An absolute masterpiece from Elfman.
Nope.
Be careful you'll invite alk the trolls who say that he doesn't know how to read music here, for 30 years Elfmsn has said he has written every note in the score, but everyone always says it was Shirley Walker or Steve Bartek which is false, I'm just putting this here so people know Elfman wrote the music
@@iceomistar4302elfman was ere
This is an absolute masterpiece and with all due respect, I would put Danny Elfman's Batman film score at the same level as Monty Norman's James Bond film score, which is also a wonderful masterpiece. That's pure talent right there, people!
Did you mean Monty Norman's James Bond Theme, arranged & conducted by John Barry or Monty Norman's score to Dr No??? I'm sure Elfman's Batman score might rival any of John Barry's eleven Bond scores, but I don't think Norman's Dr No score (which has never been released, except for a brief re-recorded suite) is, in my opinion, nearly as impressive as Elfman's Batman score.
My favorite movie of all time, I watch this and Returns all the time.
2019 marks the 30th Anniversary of Tim Burton’s legendary “Batman”, starring Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, both in unforgettable performances.
With this movie Tim Burton set a new and dark tone for Batman and more movies to come. To accompany his project, he got a very young Danny Elfman to provide the musical score. This cooperation turned out to be as fruitful such as Spielberg & Williams and Hitchcock & Herrmann. Also, we have the wonderful Shirley Walker to conduct the score with absolute passion and energy. Enjoy!
Ah yes, another fine choice, Soundtrack Fred! Your powers of soundtrack sharing serve us well.
Every time I hear this soundtrack it reminds me so much of the Lego Batman game (2008)
My favourite Batman score, I used to listen to it as I read Batman comics
That is brilliant! Thank you so much!
Good job 👍
Literally one of the best scores of all time. 👍👍 (although I do like Returns better!)
Truly amazing music thanks my dear for sharing
always loved this score and the movie, one of the best, also the best designed batcar i've ever seen, about the score, beautifully crafted, nowadays its rare that there is a tune in the score
the best passage where you can hear the tune is from 8:06,a very powerful piece where batman drives thru the forest to his lair, outstanding, the brass ostinatos remind me of the old flash score wich i also find a great score even if it was only a tv show
I agree, we've shifted from creative theatrical elements in music to heartfelt low and powerful music.
@@JosiahFickinger nowadays, you can recreate a lot from the newer filmscore music very easily with sonuscore the orchestra complete ruclips.net/video/tCS28zzIoBY/видео.html as you can hear Josiah, these newer soundtracks are easier to create than the older movie scores
@@ronnyb5890 I agree, just look up a few GarageBand recreations like One Day -Potc. Here's a link to a playlist of movie theme recreations: ruclips.net/p/PLoc5vH9jXcQAdQmMVi3zPij795Msk3sno
@@ronnyb5890 In case you're curious, the new Wednesday series is scored by Elfman and some other guy.
@@JosiahFickinger aha thanx Josiah,didnt know that,will surely have a listen,cheers
I love the different version of Descent into Mystery here.
If I were to ever become batman, this is my theme 🦇
Oh, I love it
First movie the best of all.
Love this soundtrack by Danny Elfman. It so suited the 1989 Tim Burton 'Batman' film. In the comments Ronny B is right - at time index 8:06 where it goes into the track entitled 'Descent Into Mystery', is perhaps the best part; great rising tension and total musical climax.
Way better than that Zimmer shit !
ESTA MUY MUY BIEN GRACIA
Is that Shirley Walker’s voice we hear at the start of the first cue?
It is. :-)
Yep, the orchestra had never seen a woman conductor before and were surprised
I've noticed that some of your uploads have moments in the beginning where you here the actual conductors counting down. Are these special versions? This Batman soundtrack in particular even sounds like it has more spatial depth ( the arrangement sounds somehow different) to it than the version I have and I'm pretty sure that was Shirley Walker at the start. anyway, I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse but and you've probably heard this a million times from others in the comment section: this is one my favorites, keep up the good work.
In most of the time, those snippets were included on the various releases the rest was taken from, too. I think it gives those recordings a more human touch, making clear that people actually doing this magnificent work and that it's more than rather "music coming out of a speaker".
Thanks for this and all your other comments! Best to you!
Fred
I'll never forget the first time we see the Batman while Elfman's music rises. Yikes!
I am BatMan......... the Vampire-batMaN
I would like if the cues form decsend into mystery to Return in Batman Returns
Elfman was kind of a pussy for not just using Tchaikovsky's 1812 Finale like he clearly wanted to.
