Hi, this is a great program so far. Lots of listening to your tutorials. Ny books are looking much better and I'm glad I can do most everything myself. Thank you.
Can't wait for the features you mentioned to come out. But I'm not trying to rush anybody. Good things take time and your programmmers and staff work HARD to get all of this done. Now to get this blasted master done. Time for more coffee! ;P Thank you Moniqe.
Once Atticus gains its plotting/outlining and notes features, I will probably officially switch to using just Atticus rather than Scrivener. I really like how in Scrivener there is a place to write notes within each project that is separate from the actual book. I tend to have a section under Research that I call "Progress" or "Updates" where I update for myself how the writing process is going, different ideas or to-dos, etc. Definitely looking forward to Atticus updates for plotting/outlining and notes!
For those of you who were interested in leaving a testimonail for Atticus, first of all THANK YOU! We truly appreciate you. www.atticus.io/leave-review
Hi Monique. I was taken by surprise by the changes in Atticus. I turned it on and wondered what had happened to my laptop, but I have generally worked it out and have adapted to the new look Atticus. I am looking for anything that I missed and any new features which will help to enhance my writing.
Sorry for the surpise but I hope you find everything you're looking for (I promise, it's all still there!) and I'm sure you'll get used to it in no time! I hope everything goes well with your book(s)!
Just found out about your software. I am considering purchasing Atticus. I have a couple of books and one children’s illustrated picture book. I think I heard you say something about trim pages for children’s book. Could I upload and use your software for a children’s book?
You can export form Scrivener to .docx, but we recommend then going through our tutorial to prepare your document for importing into Atticus. Scrivener uses a lot of custom styles, depending on how you've set up your project, and Atticus isn't programmed to recognize all of them. The more simple you can keep your docx, the better it will typically import, allowing you to do the formatting work inside Atticus.
Hi! Thanks for the videos. Desperately trying to find out if I can customize my header. However, I haven't found any videos mentioning that. Only Google's AI search is saying it can be done. Where can I find instructions. I am trying to upload an art element into the header and also want to use a layout different from your header pre-sets. Many thanks.
Sorry, that's not an option with Atticus (yet!). For now, your Header can be chosen from the options you find when you customize your theme. I hope that helps!
We would love to make this an option, but it's currently outside the scope of our current development. We never say never, but it's not likely to be in the very near future.
It was a special, limited time event that was only available through the weekend, so it was taken down because it's being added to a paid training course. Write into Atticus support and we can share how to get access, if you're interested!
I love short stories! We don't currently have any tutorials specific to that, but I can add it to our list. What I'd suggest, however, is either just setting each "chapter" in Atticus as a short story, or - if each short story is multple chapters - you can use the Parts feature to organize them. I hope that helps!
Looking forward to being able to load files from a folder with several files in docx format. ie: a folder with all my chapters written with a different program. How about a save function and a recover function in case I make a mistake and delete something b mistake. Also, how do I find the themes formatting details? Iankentauthor from Delta, BC
I need to use two separate fonts but I’m unsure how to do it. I want a totally different font for chapter headings than what I would use for my acknowledgments, foreword, preface etc
You may have best luck setting up your chapter headings as Titles and the front/back matter pages as Subtitles - this way you can format them with different fonts. They will be at slightly different levels in the heading area, but hopefully that option works for you!
I think you're referring to the buttons that tell Atticus what side of the "screen" to show the message, left or right, or whether its the senders name. I'd recommend testing them out with the preview on so you can see what they do!
We do have some cool updates coming in the future that will hopefully provide the user-friendliness you love about Atticus with some of the more in-demand plotting/outlining features as well.

So glad you're enjoying it and congratulations on your books!

Thanks for understanding - we're excited too. Good luck with your book!

I FINALLY get to watch as a USER and not just a wishful spectator!
So happy to have you here!

You can, though there are some workarounds you'll have to work with. If you write into our support email, we can talk you through it!
Can you work between Atticus and Scrivener? You mentioned your software doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like Scrivener.
You can export form Scrivener to .docx, but we recommend then going through our tutorial to prepare your document for importing into Atticus. Will one or two page image spreads ever be able to just be worked in the actual program instead of having to size them manually or through bookbrush?
We would love to make this an option, but it's currently outside the scope of our current development. We never say never, but it's not likely to be in the very near future.
What happened to the Live about How to Create a Book Series? I was going to watch it, but it was made private. :)
It was a special, limited time event that was only available through the weekend, so it was taken down because it's being added to a paid training course. Write into Atticus support and we can share how to get access, if you're interested!
I write short stories. Do you have any information about how Atticus can be used specifically for writing short stories? Thanks for your updates.

Hi Ian, I think you've written into support already, but these are questions the team will be able to help you with better via email!
How can I left align a front matter page, but keep indenting new paragraphs in the body chapters?
At any point in your book if you want to override the indents, you can press SHIFT ENTER instead of ENTER. I hope that helps!
I need to use two separate fonts but I’m unsure how to do it. I want a totally different font for chapter headings than what I would use for my acknowledgments, foreword, preface etc

What do the three buttons in the text message formatting do?
I think you're referring to the buttons that tell Atticus what side of the "screen" to show the message, left or right, or whether its the senders name. I'd recommend testing them out with the preview on so you can see what they do!
Corkboard view would be great. I have to work in Scrivener for this...not as user friendly as Atticus.
We do have some cool updates coming in the future that will hopefully provide the user-friendliness you love about Atticus with some of the more in-demand plotting/outlining features as well.
Great. Thanks for replying 😊 I look forward to it so I can work solely in Atticus 🐾
Can atticus also use dictation software? Like Dragon
It hasn't been specifically integrated, but we have had many customers tell us that Dragon does work very well with Atticus, yes. I hope that helps!
@18.15 minutes, "For consistency sake, we've just moved 'saving saving saved' down here..."
but can't see where "here" is.
Sorry about that - is the bottom toolbar, on the left end!
Dark mode?
In the works!
