RPIrates: Revisiting ChatBS (02 Oct 2024)

First deployed in mid-2023, ChatBS is an accessible, extensible, R Shiny-based platform for interactive experimentation with LLMs including GPT 4 variants and Llama3. ChatBS makes it easy for users to conduct sophisticated prompt experiments that might be difficult or impossible through the normal ChatGPT-like user interfaces, and would normally be done by directly accessing an API programmatically. ChatBS enables users to quickly incorporate popular prompting techniques, including making multiple submissions, comparing results from different models, and employing a “step-by-step” approach to emulating reasoning. ChatBS includes a web search using LLM- generated content and entity resolution against open knowledge graphs.
