I know this: Elizabeth met him as a 13 year old and fell in love. She knew. ❤ No one is exempt from falling in love and following their heart. This was an extraordinary tribute to Prince Philip.

My mother was the same age as Prince Philip. She had much of the same attitude towards life - never explain, never complain. She used to say that a good antidote to your problems was to keep busy and then you will forget about your problems. How true! Also, I found out that talking about your past and present problems won't solve your problems, only make them seem worse in your mind. It's a very good idea not to dwell upon your troubles in life.
Your mother's attitude towards life and problem-solving sounds very wise. Keeping busy and avoiding dwelling on troubles can indeed be effective ways to maintain a positive outlook and overcome challenges.

I saw a beautiful picture he painted of the Queen having breakfast and it was undoubtedly her, he captured her so nicely. I also read that he left life changing amounts of money to long trusted staff members and that says a lot of nice and decent things about him. He was very interesting and loved to read and left a huge library that would be a dream come true to look through. I miss him.

He was at one time , a Prince without a country , an excellent student , a true war hero and the man standing firmly with the most historic Monarch , making what she did look easy. Personally , while I am much younger then his youngest , Prince Edward , I look to him as a role model. Do the right thing , rather than appear to do the appropriate thing. He was a great man. I am sorry that the Traitor Prince Harry , darkened his final days , and the final years of her Late Majesty. We all make choices. That was unforgivable.
I'm sorry but Harry is not a traitor. He has had the courage to walk away from the slavery which is the basis of the idea of royalty. Royals are expected to be display models of human life, regardless of their talents or preferences. Most people born in free nations can shape their own lives according to their talents and values but royals are expected to do endless empty ceremonial duties. Harry rescued his wife and children from this pretence and claimed as much normality as he can, given the very difficult start his life had. His children will thank him every day of their lives.

I remember being just a lil girl and asking my mom why he was only a prince while he is married to the queen? I never understood that. Even as a little girl I thought it to be very strange the prince was never regarded as a king. Marriage to me back then meant both should have carried the title.

Prince Philip was in a word METICULOUS. He was a brilliant and passionate man. The late HMTQ was so lucky to fall in love with a man like him. I see now Edward DOE, is more like him than Charles for sure. Anne TPR, is a lot like him as far as her authentic and sometimes curt demeanor.

I know a lot about Prince Philip but I wanted to listen again because in the times that are in now-- where people are always saying poor me, poor me-- here we have a stateless man, much like the Palestinians are stateless although obviously for different reasons . HE was stateless and yet he carried on and he married one of the most powerful women in the world, Elizabeth. I know exactly why she was happy which helped her reign in the greatest fashion possible because she had married a man who was not a wimp. Prince Philip was NOT a milk toast like all these other powerful women marry, such as Megyn Kelly & other much less powerful women chose as marriage partners. THESE other ambitious women marry very weak men and they make the money and they support the men but the Queen, which is what Elizabeth eventually became, married a very powerful man in himself ; a very strong man; a man who had a great sense of his own worth; his own dignity; and a deep sense of his self. HE was able to be by her side throughout her life until his death & this allowed her to attend to her nation's needs, seeking his advice and his strength when necessary.
It's clear you admire Prince Philip's strength and resilience, as well as the supportive role he played alongside Queen Elizabeth II. Their partnership undoubtedly contributed to her successful reign.

Very funny to see Charles looking so much like his grandfather on Phillips side. Not just the ears but his face and body with sloping shoulders. Not a great look. Phillip was such an exceptional being so intelligent well educated and curious about the world.
