I was just there last week. Most people start the hike in the morning around 7am, and it generally takes around 4 hours each way. So since he got there so early that's probably why there's nobody else. I've heard of people waiting over an hour in line just to get a picture on the "tongue".
As always beautiful views with those unreal sheets of ice and unusual rock formations, specially that small balancing the big one.This time an out of context fleeting thought came to mind , " Why is Elon Musk so keen on going to Mars?" We already have such beautiful areas here on earth itself. On second thoughts. NO, it will spoil it's unique PRISTINE beauty. Btw was there water below the extended rock, where you sat or only rocks?😳 Stay safe.
