Not seeing lionfish, I would expect they would be all over that rocky reef. Thanks for videos, I got started free diving to spearfish and catch lobster in the late sixties a spinoff from surfing. First tank diving around 1968. Great videos brings back lot of great memories, age caught up with me.

Hi Dan and Michael, I'm a fan and enjoy watching all your videos good job and very professional.
,I've scuba and spearfish all over for many years and I've also hunted wild animals. The difference is when you spear a fish and trying to retrieve it, even a large fish like a grouper, tuna, barracuda, wahoo, they don't (fight back and try to bite you) defending themselves while trying to get a way. But with a wild animal if he is not down! there's a good chance he'll fight and even come after you! . my point is, most fish in the ocean will not harm human even when you hurt them but on land ! Animals will fight back when attacked. I don't hunt anymore. This is just something I wondered often .Just sharing my thoughts. Thank you.😀

I prefer to use a cage trap rather than spearing them, as spearing them is a cruel for me..they are our bounty food but we must balance in caring and protecting them...God is watching us...

They are custom guns built by the Headhunter guys.
Just wondering why his spear doesn't have rope line? It could be helpful especially when a fish goes under the corals after getting hit.
To save time and free the shaft
with scuba the line more so gets in the way. you are better off focusing on only taking clean lethal shots. reload time is much longer with shooting line and is also easy to get tangled in. fish shot well don't go far and are easy to chase down. when spearfishing while freediving the line is used for the diver to get to the surface to breathe.
