- Tim Thomas's second best career outing in points and his high during his stint with the New York Knicks. The game came after Thomas had rebounded from a subpar start to the season for which he was reportedly booed at the Madison Square Garden. Apparently Thomas had some personal problems during that time period.
You can see the devastating nature of his talent in this performance. He can space out the court, drive past bigger guys if they have to pick him up far from the basket or post up smaller guys and shoot over them. Plenty of his signature fadeaway shots from the left block are made in this game. By the way, I cannot put my finger on what makes them so unique. Is it the way he contorts his body? He seems to fall back only with his shoulders, yet raises the ball straight up so that it isn't even released that far away from the defender. Either way, when you see it, you recognize it as Tim Thomas's shot. February 28, 2005.

Right ! He had a Jason Tatum type of game but just not as good consistently.
More of a smoother Micheal Finely type but taller

@@cerebralmindgame9818 Mike Finley was a 2time all star that easily could have went 3 or 1other year if it wasn't for politics. He was dunked super hard on alot of teams and players and had a nice 1 2 dribble pull up jumper and set shot from behind the arc. HE DEFINITELY IS A OG

I don't know what makes someone love something they have talent in... I remember when Tim Thomas was drafted by the Sixers and I mused to a few fellow fans... Well between this guy and The Answer, forget about it. He gets traded to Milwaukee who was already stacked and thought it interesting because he was a part of a talent reshuffle which seemed to last like eight seasons there. He was eventually traded to my Knicks and I thought "if only he could love what he does" Tim Thomas should have been one of the greatest small forwards of all time. Ray Allen said it best "It's like a 6'10 Kobe" and he was right. Everywhere he played he would have like three games at random times where he was the most unstoppable scorer. I remember him in Phoenix when they played the Mavs and the first 24 minutes they simply had nothing for him. I could go on but I won't. It's my opinion that Tim Thomas simply didn't love basketball.
If he had tapped into his full potential the sky was the limit
he could have been so much more.... he had handle, a good jump-shot, range could hit the three, excellent athlete, very good mid range game and was 6'10 could back down and post smaller defenders at the #3 or blow pass bigger yet slower forwards at the #4

@@mkeskate08 he was born in the wrong era. Had he been around during the space-and-pace era, we'd be having a very different conversation about the arc of his career. We saw a snippet of what he could be that half-a-season he played with the Suns in the playoffs. Unfortunately for him, his body began failing him at that point and he was out the league soon thereafter. But he was definitely a 4-man for most his career, forced to be a 3.
I also think Marbury's career would be radically different in this era that respects scoring PGs. The Knicks are bozos for trying to turn him into something he's not.
@@TheTwinkiefoot he what he is, stephen jackson had a similar game, you can say that those guy may succeed more in this era coz all they need to do is defend and shoot more 3s, the difference between stak and tim is the desire to play hard. Both can handle but their handles wasnt guard like but stak was in better shape to guard premier sf/sg's like pierce, tmac kobe in the 2000s era ,

#1 Player in the '96 Class since 8th grade alongside Kobe, but just didn't have the work ethic to be GREAT!
Probably better than Kobe until the 12th grade, if he had the intensity, who knows?
