He kept things positive, but i got the vibe that the buffet was a disappointment for him.
definitely a unique and tasty buffet, but probably didnt measure up to his expectations, considering the pricing and the reserve nature of the buffet.
Yeah I wouldn't eat anything else after seeing undercooked meat.. My traumatic experience with food poisoning outweighs my want for buffets.

For being "Over the top" it's oddly deserted. Either someone is excited or they keep the AC on blast.

I would happily take him around Auckland. I haven't personally been to Cordis but heard good things about there, shame it looked a bit average.. so many good places as you say though.

It’s just NZ man. Really lacking over here compared to culinary hubs like Japan, Korea, or Europe.
I’ve never seen seafood look so dry before you can tell he tried but he wasn’t selling anybody on this buffet not to mention the tables behind him were empty the whole video
I’m from New Zealand this is so embarrassing cause we really do have some great restaurants here 😂 but where he went to so up North he needs to go back to Auckland to eat even his Rotorua trip was a disappointment the hāngi he ate isn’t traditional we as Māori don’t make hāngi like that
My company took us all to this buffet for our Christmas function. The variety and quality of food was amazing and we all ate ourselves silly! Delicious!
I always smell raw oysters before I eat them. If they smell fishy, I don’t eat them.

Kangaroo cooked correctly is an excellent meal. I had it when I was in Alice Springs. Still think about that meal 4 years later.

Hope you get the full experience of our Maori Hangi. They should have creamed Paua (Abalone), Raw fish, Kumara, Stuffing, Fresh seafood, Steamed pudding... the list goes on lol

Ive been here.....i agree about the grilled meats they are not great, almost broke a tooth trying to chew the ostrich. BUT....the goat curry was insanely good. Not sure if you are still over here mike but i could show you a few good food spots in auckland 💯🍻

The place this is at is called “Cordis Hotel” in Auckland, NZ.
The buffet in the hotel is called “8”(bc of the 8 kitchens they have available).

not surprised about the desserts. We don't have much of a sweet tooth (as compared to other places like the US)
idk where was everyone ..was their tabels giving away as well ..not on their sea food game very well ..now it's a tourist destination and they know it and cook like it ..i would prolly pass on that place

Mike how much do you know/ are worried about where meats are sourced? If they are cooked enough? Etc? I feel like if I’m traveling I would be really worried about parasites in meat, fish and shellfish and bacteria and different diseases that comes from eating undercooked meat
I wouldn't worry much about it in a country like NZ, Australia, Japan, South Korea or Europe (especially western part), but elsewhere in the world I'd personally be concerned

@@SKRWildfire my gut health is so much better. I have IBS and lactose intolerance so I was constantly in pain. Yes I still have bad days but my bad days now in comparison to before AG1 is night and day. It doesn’t taste great to me I just had to figure out what to mix it with to help

I think that’s really important to note with these food travelers. They understand that even if it’s not their best meal, it might be amazing for someone else so its important to try and find some good points
This place is becoming overpriced and disappointing each time i go :) Always a hit or miss with the seafood also.
