  • Is it now possible to only take my phone with me on lightweight jaunts into the mountains and have no regrets about leaving my big 'proper' camera behind?!
Join me for a wander up Loughrigg in the English Lake District as I try to capture at least 5 landscape shots I'm happy with just using an iPhone 15 Pro and a Gorillapod.

This is something I've been thinking about as I'm now 68 with a dodgy hip,.knees and ankles, so I've been taking more landscapes with my phone rather than carry a heavy bag with body, lenses and tripod. I enjoyed this video - thank you!

Thanks Russell much appreciated. I think the acid test is if the kit is putting you off going to take photographs then it’s good to try something different. A ‘proper’ camera will undeniably take a higher quality shot but not whilst its stuck in its bag and not in the right place at the right time 👍 whatever way you keep your love for photography going has to be a good thing 📷

Yes I totally agree. I was in Keswick for a week - last week but it rained almost everyday so the camera mostly stayed in the bag and the majority of the photographs that I composed were on my iPhone. I have borrowed my son’s Nikon Zfc, which is a bit lighter.

Thanks for giving my turbo waffle a watch mate. I like that one, bit of an afterthought on way down but loved the framing of the tree and Fairfield in the background 👍

I was trying to remember the last time I did Loughrigg. Think it was during the Rab Mountain Marathon series! Wasn't waffle, really enjoyed it.

@@seanmercer7704 cheers mate I was thinking I’d get Obi to do the commentary next time 😂 There’s interesting contour nav and continues on towards Blea Rigg etc can imagine that would fit into mountain marathon shenanigans nicely 🏃🏃🏽‍♀️🏃‍♂️
