    Your *videos* are the gift that keeps on giving. Infectious from 11,000 miles away, a few links to your channel (along with some dares and ribbing) make an awesome gift. Who really wants to just buy somebody a 3D printer with everything they'd need? Spend that money on your *own* filament and parts so you can show off what you've learned from this channel! :)
    Thank you for your work.

    Also have a look at the Russian Doll Maze Puzzle Box by RevK on Thingiverse. It is like the hidden labyrinth maze but has multiple layers. So, once you finish one you have to start another and so on. They include a SCAD file in the description so you can create a random puzzle each time.
    I printed one of these for my Uncle, took him about 30 minutes to solve it.
    If you are the one printing and assembling this you sadly don't get the experience of solving it since you learn the maze whilst putting it together. So, if you want to solve something, pickup the lock puzzle from Make Anything.

    How did you print the pieces so they slide together easy? Do you design one part smaller? For example I tried the dove tail and kept the same shape just flipped it. But the peices fit very tight. Is there a tolerance you set or just make the one part smaller?

    Already did a spin of the Labyrinth Gift Box as a present a few years ago for one of my nephews. I added a slot at the top so it can be used as a piggy bank. Then i added the IBAN number of his swiss bank account that i opened for him as an embossed text wrapped around the container.

    Heaven!
    Thanks for showing this list of 3D-printed puzzles. I think that I've siad that a few times before but for me, puzzles are one of the best uses for 3D-printers. In fact a whole community of RUclips channels is build around this specific hobby. You showing these puzzles to your viewers is a great way getting people to start solving / designing puzzles as well.
    And in case you need a present for a puzzle collector who already has all the puzzles you mentioned, cheyk "twisty puzzle" on thingiverse. It is amazing how many designs are available for free on that website :D

    @Werbewunder i would say a DIY FilamentExtruder like Werbewunder he did it on his channel here on youtube for free is the best christmas gift you can have as 3D Printer fan! Then all the high costs for filament are away and you can reuse your wrong printed parts and help world to get rid of the plastic! Make the world to a better place and reuse your filament again. Every animal will thank you!

    Hey Angus, additive manufacture like this always appealed to me, but... It kinda looks crappy. I know it's on the cheap and at home and that, but is there anything one could do to make the pieces look nicer after printing? Maybe like sanding them down to smooth, or using an iron to melt and flatten some surfaces or something...?

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  5 лет назад +1

      Sure, you could sand it and paint it or coat it with something, or use special filaments like Polysmooth which is smoothed with IPA. That takes a lot of effort after printing however!

      If you print in ABS, you can use an acetone vapor bath to smooth out the surface, depending on what you're printing.
