fun. Beating Rellana was one of the best feelings and it only is gonna get better and I know it. This dlc has more content than full release AAA games, I CANNOT BELIEVE PEOPLE CAN HATE IT.
anyone who thinks shadow of the erdtree is hard should try killing all enemies in frigid outskirts in dark souls 2.... frozen reindeer > consort radahn
I personally feel like radahn p2 is "too hard", mostly because I can't see anything that's going on. Apart from that I wasn't stuck on any boss for hours and I've been stuck on bosses for hours before. (I wasn't even stuck on Radahn for hours because I chose to block that shit when I realized I cannot comprehend what's happening in p2). Sure, I have no idea what Bayle is doing 90% of the time either but at least he's not doing anything some of the time. I suppose I could level above the arbitrary rl150. I guess what I'm trying to say is the dlc isn't too hard, but I do not personally like radahn p2 at all because it's way too flashy and hectic for me to keep up on what's going on.
fingers crossed we get some adjustments to that boss because it SO close to being a perfect boss, but the legibility of the attacks fucking sucks, and its literally NOTHING like any other souls boss visually, people complaining about the camera on large bosses will FUCKING HATE p2 radahn
@@trolled6720 Midra is my favourite fight of the DLC, has enough in terms of visual clarity to actually learn the fight and you can actually see the boss because he's not the size of bayle. I also like saint of the bud quite a bit but saint is slow compared to so many of the others. I also want a mod that just skips abyssal woods on characters #2-10, that place is just blergh on repeat playthroughs.
Honestly, for once I completely understand the mixed reception, and its not even about the difficulty, yeah I have my gripes with the boss design philosophy of recent FS titles but I would forgive that if I got a few cool legacy dungeons and good overworld exploration, but instead We've got a huge, bloated world with not a lot to really explore in it, tons of reused enemies, horrible rewards, weird upgrade system that rewards artificially scraping every wall instead of, You know, overcoming challenges like bosses and dungeons, not enough unique weapons and spells... I dunno, I'm very mixed about it personally and I don't feel like coming back to it any time soon tbh.
I don't see you mentioning the horrible performance issues that people are facing for the final boss. I have killed it 4 times and yet still my PC cries red acidic tears when p2 nuke move is used.
The dlc is actually too easy I hate the fact that I need to fight the same boss in different area but other than that the game is too good One thing i hated in elder ring is the mines coz most look the same and they worked on it 8/10 not the best but amazing
Finished it ng+7 under 100 deaths this is my first souls game u just gotta learn how to counter different bosses do different types of damage sometimes u have to get a Lavar tear and remake a whole new build just for 1 boss
People forgot the entire lesson of the Erdtree sentinel somehow after bitching about how dumb new players are for not exploring and leveling. Wild

Volume lowered immensely is funny as hell
We got 61k Good Reviews vs 25k Bad Ones. Why does everyone keep saying its getting review bombed

Other than final boss phase 2 frying my computer to oblivion it was the most fun I had in elden ring

this is true but no man deserves to play frigid outskirts lmao. Wouldn't wish that on anyone

This is what i mean by a useful negative perspective, I even agree with a good chunk of this
i beat the game and gave it a negative review afterwards so we dont get these types of games anymore.
why spoil the best game ever?

we made it boyz
Stop ruining my game of the year please.

Performance issues are a valid negative review for sure. Thankfully not my experience this time around
Ultra Greatsword Strength players when they can't spam jump attack to brute force every fight and have to learn a Boss's attack pattern.
i beat the whole dlc using guts sword and jump attacks, didnt have to learn sh1t.
"oh no dont say mean things about my favourite game please :((("
The dlc is actually too easy

8/10 not the best but amazing
A Spoiler warning for people like me who are not through yet would have been nice if you choose to show the final Boss :(
