Been dealing with this on 2015 griz700 and a 2014 griz550 for about 4 years. I bought them at the same time. They were basically driven in all of the exact same places as me and my wife went everywhere together on them. And they started doing it at the exact same time. Around 3000 miles of pretty easy riding. No mud or water. I cannot figure out the problem. I have tried everything that you are suggesting and it does nothing but if I just simply sit there and tap the start button over and over and over sometimes it starts on the first try sometimes it takes 200 tries but they always start. Good video by the way. Very thorough.
Thank you for the feedback. I tell you what, when that code 12 came up and started reading up on it I got pretty nervous because of all the different reasons the forms said.. glad I eventually figured it out.. there was a couple of frustrating nights involved though

I’ve got a o8 crank with no spark. Spins over perfectly just no spark at all. New coil spark plug. Any advice. Oh and the dash just has the e on it.
Damn, not sure where to start there.. I think I would start by making sure battery is good and then move down the line
Did you get it figured out? My 08 just started this. Started it up and was warming it up for a few minutes and went to move and it died. Started again then died again and won't start now. Cranks over just fine but I do have a code 12 showing up now so now I'm wondering if my crank position sensor is actually the culprit
Question. Will a fault code stop it from starting. And what is a code 14 on Yamaha atvs?
Code 14 is an intake pressure sensor error. And yes certain fault codes will stop it from starting.
I had a code 12 on my Grizz too. Found out a clip was broken on my rectifier so the plug came loose. Couple zipties and problem solved haha.
But sometimes you throw money at it till its fixed kind of deal. It happens.
Yea I read fourms for probably a hour and everyone had a different issue it seemed lmao.. I was like ooooo shit
I bought a new starter
A new sator
And new solenoid switch
Good to know incase it ever happens to mine

How do you clear a code
You have to get into diagnostics mode in your gauge cluster and reset it.. you can Google it and there’s plenty of step by steps out there
Do you still have the stator and CPS?
