You are so right about memorization my daughter actually loved memorizing poems and scriptures last year !!! I want to try more than words as well I heard that was a awesome Bible Curriculum.
I love what you said about knowing your "why". That's why I shelved morning basket entirely for a while, because I didn't know what I wanted to do with it or why. But, we now have our own simple morning basket that we love. And you gave me a few good ideas to add in. Great video!
Thanks so much! Yes there is no point in doing something just to do it, otherwise there will be no joy in it and you won’t have motivation to keep doing it. Thanks for watching 😊
We have more than words level 1 I’m so excited to start however I don’t see us starting it until January after winter break. Still finishing up our indescribable and how great is our god devotional, adventures in creation science by masterbooks and my son has shown lots of interest in memorizing Bible verses. Trying to not add too much since he’s only in first grade so love how simple your morning basket is. Our “basket” is kinda anytime in the day basket and still working out our routine since we now have Saints PE and kids Bible study group. Which last year we didn’t have those so it was easy to stick with our routine during the year. Thanks for sharing. Very helpful in reminding me to keep it simple.
I’ve heard great things about indescribable and how great is our God…take your time with them and enjoy them. There is no rush to start more than words! Anytime of the day basket…love it!! Haha!
While I’m not familiar with More Than Words we found the Answers Bible Curriculum while visiting the Creation Museum and plan to use that. The books we found there filled our Morning Basket! ❤️
Thank you for sharing! Couldnt agree more about the “More Than Words” Bible curriculum! We started with it last year and LOVE it. Loved seeing the flip through of the Illustrated Bible...excited to check that out.
Thank you! I see all these full morning baskets and to me it’s SO overwhelming. I refuse to put any curriculum in a basket bc of it 😆 This I could maybe handle 🥰
This is great. This is exactly what we are planning on doing: Bible, memorization, and alternating science and history. Last year, we tried to put too many things into it, to check all the boxes I guess. But, I found the kids weren’t getting much out of it. It was just too much.
Is there a reason not to do the next level of More Than Words? I know there were 4 levels planned, but only 2 have been published so far. Level 2 has a yellow cover.
Only that level 2 is intended for grades 4-6 and by looking at the samples, only my 4th grader would really be ready for that. I think it will be over my 2nd grader and kindergartner’s head just a bit. I’m saving it for the following year ☺️
@@thepracticalhomeschooler I forgot to mention Christian light education for a Bible study. And also, thank you for your videos. I enjoy watching them.
Thank you so much for flipping through the story bible!! Ive been looking for one! so so helpful!

It was such a sweet curriculum! I debated about redoing the whole thing but I was outvoted by my girls 🤦🏻♀️ they want something new.
@@thepracticalhomeschooler 🤣🤣🤣 it’s funny how the kiddos always have the last day even when we say we are not going to give in lol 😂
Yes they do! I *guess* it’s more about them 🙄😂 haha
Thank you for the video, I hadn't heard of a morning basket til today and it sounds effective.

This is actually what I’m thinking for our morning “basket” time as well! Great ideas, thanks!
So glad you found it helpful ❤️

We have been using more than words recently and we absolutely LOVE it!!
It’s really good!
Thank you for sharing! As a new homeschool and RUclips mom these videos are so helpful!
I’m so glad! It’s overwhelming at first, for sure!!
My kids don’t do well just diving in to school work haha they need some sort of slow start and morning basket is just that for us!
Awesome tips! 😊
I’ve tried both, and while I personally kinda prefer “afternoon basket” my girls like it in the morning, so we do it then! They want a warm up too ☺️
Great video! Loved seeing your picks for your simple morning basket ❤
Thanks so much ☺️
Definitely simple and practical. Thanks for sharing. I had more than words for kindergarten but my son wasn't ready so we're doing it for 1st instead.
Great! I had my first grader do it this year and she did great with it!
Thank you❤
"More than words"- do you think biys would like it as well? Ive got 4 boys ranging from 4yrs-10yrs old. It looks great!
Thank you for this great video! Do you need to buy a separate workbook for each of your children for “More than Words”?
I just got a book at hobby lobby called 40 questions and answers! Really great!!
Nice!!
Masterbooks Foundations in Faith is similar to More Than Words!

Yes totally! Even if it’s just one or two things ☺️ (or nothing at all, many people totally skip it altogether!)
Love that DK Bible:)
It’s so good!

Same thing happened to us! Good luck next year!! 👍

Have you heard of grapevine bible studies or the steadfast family bible studies? You might enjoy them
Ooh no I haven’t! I’ll check them out! Thanks so much ☺️☺️
