Its always awesome to see abandoned railroads live once more. It seems like railroads are making a comeback. Ah I love shortlines 😌

It's so great to see that line active. I would like to see them gain and expand their customers. Rail is the way to move anything that needs to be shipped. Do they operate passenger excursions on that line? Seems like I remember that they had a passenger engine in prior years videos. (the kitty's pal-allen from Ga)

From what I've read they're definitely looking to expand their customer base especially between Milford and Franklin. Back in 2014/2015 they ran a Polar Express excursion around the holidays. The cost was most likely the reason to not continue. The railroad owner also owns Edavillle Railroad so it makes sense to concentrate on that versus expanding excursions.

Sounds like they have ribbon rail on there that's pretty impressive

I remember when those tracks were so overgrown with brush that I thought they would never be used again. I think they were out of service for decades. Did anything go south of Rt. 16 during the 1980s? I remember that crossing was in bad shape back then. Even in the 1990s Hopedale was marooned with the tracks overgrown to the north of the yard. Actually saw small trees growing up between the ties.

The line is fully functional from North Grafton to Depot Street in Milford. They completed the restoration from Hopedale to Milford in 2020. I too remember when the line was only used by Washington Mills in North Grafton. Many road crossings in Grafton and Upton have lights and gates now as well.

@@centralmassflicks8722 Let's hope their customers stay in business. I would hate to see the line go back to the way it was during the last 35 years. I thought the line was done for good back then.

These are mp15ac diesel switchers built by general motors division a.k.a emd.you wont find no locomotives from any other builder that can out SWITCH these girls. They are known for their reliability and dependability and efficiency and ease of maintenance.

Long Island RR used MP 15 in passenger service during the 1980s and 1990s

What is the engine in this video? I have not seen a switch engine like that since the 1960’s.

THESE TWO TWINS ARE FIRMER CSX MP15AC SWITCHERS FROM EMD SINCE EMMD IS SENDING MANY IF THESE TO LETX, FINDING SOME ON CSX IS GETTING DIFFICULT!
