Ryan Barham No, it’s not because first of all, pyramids are illegal and get shut down in their beginning and Amway has been going for 50 years close to 51. In a pyramid them employee will never make enough money as the boss. In Amway, there are no bosses. There are uplines which aren’t bosses because they don’t tell the people they recruit when to work and they don’t pay them and they don’t tell them they have to do anything and the recruits can always make more than the uplines.

If you're old high school classmate calls you out of nowhere and says to join this business opportunity and then he's trying to convince you that it's not a pyramid scheme, it's a pyramid scheme
Not necessarily people don't understand the difference between an actual pyramid scheme and an MLM pyramid schemes are illegal and designed to rip people off MLMs are legitimate business that sell products or services. Mary K, and Avon for example, are NOT pyramid schemes they are MLMs. People think everything where you have to recruit is a pyramid scheme and it's not. The company you work for recruits and you have a boss and there's someone above them and more people above him all the way up to the owner/CEO guess what that looks like when you draw out the organizational chart? A pyramid. So people talk all this stuff in the comments and have no idea what a pyramid scheme actually is.
@@Lazaven MLM's are just as bad. Companies hire people to increase productivity and has a department exclusively work for that purpose. An accountant doesn't hire people as part of the job. The organizational chart shows people who each do different jobs, a company is made of people doing different things contributing to the success of the company. MLM's are only about recruiting. The sales part is just there so it can look legitimate.
@@Anon-qp3kt Thats actually not true. MLMs are legal it's called distribution of products or services the recruitment is for building the sales force. Are some of them deceptive and have bad business practices? Absolutely! BUT they're not all the same and some are better than others. Look at how real estate brokerages work the broker recruits trains and develops agents and whenever one of those agents goes out and sells a house the broker gets paid and nobody bats a freaking eye he can recruit all the agents he wants to sell houses for him but when anyone else in any other sales business adotps that model they're a MLM or a pyramid scheme?! That's ridiculous
I've been roped into one of these before. its usually some hot girl that acts all sweet and lures you in then you're next to a bunch of asian guys who all got roped in by the same girl
So great! Love it in the real work space when the underlings keep asking practical questions and the boss gets annoyed because the boss realizes the employees are smarter than him/her.
How can people fall for this kind of scheme. The first moment they say "Work like you are your own boss and quick money with not much of effort", the second moment I am out of the room.
uhm,not all people are intelligent "enough",there's so many people out there who are so gullible and very vulnerable, mostly specially those who in provinces or rural areas...which is why there's so many of these MLM's and they victimized so many people...
A lot of people who get roped into MLMs are young people who don’t have the experience and knowledge to spot one. I almost got roped into a MLM scheme, myself, when I was in my early 20s. Luckily, I had friends and family around me who were able to warn me and pull me back from the brink.
The other day someone tried to recruit me and it actually took a lot of research to figure out that it was a pyramid scheme. It was all "things are really hard right now I work with someone who is trying to find people to employ!!" But like, I knew something was off because he was a stranger PMing me on Facebook... I checked out his profile and it was all about the pyramid scheme, I couldn't even tell what they were selling so I had to Google it, turned out to be a real estate MLM business. But if someone was super desperate I can see how they would just see a job offer...

I have a friend who's involved with Amway and have joked that he's in a pyramid scheme. How exactly do you believe Amyway is a pyramid scheme? So I can show him the light
@@barkaviouswarmack4748 the whole company is based on new people constantly coming and paying all the fees, otherwise it would go bankrupt. Which is also the definition of pyramid scheme. I'd recommend you a subreddit r/antiMLM which includes more about all MLM companies and also a list of companies known to be MLMs aka pyramid schemes
I've seen The Office like 3 times now, and I've always thought this... Michael is an idiot, but he's not stupid and he cares deeply about his loved ones and friends/coworkers (Toby excluded)
*"You have to unleash the power of the pyramid!"*
-Stanley
This sounds like those Amway guys always trying to recruit me
You're absolutely right. Amway is also a pyramid scheme.
The amway and the mawmines are always trying to recruit me
My parents got pulled into that shit,we bought a ton of stuff realised it's bullshit and got out as well.
Amway is just the supplier. That’s like saying Cisco foods is always McDonald’s food. There are pyramid schemes that have people involved in Amway but Amway itself is just how you become an IBO.
Ryan Barham No, it’s not because first of all, pyramids are illegal and get shut down in their beginning and Amway has been going for 50 years close to 51. In a pyramid them employee will never make enough money as the boss. In Amway, there are no bosses. There are uplines which aren’t bosses because they don’t tell the people they recruit when to work and they don’t pay them and they don’t tell them they have to do anything and the recruits can always make more than the uplines.
love that he has to see a triangle for him to understand, and he fully understands just based on that shape
1:09 I think Jim almost broke character because the scene was too funny. I don't think he was supposed to smirk there, but maintain a deadpan face.
I got less "amused" and more "...yep"
defeated Micheal: “I have to go make a call” 😂
That's just the regular Jim face.
@Ranit Mukherjee bro chill
I think Gavin is right.. he did break character but it all worked out anyway.
“Sounds like a get rich quick scheme”
“Yes, thank you!”
Gets me every time 🤣🤣
Similar to S3 when Karen says Michael is misogynistic. He said thank you
Dwight's reactions to all this are underrated 😂
"Raise your hand if you wanna get rich."
Taking notes 😂🤣
1:11 Jim trying to hold back his laugh😂
Best show ever.
