Great video. Im not a carpenter myself but im genuinely intrigued, do you ever go back to these jobs to see the finished project after its been painted over etc?
Looks brilliant, but next time you do a panelling job in a house that’s about 50 or 60 years old where not one wall is square and not one wall is as flat as a pancake. Please do a video on that. I would love to see that.
Tell me about it I’ve moved into an old brick house and I know I’m going to have to take the hit and get a carpenter in to do my skirtings for some TLC,not one wall is straight…or floor 😂
Hey TJ and everyone in the comments. Found this channel after taking a gap year, deciding not to go to uni. Found my love for construction and carpentry more specifically. Went back to college and did my level 1 and eventually got my CSCS labourer card recently. Struggling to find an apprenticeship for some time now, and I want to get cracking on, anyone know of a good way to find a carpentry apprenticeship in London? (Tried every job site available: Indeed etc)
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 yeah 😩😩. Last night broken in. I have asked a few companies if they have goodies, all rejected 🤣. Back to cutting doors by hand saw 😭👊
That was cheap, if it was another £800 on the total it would have been a cheap job, customers always want cheap jobs but look at the cost of the tools to do the work,, nice video

That’s far far too cheap bro! nobody else is going to do that for less than 3.5k! Don’t undervalue your skills and experience! I’d have walked away from that one and quickly to boot! You had to plot and plan out each frame, buy cut and erect each one , make good after each one? That work is highly skilled work and he should pay proper money.

Wear and tear on your tools, vehicle 25 % mark up on materials Plus vat because like everyone else charges! you gotta pay taxes don’t you?? Every decorator says I’m right. For example Just ask a plumber how much 7 days of hard graft is going to cost you! Near on £2100 that’s a fact. Are you not worth the same amount as a plumber?
11 doors for £600. £55 a door; that's more than a fair price.
