I agree about the toasts! 1000% Also…toasts before dinner is my jam! More time to mix dinner crates 🤜🏼💥 more time on the dance floor. Talk about it with your couples, speaking only if they have 2 to 3 speakers.
Really digging this recap and vlog. The fact you guys met working weddings is so rad. You guys have a killer dynamic and I sure appreciate the dope content and effort to help the DJ community. Mad respect, Kev & Teddi 🚀🔥🙌❤️
I'm glad you brought up the "dirty" or street versions of records. I pride myself on being the total opposite and being squeaky clean that can still mix/talk like it's a nightclub. Had a couple say...yeeeeeeeeeeeah we want the real deal, uncensored stuff. Gonna be a wild one.
Hey Kevin and Teddi! I’m seeing some throwbacks get revived. The explicit lyrics trend I’m blaming on Spinelli, so now I have people come up and tell me how inappropriate it is for me to have that one word blasting as a Caucasian DJ. But I gotta take the heat for my couples, apparently this is just a new fight I have to fight.
I SWORE I wrote a response to this lol. IMO you are still entitled to your own comfort zone, but also like... its music. so the guest can chill. I have a super power of being an ass hole that loves to antagonize and "poke the bear" so I LOVE when people hate me, but it definitely helps in those moments when a guest thinks their opinion is more important than the people who hired you.
@@djhikevinI totally agree about guests who think they are owed too much! It’s a bit difficult to have a conversation about racism in America while I’m trying to work the dance floor. I’m usually like hey man, I’m just doing what I’m hired to do and let them interpret that as they wish.
I too bring my girlfriend (or my brother) as assistants to my weddings. Unfortunately setting up and tearing down isn't something they enjoy helping on. Any tips on how to change that? 😅
Hmm Is there anything in particular they don’t like about it? Can always come up with a system if there are certain things they don’t particularly like setting up or tearing down. Like I’ll set up the speakers you start on the table, or you start unplugging and wrapping cables and I’ll start putting equipment away. Just work together and come u with the best move for everyone!
@@rupturedjyeahhh I feel like that is definitely no ones favorite! I know we take a foldable wagon to throw whatever we can in to make it easier and just always try to stack stuff to make the least amount of trips possible!
Heyyy thanks for the comment! That’s super tough, if I’ve ever had reluctant assistants (not teddi lol) I just get there extra early and set it all up myself. Then at least they can’t complain about the first half. Or compensate them for extra work, give them options. “If you want to make $250 then that is set up, event and tear down. That means getting there at x:xx and leaving once the car is packed. If you want to make $100 then you show up…. “ So on so forth. Hope that helps… Maybe teddi and I should do another q and an and go into this more!
Best thing that my assistant has ever done is being dependable and prompt!
Dependability is HUGE in the wedding world!
Thats really the biggest one haha if you don't show up you cant do anything else!

Toasts before dinner is so much better. Someone tag all the midwest coordinators!
Shout out to Teddi for keeping that schedule and reminding the workaholics we need some couch potato time!
Duuuude foreal!!
❤❤❤ yes! We all do! Even Kevin has to yell at me to relax once in awhile lol