It's genius comedy
Not as good as the UK version that this came from
Arthur Menges lol, if that's the case, why did they want to copy the format? Also, you do realise that Ricky Gervais worked on the us version of the office?
Arthur Menges funny how you say Gervais isnt even close to funny, yet then admit that he helped behind the scenes on this, and that he was onto something with the show format.
Arthur Menges You're clearly not British lol. Keep your shitty Steve Carrell.
Maybe next time they can come up with an original idea rather than copying a British show? Then again, probably not...
jim's delivery here the perfect triangle and straight face is gold....
I love how Jim just casually gets ups and draws a triangle
"It's not even a scheme per se." Steve Carell is such an amazing actor!
I like how quickly Michael realized once Jim drew the pyramid
It’s not a pyramid scheme, it’s a financial freedom triangle. - every financial schemer
Before Jim gets up, Oscar looks at him like "go ahead man, do it".
I love the fact that someone literally has to draw him a diagram before he catches on
I just love Dwight's eyebrow twitch, like he's figuring things out just as fast as Michael is 😂😂
I wish it was that easy to snap these people out of pyramid schemes.
Same. My brother is deeply embedded in one and my parents enable him 😔
I love how Jim knows exactly what off handed thing to do to make Micheal understand XD
I like how Jim knows Michael so well that he knows how to immediately change Michael's mind on something he's wrong about.
“Don’t worry about Phil, he drives a Corvette. This dude is fine.” 😂
As someone who’s had severe ocd growing up, watching Jim’s triangle be reasonably symmetrical gave me life as a middle schooler lol
0:10 when you secure the route to Kamoshida's treasure
I’m legit impressed by how straight Jim made that triangle so fast.
If only Jim would have offered Michael a calling card when he walks off to make a call.
Omg that would be hilarious
1:04
Can we get a little love for that beautiful equilateral triangle?
Yeah if I tried that, I'd fail a DUI test without drinking or driving. That is a real talent. @.@ Mine would be all squiggly. XD
The trick is to lead with your elbow!
And equiangular
0:58 Oscar's brain: "Jim, you know what to do."
I've been roped into one of these before. its usually some hot girl that acts all sweet and lures you in then you're next to a bunch of asian guys who all got roped in by the same girl
Yup, that’s why I carry roofies so them girls waking up with one of their kidney missing.
Always Never
Fucking creep, you’re fucked in the head.
zain
If you’re using sex appeal to bait people into a scheme, then you also accept the risk of sex appeal backfiring on you :)
Sydney Carton Two horrible people is still two horrible people.
zain kinda seems like a joke...
1:16 POV: You are a kindergartener who just said the word “poopy”. This is what your teacher says as he goes if to call your parents
Holy shit, I thought that bullshit only existed here in Argentina lol they go with the same speech here lmao
uhm,not all people are intelligent "enough",there's so many people out there who are so gullible and very vulnerable, mostly specially those who in provinces or rural areas...which is why there's so many of these MLM's and they victimized so many people...
A lot of people who get roped into MLMs are young people who don’t have the experience and knowledge to spot one. I almost got roped into a MLM scheme, myself, when I was in my early 20s. Luckily, I had friends and family around me who were able to warn me and pull me back from the brink.
Some people never internalize the old maxim: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The other day someone tried to recruit me and it actually took a lot of research to figure out that it was a pyramid scheme. It was all "things are really hard right now I work with someone who is trying to find people to employ!!"
But like, I knew something was off because he was a stranger PMing me on Facebook... I checked out his profile and it was all about the pyramid scheme, I couldn't even tell what they were selling so I had to Google it, turned out to be a real estate MLM business.
But if someone was super desperate I can see how they would just see a job offer...
Love how he casually says "calling cards are the WAVE of the future". It's subtle, but it's one to add up to Michael's many mispronunciations.
I like how Michael says its "not even a scheme per se" at the end like it being a scheme is the most unimportant detail
The funny thing is that Ice Poseidons investor of $2M (Casey) also drives a Corvette in real life just like Phil!!!
You can't make this shit up!! 😅
Skylander yes you can. You’ve seen Star Wars? They made all that shit up. You can make any shit up.
God Bless the Human who keeps this show alive...
Edit: Thx for 7 likes😂😂😂
Random Human d
Random Human The show ended
Random Human edited tooo soon😂😂😂
Bad Cactus I know but the unknown uploader keeps posting videos/clips about the show even though it ended
but the show isn't alive.
Stanley’s utter look of disbelief 🤣🤣
My favorite show, ever. No contest.
Ice Poseidon is running a great reverse funnel scheme!
I'm impressed by everyone keeping a straight face. 😂😂 This dude is hilarious
You can see Ryan trying not to laugh.
Jim is my hero. Drew three lines without saying a word to devastate Michael. So smooth.
Anyone in 2020 considering a 'Blessing Loom' - imagine what Jim drew, in 3D, from a Birdseye point of view. Now, go spend that $1,200 on something productive.
One of my favorite parts in the office is always Jim glancing at the camera
Send this to everyone trying to get you into primerica 😂😂
Are you kidding Toby SUCKS
Or Cutco knives lol
KingKristo _ or Obama Care 😂
What’s Primerica
lmao i almost got into that bogus crap
When Michael says not to worry about Phil, as he drives a Corvette so he’s doing just fine, Dwight takes notes. Never noticed that.
Also a great statement on the hypocrisy of those who lure people into pyramid schemes.
I love how it took a triangle to make Michael understand that it's a pyramid scheme😂
Make a best of the party planning committee please🙏
