I had to go get a usb to gigabit adapter. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get the “wifi no connection” message to stop popping up every 30 mins or so. Other then that the device is pretty solid

I was about to buy one from second-hand. Should I buy it?
Been using this since 2018 and it's great. If you're planning on using usb ethernet adapter like me and I've tried a lot of them but those usb hub with ethernet adapter usually fails. The one with AX88179 chip and solely for ethernet connections works great because mi box s has kinda bad usb power management. You can sideload apps and even stream pc games over local connection

@@olegelit7314 yes you can remove the account after setting up and updating apps but I suggest to just make a new gmail for the family tv that's what I did so It can have personalisation on services like RUclips and it won't be giving too random content and keep apps up to date.
I have these but i don't like it because it doesn't have Ethernet port and chrome cast it's not working well

Yes with some extra stuff. Not sure what its called, but yes.
I've had it a few years and a couple of issues. Bluetooth speakers don't reconnect and have to be paired again every time. Also, box turns off when my tv does but doesn't turn back on when the tv comes on. Remote is garbage
Was test performed in HD 1080 or UHD 4k resolution? PLS perform the test running Mi Box in 4k-60fps.
It supports 4k but it will buffer based on your Internet speed but it will adjust after few seconds

@@anacatart nema na cemu, ako se desi da ti nekad secka, baferuje ili izbacuje, znaj da he to trenutno, eto do juce 5 dana je kocilo na tv kanale, a filmove je bafero so i izbacivalo upozorenje kao spori protik interneta i puca tj izbacuje iz programa, dok juce ujutru prvo nije radio link da bi samo pola sata jasnije prorafilo, tv radi oerfektno, filmovi ne baferuju i rade odlicno, jefino sto sam primetio malo sporije ucitava prilikom ulaska u program, meni bitno da sve sljaka kako treba dok strane filmove i serije koristim netflix

Device don't get hot or get leaggy on the long term.
Price/quality is worh it
I bought also 1 year ago the Google Nest tv. I prefer this one over the Xiaomi Mi box.

It does get a tiny bit hot over prolonged use (RUclips and netflix). but that's expected.
The TiVo Stream 4K is Better, cheaper, much better remote (classic TiVo Style Intuitive Remote) and it's running Android 10.

You like the fact that you can use chromecast to cast your games on the TV?? Are you kidding me?? There is no need for this box if you already have a decent phone! You can just use the phone to cast ANYTHING on ANY smart TV AND BENEFIT FROM THE 8-16 GB DDR4 RAM (as opposed to this box that has 2GB DDR3) and the quad / octa core 2.4+ Ghz CPU and dedicated SNAPDRAGON GPU on it. If you have ANY decent phone, you literally are wasting money buying this. WTF is this review?

It handles 4k from my USB drive easy. Install a player like Kodi or VLC yourself. It's not hard...

i hate the android interface, it looks like a cluttered phone desktop. For TV I want it more like an appletv experience, very minimalist
