Excellent....excellent... video. The use of real-world encounters, conditions, honesty, and vulnerability increases the value of this production...in my opinion. Well done👍🏽 and Thanks, again.
Thanks for this Great video. Very detailed. I came across all the issues you mentioned. The bracket didn't fit so I had to replace it with the new one. The holes on the top to secure the microwave did not align with the previous drilled holes so I had to place new ones. The most difficult part was measuring and getting the holes right where they needed to be. I missed the first time because I took exact measurements and did not take in consideration the space that the bracket was going to take when i place it behind. But i fixed that the second time so don't make the same mistake as i did.
Great video. Thx. Question: why did one microwave trip the breaker and the new one not? Same manufacturer? When microwaves start, they do have a power kick to them. So do electric ranges. I have a gas range, so hopefully that won't be an issue.
Common issue are the door interlock switches. Worst thing you can do is open door while microwave still running. Power arcs across switch contacts. Always pause or stop before opening door.
@@mariescofield3224You do you. I wouldn’t, personally. Plus, not all are going to keep/store strong and sturdy boxes for just such an occasion. The microwave also needs to tilt down, so it can be then lifted off the wall bracket. Much easier to lift off that bracket if you are under the microwave, than reaching over the range.
Good Job...!! Like that you used the S.W.A.G. system... I use it with great frequency. Surprised the Frigidaire didn't have templates for the hole placements. S.W.A.G. = Scientific Wild Ass Guess
Thanks for the video, mine hasn't gone out yet but now I know how it's stuck to the wall for when it inevitably goes out. Bonus tip: Find something the wife can "help" you with, even if you really don't need it. It will make her feel handy. :)
Skip the ryobi and pay the negligible difference for a Dewalt. I went through 3 sets of ryobi drill/drivers in less than 2 years, built like crap and don't last long enough to justify the price. Also, it's called a hole saw.
That would certainly be ideal. Would seem that is not how my house was wired. But it is a gas stove, which does not require very many amps to power the small digital control panel, which is probably why they have them on the same breaker.
This is my biggest complaint I have for appliance makers! Why do they make you drill more holes in particle board for the same brand microwave? Same manufacturer! Someone needs to beat the CEO of Frigidaire for not telling his designers "Hey why don't we !make it easy for installation and standardize these holes and brackets! I hate engineers! yes I get so you have to hire a professional installer, but it is just stupidity!
im about to have to pull one of these, for unspeakable reasons......... its also got a broken handle so its not going back in and i plan to do a new backsplash if anything and put a range hood in.. these above range microhoods are JUNK
Thank you for this. Definitely answered all of my questions!

Thanks for the refresher… quick tip…ryobi sells a rechargeable screwdriver mini drill… works wonders for screws in small areas or even general use.
I do love me some Ryobi.

Same issue I had. It was a $2 microswitch (door closed interlock) 10 min fix. Great video though. I need it for something else

I would NEVER get another Frigidaire Gallery!

Thanks a bunch. Mine just broke, and I didn't know how they attached. Now I can shop with more confidence.

Wedge a strong and sturdy box(es) between the range and the microwave oven instead of removing the range. Much easier in every way

Where’s your fume hood?
There is no requirement that your Over The Range (OTR) Microwave be vented to the outdoors.
Did not come free for me. Something else is holding it in

I know I’m probably late to the party… but microwave supposed to be on its own breaker, depending on code of course.
