As woman-centered as his films are, they don't show women in a positive light either. They are full of dead beat, drug addicted, gaslighting mothers who choose men over their children. If they dont fit those qualities, they are usually struggling and waiting for a man to put them back together again.
He also reuses plots, not only between his films, but between his plays and films. Mea Culpa and Fall From Grace (two of his relatively recent films) have the exact same "twist" ending.
The problem with Perry is that there are no other Black directors/producers on his level, so he wont listen to anyone's feedback. He resonates with the groups of people who need to watch something overly-didactic in order to feel like the film has a message. Hes doing the same thing as David E Talbert and Jecarious Johnson. The only difference is that Perry went mainstream, while the other two are relgated to Tubi.
I also think part of the reason the scenes are so long is because he copy+pastes them from his plays. With plays, the suspension of disbelief is larger and the audience has to sit longer in general, so longer scenes are more appropriate and the actors are more interesting to watch (because they have to be).
I think Perry's films are fine for audience that watches them, but to claim that they are artful or doing something substantial for Black film making (or the Black community) is untrue. I'm assuming he got that zero percent because critics are tired of him ringing the same bell.
Fun Fact: Perry and his films are regularly nominated for the Razzies, an award show for the WORST projects in television and film lol

Let's not forget that the women are always either pathetic and weak or emotionally shattered. He does the same characteristics every film but he gives them no depth. Every character is always over the top mean for no reason . They're never fleshed out because Tyler Perry needs to take screen writing classes if he won't bring in writers. The House of Payne didn't become successful until TBS forced him to bring in writers. He's making money and that's his only goal because an actual artist would take more pride in their work would be brokenhearted that everyone of importance hates his work and he's the joke of the screen writers. He's not in Hollywood because he couldn't make it in Hollywood. He HAD to make his own path. His stuff is tubi on meth.

The one good thing I like he does it give black actors their biggest payday of their career: that’s what Taraji, Meagan and Cory said in past interviews

So let's just say the men were just white men and all white characters does it matter then that the white dude is seen in negative light or bad track record towards women or something these plenty of movies like that so why bash Tyler for doing it ? I'm asking a serious question looking for serious answers and conversation

Great point. I think the issue some people have with his movies is as a black director and writer he should be making movies to PUSH black male characters and storylines in more positive and empowering ways. He’s not helping the culture at all advance. At minimum, I’d love for him to switch up the formula and make the men the “good” guy and women the “villain”. At least it would be a change!
After 20 years of making movies and now becoming a billionaire, I’m sure Tyler is going to stick to the formula and keep it pushing. 😂

I would love for him to do more movies from the male perspective. I think his only one was Daddy Little Girls (which I admit haven’t seen yet, but probably should since top actor Idris Elba stars)

Tyler continously demonizes the Black man and portrays them in such a negative light. He needs to be more uplifting and convey more positivity amongst the Black community. I'm so tired of seeing the black women down trodden and the men abusive and controlling. The premise in his movies are the same, it's like he lacks creativity.

Tyler Perry didn’t write for Colored Girls. That was a film adaptation of a book. He doesn’t know how to write good. His best film, in my opinion, is a Family that Preys.

I like that one too! It was his first movie to feature a diverse cast
