I cut my teeth on Victory. My former pastor Henry Lee (East Bethel Baptist Church 1329-33 W Erie Avenue in Philly) made sure his church choirs were singing the Word & trained us in voice & sent me to Temple for some courses in directing the choir. Learned how to play a mean tambourine watching the twins. Back then EBBC choirs were the mini Victory choir.....GOD Bless u all for the life lessons.
This is truly my favorite song of all time and my church (Oak Grove Baptist Church located at 2853 N. 21st Street in Philly) murders this song even til this day. I LOVE THIS SONG AND IT REALLY GETS ME THROUGH HARD TIMES.
my grandparents were members of EBBC. i was a ROSEBUD, LOL. I ALWAYS LOVED REV. LEE'S VOICE AND MANNERISMS AND THAT LAUGH. WHEN MY GRANDMOTHER PASSED , I SOUGHT HIM OUT TO SING AT THAT THE FUNERAL. WHICH HE GRACIOUSLY DID.
