Here comes Part II of one of the best local experiences you can get in Peru/Colombia. We spent 2 nights and 1 day on a local slow boat from Iquitos to Leticia. We left Iquitos, Peru, late at night on a cargo boat on the amazon river, and it was absolutely fantastic.
What do you need to know before you decide on this trip on a slow boat from Peru to Colombia:
    - you have to fly to Iquitos because there is no road to access this city - boats leave every day from Monday to Saturday at 6pm, sometimes 8pm - on Sunday!
    - you need to buy your own hammock - the price can vary by seller. We spend 10$ per person on hammock
    - ticket for a slow boat is 26$ (80 Soles)
    - you can also sleep in a cabin for 33$ (100 Soles) - we saw the place it is tiny, no window, but you can lock your stuff inside during the day and enjoy it on the deck
    - you can buy a boat ticket on the departure day
    - the boat is leaving from Puerto Mazusa
    - you will arrive in Leticia around 6am, and you need to go to Peru immigration (which opens at 7am) to stamp out from the country and then take a boat to Colombian immigration to get a stamp of Colombia.
Hope this will help many adventurous travelers who take this slow boat from Iquitos, Peru, to Leticia, Colombia.

We couldn't upload our Part II from Cuba so here it comes from Mexico. We super happy to be here to try all the Mexican food we can and have an opportunity to work more on our Cuban videos. So stay tuned for a new video in a few days from Cuba!
Any recommendations for Mexico, leave a comment. Gracias amigos 😍

Hi Krystina & Romain. That looked like quite a journey. I was in Mexico last year, and if you are still on the Yucatan peninsula, I would recommend going to Homun and do a cenotes tour with a local 'velotaxi'. One of the best memories of our trip!

You two are doing a great job taking that boat ride in a good mood all along
I have special connection to boats and vessels as I work as a planner for ocean going big container ships,I make sure that the load distribution is optimal
I am really curious how these river boats maintain their stability after loading and discharging the cargo and travellers without having any system to assist them and that too in a considerably smaller water body
I guess it all comes from experience
    Thanks for the tour, Godspeed

Hey Guys. That was an adventure...LOL Hey Romain.....If Kristyna will put up with this mode of travel she is the real deal and most definitely a "keeper". Did you know they also do this kind of travel on Cargo ships across the ocean?

I would have loved that journey. I hope you did, I'm not sure from the vlog. Still in a few years you will look back and wonder. Love, D.

What an amazing journey! It seems maybe a bit boring at times, but special. How many people sleep on a boat in the Amazon?

    • @KristynaRomain
      @KristynaRomain  4 года назад +1

Exactly. There were at least 200 people on both decks. Pretty packed.
