Hi aussie beekeeping. Queensland beekeeper here.I find my most gentlest of bees get angry when it’s windy. Sometimes we can’t predict the weather when we inspect but I try to check temperament over different conditions. That being said there’s nothing worse than hot hive to inspect. Love your videos cheers
My bees... That little bit of wrist between your leather glove and when the suit sleeve rides up. They know it is ripe for a sting!!😂 (I have now doubled up the linen on the linen part of my gauntlets)
I have never seen a clear hive before! That is fantastic and simply beautiful!!! I love it! Your bee suit doesn't seem to be very protective for you. I've never been stung through mine unless a bee ended up under my veil. I guess I am very lucky, but I do seem to have a very aggressive hive this year. I got popped in the face 4 times earlier this year and then I decided a bee suit was needed. I normally didnt need them for my bees. I am not sure what you use to put on your bee stings, but I strongly suggest honey. For the stings on my face, I applied honey and had no reaction at all. No itching, no swelling and no problem. But I also got stung on the knee and didnt put anything on it. My knee was swollen, itchy, red and irritated for about a week. I learned my lesson and honey goes on all my stings! Its beautiful stuff! :) Thanks for the video!
Thank you. Yes my suit was crap. I recently got another from Honsby Beekeeping and it’s amazing. I’m lucky that stings don’t really get itchy so I don’t have to put anything on them but it’s a good tip.
How many hives have you got are they all there. You do a lot if splitting or do you sell them. You should do a vid on what you do with honey or sell bees sort of thing.
Really peacefully to watch. Nice music and nature in between. Just wondering, you killed the Queen because her offspring was to aggressive. Won't they stay aggressive? And the brood? That's still from the old queen. Won't they still be the aggressive kind? Or will the new queen change the vibe of the hive?
Mate love your camera work on "clear hive", just fantastic. Vids r gr8, thank u so much.
I was going to make the same comment. First rate camera work. BTW: you were fully suited up and gloved. Where were you getting stung?

Loved the abandoned beehive videos.
Just curious...Why is the hive in this video called the Purple hive? 😊

Just grab a hand full of wild flowers and rub them on.
great hives
Thanks
Nice work. Finally worked up the courage to go gloveless in my re-queened hives the other day.
Got 1 sting.
Through the suit 🤣
😂
you should get your self a three layer mesh jacket or suit, I have one and never get stung through it
I had a jacket. Triple layer and breathable. But the veil failed and I was gifted this one. I’m planning to return to a good quality one.
@@aussiebeekeepingyou just answered my question on how you were getting stung
Why does the brood frame have wood across the middle? Does that help to sturdy it if you don't use wire?
It’s a special frame for harvesting cut honey comb. I just use it anywhere.
Jeez their onto you in this episode,
You get stung a lot. And this is just one video. I feel with you. I always wear a suit to my bee yard 🐝😊. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks 😀

I’ve got 12 Langstroth hives, some nucs and the top bar. All currently in the one yard. I sell nucs. Thanks for the vid ideas :)
What kind of box are these they on my screen appear to be very deep
These boxes are 245mm deep or 9.8 inches. Pretty standard here
Hey when you extract are you spinning or crushing? wondering how you go with the foundation less frames
Spinning. Do you mean without plastics foundation? Of just the draw comb? Seems fine.
@@aussiebeekeeping yeah should have said plastic, so works ok then?
As long as I don’t try to spin them too hard it’s fine. :)
She'll bee easy to see!🤣
Lol
Which area in Melbourne your apiary located
It’s not in Melbourne.
It’s in The Otways National park.

Thankyou.
Once the queen lays new eggs they will hatch and have her temperament. This making them a gentle hive again.
Chalkbrood? Get rid of that hive, frames and all.
so rough with hives
why did you replace the queen?..cause they were aggressive?..
Yes
Hmmm no sound bud😔
Sound on my three devices.
@@aussiebeekeepingsound here too!
Haha do u always scream like that each time you get stung ??
I do when they are in the inside of my thigh and between my should blades. 😁😁
Lol, I still swat at them even though I have a suit on!
@@aussiebeekeeping Sounds like the ladies in WV (USA) trained to hit the jewels by the fathers here. LOL
That was Shite, leaving all that paint on the queen. 30 seconds out of your life to wipe her off... Be kind
