Yeah. Deep in the 80s this sound meant the sound of freedom for us youngsters living in then Western Germany. It definitely takes me back to manoevers like Reforger 80, Reforger 90, stuff like that. We teens couldn't wait to welcome truckloads of GIs in their Reos whisteling by. I remember trading in tons of fruit yoghurt in exchange for US MREs with them. So satisfying to hear it again. 💪
Yeah that used motor oil thins out and all ya gotta do is filter it in a 1 micron filter and it technically can run as diesel. I saw a guy mix vegetable oil and turpentine in a 1 to 1 ratio and run it in one of these multi fuel engines. I love this technology.
How often did or do you run the ratio that high? I am thinking about trying to go up to 50/50 used motor oil to diesel. Right now I run about 10 - 15 % motor oil.
I ran it this way for a summer but ever since I have justvran 100% diesel, no more than I drive the truck the savings are not worth the potential cost of injector pump issues
