You're not alone - I'm not from Minnesota, but KG was and still is my all-time favorite. The man could do everything on the court, he loved his team's community, (both in Minnesota and Boston, I admit I didn't follow the Brooklyn years super-close) stayed mostly-if-not-completely free of controversy and legal trouble throughout his career, and even towards the end he was still playing at a well-above-average level. I realize he doesn't have as much hardware as a lot of the more talked-about folks in GOAT conversations, but that's sure as shit not his fault.

Karl Anthony Towns. KG has been mentoring him all year long and probably will continue doing so even after retirement. He's in a perfect situation, great young talent around him, great coach in Thibodeao and a great fucking mentor in KG. So we don't have to wait another 10 years, the next KG already is here and he's playing in Minnesota ironically enough.
I see more of KG in Anthony Davis then I do KAT tbh, the quickness, length, hand speed, ick and pop midrange jumpshot, and defensive ability. KAT is more of a inside post/ pick and pop/ good passer. But defensively he's nothing close to KG

Make it 3 peat to 2010. Allen KG and Pierce will stay in Boston until 2013. Dynasty.
every KG opponent player ever: "i have the ball now! but here comes KG...FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
Hugely underrated. My top 5 fav player of all time. In his prime if with amazing talent around he would've won like three championships
I’m 18 and I remember growing up watching kg play in Minnesota so to see him come back and teach KAT was awesome the wolves have a bright future thanks to KG...gonna miss him
The 10th one gave me chills. He was so happy.
For me, KG was in top 10 all time...
Not even close, maybe 10 all time defense but can’t be 10 all time with only 1 chip and 1 mvp and wasn’t finals mvp in his only ring I can name 20 players better
@@YoungBlood507 Did you see the 'for me' in the comment?
You're not alone - I'm not from Minnesota, but KG was and still is my all-time favorite. The man could do everything on the court, he loved his team's community, (both in Minnesota and Boston, I admit I didn't follow the Brooklyn years super-close) stayed mostly-if-not-completely free of controversy and legal trouble throughout his career, and even towards the end he was still playing at a well-above-average level. I realize he doesn't have as much hardware as a lot of the more talked-about folks in GOAT conversations, but that's sure as shit not his fault.
@@YoungBlood507 people put way too many team accomplishments as requisites for individual rankings. Winning chips isn't everything. Defense is half of the game, KG is one of if not the best defensive players of all time. He led his team in EVERY major statistic for a season. One of the greatest PF's of all time.
@@YoungBlood507 your smoking 20 players better ? Kg is a top 3 pf of all time I’m sure he’s in the top 15
Best looking jumper for a big man. That turn around fade too.
Dirk
KG > Dirk fade also KG defense >>>> Dirk "defense"
If you consider Kevin durant a big man then KG is second
nigga dirk shot is ugly af lol but very solid
@@lebronjames1844 Hell no
#42 is crazy! What a monster, you hear the commentator "They're going right at KG... Interestingly enough,"
Like it was an odd idea. As KG stuffs two players in a row while growling the entire time.
Man I miss that ferocity in basketball. It'll never be the same, it's just 40 threes a game and defense only being played (somewhat) in the playoffs
that shoulda been top 5 tbh
Kevin Harlan makes some of these plays so much better!!
His speed and athleticism for how lanky he is, is almost incomprehensible. I've never seen so much heart from one man
Good bye Big Ticket!! You will be missed!! you've had a amazing career! thank you for your time in Boston and getting that 17th championship! ANYTHING IS POSSSSIBBBLEEE!!!!
KG was a MONSTER 🔥🔥🔥
Russell said words to the effect, 'that it is one thing to block a shot but quite another turn that block into a change of possession, ' case in point.
One of best complete and all around player ever. KG did everything on the court. One of my favorite player.
My all-time favorite Power Forward. Kg was definitely ahead of his time for a big man his size to play like a guard is basically how the NBA is now that's what made him look so phenomenal back in the 90s
That pass from Nash at 41 was insane
Hail to the KinG, you are always the greatest player in my heart. You changed my life and brought me to basketball, you will always be my hero. Farewell KG, king of the wolves, most passionate player ever, a true warrior, and a symbol of an era.
@@gerardrazulcarim4922 lmao
not only in wolves but also in celtics cause he win a championship
the diversity of all of these plays is insane. it's like a highlight reel of 10 different all-stars
Garnett had an insanely diverse skill set and arguable the first point forward
Catching a double clutch on a rebound and dunking it in the same motion is crazy
my favourite player ever !! amazing competitor! he played with passion and grit every game. Unfortunatly he arrived to my Celtic's too late!!
Watching that draft as a celtics fan, he was the player I wanted them to get. Every time stern walked to the podium I was hoping he was going to announce that they had traded up to take him.
Watching this after the retirement ceremony. What a legend
Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard... they're so underrated
Bosh though?
KG in 2004 was such a beast.
My favorite NBA player of all time! The man could score from anywhere on the court, posterize you at any time and when he blocked a shot, he blocked to make you never want to try and shoot over him again!
Thank you Kevin Garnett!! For the years you spent here in Boston. I loved watching you dominate every single night!!
I had no idea KG had such a high level of passing...
Yeah, #9 is insane.
me too
U averaged 5 assists in Minnesota? Are u like Ricky Rubio or what?
he once averaged 6 assists back in Minnesota
Thats why he was an MVP caliber player
wow, my childhood is officially done
yeah... we are old AF :(
y'all still have Dirk n vince
Feel ya bro
watching this makes me miss the celtics big 4 so much :(
L u i s. You mean big 5?
Yo you can’t forget about scali
KG has to be one of my favorite players man
Kevin, was bigger and stronger than everyone else. Celtics are world champs 🏆
I miss him in modern NBA so much, trash talk himself has gone out of the league : ( Nice highlights by the way, it was awesome : ))
Uncut Gems Brought me here
🔥🔥🔥the top 4 should be : 4,1,2,3. That putback from the hip was serious. KG, my #1 PF "The BIG TICKET"
LEGEND! That smooth Jumper Always Remmembered.
Theres just something eleftriying about this kind of basketball. Streng + grit
Uncut Gems 👌🏻
No big man can do the things he does. Maybe in the next 10 years. GOAT!!
N
Not true other big mans can hit game winners block shots and get putbacks
Imagine prime KG played in todays timberwolves
Imagine KG in this era of basketball
Guillermo Vazquez He’d be fouling everyone
Giannis with a J
@@guillermovazquez1084 Dude always had good range, I bet he'd be raining 3s in this era
Would get fined 100k and Suspended
I'm a Wolves fan. When I was a kid, there was nothing like KG. Dude may as well have been a super hero.
You're not lying. His NBA Live 2001 cover literally screams that. I remember getting that for Christmas and was just amazed by it.
That timberwolve KG was just different
