Mallow is my favorite plant. It's what got me started wildcrafting. I use it in my soaps, balms, teas and to snack on while I'm in the garden. Here in California, our mallow has tiny little purple flowers so people just treat it like a weed. But it's so wonderful.
@VizAnyaMSC, I picked some from my yard and sauteed them with garlic. Yummy! I will try the plants as tea. Do you use the roots and leaves? I can't believe I have been pulling this "weed" and throwing it away for years without realizing how wonderful it is for us. Cheers.
@thisorthat7626 I use mostly the roots but leaves and flowers too. I add mint, honey and a little lemon. I cold brew it for 8 hours in the fridge. It's good for sore throats, too.
Where in CA are you. I live in the Central Valley and started appreciating this marvelous plant a couple of years ago, but mainly the leaves I’m going to start using the roots too 😊
I love the purple flowers😊 I use the leafs in my herbal smoking mix( replace tobacco with herbs) its much healthier for someone that actually enjoys to smoke 😊🙃🙃
Amazing info as always Dane! I’ve been banging on to my son about this plant as it was growing abundantly in his garden! He pulled up a lot dismissing it as a weed!! I’m sending him this in the hope he will respect it as a gift! Honour what it has to offer to the bees and all its healing! 🐝🌀🦋
Love everything about this channel! I can not go without mentioning how much I enjoy the theme song you have chosen for your videos; i could listen to that lovely guitar alk day long! 😘 from California.
Beautiful Job my friend..if people aren’t able to fall in love with Mallow now, and you, then surely pop tarts have melted their brains to duff. Your own passionate love of all that grows is what i appreciate the most, besides your great story telling and plant info..which is spot on i might add. Mallow seeds are second to eating berries in my world. Thanks for the good time!
Softness of the Forest love this!! . I'm a big cheer leader of the common Mallow even over the officinales variety which doesn't produce as generous a yield. Love your content.
This video is amazing thank you! I've been growing Common Mallow in my garden (in Scotland) this Summer and I am harvesting and looking for ways to preserve and store it now. Your videos are beautiful, so calming yet uplifting, even the intro music 🥰🙏🏼 will try to buy your book very soon I think. All the best!
I love to see the beautiful Mallow plant - out now by the roadside! Sadly not used it yet 'tho - usually too few to harvest but this year I hope to cultivate some. But I'll still leave the musk (woodland variety). Thanks for the info - I keep forgetting...
Great information. Thanks for sharing. In Morocco they make a delicious dish that is made from the mallow plant, but I didn't realize the entire plant was edible. We have it all over our village, so I'll be trying some of your tips for sure!
My Nan used to pick mallow I’m tryna figure out if I’ve identified the right thing because I’m loving it and craving it, it’s so delicious how my Nan used to cook it, she used to fry it with garlic then squeeze lemon on it after
amazing videos my friend. Ive been curious about foraging, and was once at a foraging workshop. This was a plant I chose then to observe, but had forgotten about it. Your videos are super clear, interesting and make the process of learning about plants suddenly not so overwelming. Thank you!
Thank you for the knowledge, we need to retain this knowledge and pass it on to our children, we can't let big pharma control our health so we must work with mother nature that is already perfectly made for our health
Thank you so much for this video. I saw loads of these today. Could you please do a video showing how you utilities these to made food and medicine. Have a blessed weekend
Great video. I have also Malva Alcea but i can not find much how it's used by humans. The bees are happy with it though. But it would be awesome to use it somehow.
I've tried the leaves but the fuzzy bits got stuck in my throat and it was quite unpleasant... maybe I should try and find less fuzzy leaves... Any advice?
I've just found your channel. I'm living in the UK, there is a massive shrub at the back of my garden, it's just sprouted big pink flowers, looks similar to this one in the video but the leaves are longer and more pointy. Do you think it might still be a mallow? Thanks 👍
Musk mallow (Malva moschata) grows near me. I'm going to assume that it too is edible....???? I have eaten the "cheese wheels" but not the pink flower or the leaves. Not yet!
🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀 it’s made to create cheese. It’s a thickener otherwise you would have to kill a calf, open it up its stomach and get the juices Rennett for making cheese. Also, jams jellies like pectin 🫕
The first time I noticed Mallow it was growing out of our pavement at our front door. We kept walking on it as we went in the door. When I was looking at nutritional herbs , I recognised it from watching RUclips and in books. Then I was happy that it started popping up in our back yard. The rabbit loves it, but the chickens leave it alone.
Jesus made the world an everything an said it was good lots of herbs mentioned their.i guess iam not a witchy kinda guy. Why cus witches love satan who has brought All wickedness to earth.just sharing .love your vids

Love the cheeses!

Often if you cook fuzzy leaves, that quality subsides
The mallow that grows here in Minnesota, USA has heart shaped leaves that aren't scalloped and the flowers are mostly white. Are they still edible?

It might be related but I wouldn’t assume it’s the same
❤
Does this grow on tropical areas?

In Alberta we have found leaf mallow... it is a nasty weed. Is it the same properties?
Hiya Jackie, with out seeing it in person we wouldn't like to say. Best to leave alone if your not 100percent sure what it is ✌❤
Flowers look like rose of sharon
The seeds look like sea urchin shells💯👁️
Apart from the pagan folklore. Thank you for the great informative video!
