Amazing shots, the Lion and the Lamb is just bursting with every element, is there a chance of this one as a print!? By the way don't put your previous shots down as they were top notch mate.
What's up Henry? I've been watching your work for about a year now and I think your work is really good. I've just been watching on a smart TV and never thought to grab my computer. Anyway I think your I for composition is spot on. You are starting to develop the patience it takes to do what you do. By the way; ain't nothing wrong with you asking for help. The coffee found is a good idea. Take it easy my friend, and keep on shooting. Peace!
That is stunning the lion and the lamb sunrise. Just bought both of your books the other day they are amazing. I would love to be able to get up there and see that. Unfortunately, I'm wheelchair-bound. So glad you go into so much detail about each place you visit and the wainwright series. Stay safe and can't wait to see your work this year
Nice video! And, the images are spectacular! I had a morning like this once, also about two years ago. You're right, it's such an amazing rush and I didn't want it to end.
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, but this one especially! Six years ago I took my two children on a trip abroad because I selfishly wanted to be with them the first time they did such a trip (my daughter was in first year of college, and son first year of high school). One of my personal favorite spots was the Lake District (my cover photo is of my cappuccino in a small bakery in the Lake District), I specifically remember the tour bus passing The Lion and the Lamb. My dream is to return and do a walking tour in the area, with my camera and time to travel at my own pace. Thank you SO much for your videos! I am starting to read your e-books today...Crack On!
What a amazing location . Three amazing photos. The sunset photo took my breath away. The second photo look like it was taken on another planet. The third photo of the waterfall was amazing. Three amazing photographs taken in one day,how lucky can one person be. That going to take some beating Henry. Well done. Cant wait to see what you come up with next.
Bloody hell!! That sky caught fire! Amazing. You did it justice with that image. Your enthusiasm and passion for what was happening, again, was great. It's what everyone wants to see in a landscape photography blog
@@HenryTurnerphoto no worries mate. Have been recommending your channel to a load of photo mates. Remember if you're ever in south Wales to let me know and see if we can meet up for a shoot
Got a bit nostalgic here Henry . Stayed on a little farm across from Helm Crag many years ago , did exactly the same , got up early and headed up the Crag before sunrise . Took many photos and left , buzzing . Your images were superb , again your enthusiasm got me hooked on this video . Yeah , think you should go for two a week ! Thanks again .
Well I think that's the January image in the bag, cracking first shot and how many days in. Hope the rest of your year carries on in the same way Henry.
Wow 3 stunning photographs, the sunrise was just incredible, but my fav was the third one with the little stream, I'm new to your channel and new to photography so looking forward to seeing your Scotland photos.
What a way to start 2020 Henry, so chuffed for you. Excellent beginning for what i am sure more of is still to come. Loving this channel more and more. Again thx for the inspiration.
Nice shots mate! I noticed you are using your filters wrong, the ND should be closest to the lens with the sponge gasket stopping any light leaking in and the graduated filter in the second slot.
Cheers Michael! Yes that's the right way to do it, a lot of the time I am rushing and having the filters that way round has never negatively affected my images however. Thanks again for watching mate.
Hi Henry My hobby is mountain trekking and wild camping but your channel is very interesting love the way you hike out and capture the views photos are amazing..... atb chris ....new subscriber
Great video once again Henry, that enthusiasm!!! I’d buy a bottle of that any day! In the meantime I’ll grab you a coffee later 😉. Great photos, keep up the good work 👍
I've watched several of your videos and really enjoying them. I'm looking forward to more. Thank you for inspiring me to take better photos. I have the same camera as yours. I need to invest on really good lenses. I think I might get myself a wide lens like your Tokina 11-16 😁
Great effort. Thanks for sharing. I'm always looking for good walks with good views to take some photos. I'll make a note to do this one when the weather clears up a bit. Cheers Henry. (BTW, I'm based in Kendal if you're ever keen for someone to join you, happy to help with filming)
Amazing video...the lion and the lamb wow. First time I've come across your work, I'm guessing I time it well by your commentary lol. Subscribed. Alex from Alberta, Canada via Leicester.
Loved this, your enthusiasm is infectious, I have ignored the lakes for too long in favour of the west highlands, a visit is long overdue, cracking good set of images 👍.
West Highlands are very special - but yes I hope you get the chance t make it here mate - an awesome spot in its own right. Thanks a lot for watching Stuart
Hey Henry, a truly great day and nice photos. One thing, I'd like to comment on though and I hope you don't mind a little bit of a critique. I feel we viewers often don't give the best feedback as we almost always just talk about how much we like the images. I'm going to diverge from that just a bit. On the portrait shot looking down the stream about 21:45 in the video, I really felt the image would have been improved with a little more texture in the whitewater. Don't get me wrong, it was a good image and I'm sure that is what you are going far but some texture in the water would have added a lot of foreground interest and still lead you into the photo in my opinion. By taking a shot around 1/6th or so and blending some texture into the final image, I think it would have been better. I struggle with shots looking downstream. They often feel a bit too 2D and adding some texture can help give the illusion of depth. That is my opinion anyway and I enjoyed the video and the photos.
Hi Philip - thanks so much for watching mate, and and your critique comes much appreciated. In actual fact I still have the two exposures and will maybe try painting in some of the detail in that foreground just to see how it looks. Thanks again mate 🙏🏼
Just found you Henry watched a good few of your vlogs and very good up to now young man well done you certainly have a passion for it you seem to have a good eye for a composition, could I ask where you parked on this trip was it easy to find did you come off the A591.
Certainly a great shot! What we can see here is that one of the secrets of successful landscape photography is to never stop being amazed by the things you shoot. Keep up the enthusiasm!
Oh my god, that's awesome! Unfortunately, I had to pass an epic sunset recently, but you know, can't be lucky all the time. The second image looks almost like it would be a location in a science fiction or fantasy movie. 🤔 And a very good point about sunlight in the winter. Often enough, it's just overlooked and underrated. With your luck on these three photos, you could have played lottery you would probably have won the jackpot. 😅 But yeah, sometimes it's just a nobrainer, sometimes you come home with no image at all no matter how hard you try. Well, don't overdo it (yet), Henry. Even if you do two videos a week, if you think in the future two might be too much - there is the unforgiving YT algorithm which thinks "Hey, this guy used to upload two vids in a week, but now only one, so I won't care as much about him anymore". That said, I would be the last one complaining about more of your videos. 👍
Nice one Henry, one of my favourite walks and a stunning sunrise image of the Lion & the Lamb. When I get to the summit I never want to come down! Still watching, I hope you dropped into the gingerbread shop in Grasmere on the way back 👍
Amazing shots, the Lion and the Lamb is just bursting with every element, is there a chance of this one as a print!? By the way don't put your previous shots down as they were top notch mate.
Thanks very much Matthew, much appreciated! Yes, it's up on my website now available to buy as a limited edition print.
