  • The OG tall-guy point forward, Tim Thomas, joins the fellas for another episode of Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles. Tim talks about coming up in Newark, being one of the state’s greatest. Then he gets into the 1996 McDonald's All-American game with Kobe, when they were ranked No.1 and No.2 in the country. He discusses what it was like to come up the ranks with Kobe and why he ended up choosing Villanova over going straight to the league. Tim gets into his time in Philly, his experiences with those great '90s Bucks teams, and what it was like playing for three different teams in one season. He also talks about coming home to play with the Knicks and how he got to be close friends with 50 Cent, then tells about the AAU program he runs for kids in Jersey and shares what he thinks about Kevin Durant taking the tall-guy shooters' reputation to a whole new level. Tim’s a real OG, so listen up!

You got to remember at that time the league didn't know how to utilize Tim because he wasn't your traditional power forward he was ahead of his time.... he really ushered in the stretch 4 that can dribble pass and shoot. After him look how many "all around" stretch 4 came into the league(not just the stretch 4 that can shoot)....

Dope interview. I remember when Tim Thomas played for the Bucks & used to wear the two headbands overlapping. That's when I saw him give everybody work. Would love to see Delisha Milton & Swin Cash from the WNBA side get an interview & would like to see some OGs get interviewed, like Otis Birdsong & Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell, just to name a few. Not sure if this comment will be read by the Knuckleheads, so I'll leave it there. I will say this; my daughter plays volleyball (made the Varsity team as an 8th Grader last year) & every time she get a kill/spike, she taps her head like y'all used to do on the court lol!!! I taught her that...

Imagine if the Sixers ended up with the 1st pick and then drafted Duncan. Duncan and Iverson duo would have been sick to watch. In my opinion the kids of today ( the small group that actually make it ) are super driven and I'm honestly impressed by their work ethic and dedication to being the best, I mean most of them take the initiative to train and work out outside of scheduled team activities ( practice, games, team work outs ), I mean yeah now a days kids today may have access to more to work with than they did back then but work is work which makes me think that even if they didn't have access to more things that they would still work just as hard and and possibly be just as good as those stand outs back then .

That’s big of LeBron saying “you’re better than that.” and how crazy it is that the right person saying the right thing at the right time can flip that switch in your life! So to any of my fellas/ladies going through anything out there just know that it’s gon be aight! “You’re better than that!” Ig:jonnymosesllc

As a Bulls fan, hearing how they did Tim dirty...no wonder we couldn't land no big free agents. The organization isnstill screwed up till this day

I think that's the reason Rick Pitino had him run the entire pre-draft workout. His effort was always questioned. Had he matched his talent with skillset, he would have been one of the best in the game.

Tim Thomas one of those players I always felt should've been way better than he was. With his size and skill he should've been a perennial all star. He just didn't have that dog in him

Sometimes it's the system you in, or coaches decision or upper management. Kobe sat on the bench for 1.5 years. Guys like Dale Ellis or Alex English had to get to a different team to show they belong on the floor. It not always the player.

System. He basically became a spot up shooter for the rest of his career. Too ahead of his time. He would strive in today’s fast pace 3 point shooting.
