I added a Akrapovic exaust, heated grips, upgraded the seat, swapped the ugly rear license plate holder for a shorty and upgraded the brakes(discs and pads). I also love how many accessories are available through KTM Power Parts. I got the rear side bag set and a tank bag for traveling which I highly recommend if you get one. In my mind its the perfect all around bike.

Get an FZ/MT-10 and put a few bucks into performance and comfort mods. You’ll save a ton of money and won’t have the headaches Walter keeps having because of that awesome Japanese reliability. Cost effective and almost just as fast. I watched your FZ review, along with others, 100 times before sitting on all the super nakeds. Fell in love with the feel and took the plunge. If you ever do, hit me up for the must do mods and you’ll have a sweet machine. FZ FOR LIFE!

After owning the black version of the 2017 1290 SDR since Jan last year, I have a couple of comments.
    1. Yes, it does have a quick shifter (up and down) as part of the optional Performance Pack. I assume that was not installed on this demo.
    2. The indicators in other parts of the world (like here in Australia) are LED and MUCH slimmer and nicer than the North American model (not sure why they are different).
    3. The black rims on the 2017/2018 models have orange stripes. I am kind of disappointed in the all black rims on the "white" model in this video.
    4. I TOTALLY agree (at 22:40); the version 2.0 1290 Super Duke R is, hands down, THE BEST BIKE I HAVE EVER OWNED. My next bike can only be whatever KTM brings out as their next top end super naked. I simply cannot get enough of this bike, even after 18 months!

Why not use the quick selector for Ride mode ? Then its on 1 tap and your can choose your ride mode. You make it look like its hard to set the ride modes.
Also this is a beast in Track mode, changes the bike to a SuperSport bike.
No Quickshifter? Why bother testing the bike?
Get a SDR MY 17+ with TrackPack and PerformancePack and it will be a totally different bike.
    You get:
    QuickShifter+ (Bi-directional)
Track Ride mode(Throttle response is Sick)
    Launch Control
9 Modes of slip regulation (TC)
In Trackmode its possible to disengage Anti Wheelie and still have Corner TC so you can have TC in the corners but able to wheelie out of corners/straights

I owned one for a while. Would do a third gear power wheelie in rain mode... Not sure rain mode did much other than soften the initial throttle.

Awesome intro! Back to the feel when you were doing all the GXSRs with the yellow and black checkered tiles. But Chase, you could have easily knocked this down to a 20 minute video. I understand you want to repeat the emphasized moments of bike performance, but how many times do we need to hear you want to ride the latest MT-10 and compare it? I LOVE your reviews, but my goodness.

Kinda want this bike to complement my 2015 R1. That thing is too aggressive sometimes but I still love it.

That helmet look gigantor on you man lol.. Also I agree with the screen being outdated in the looks dept I own the 18 Street Triple RS and this TFT Screen should be what all motomakers strive for or better!

I'm really tempted to trade my R1M for a 2020 Super Duke R. Tried one out, and though the 2019 was nice, this one is even nicer! I like that its very usable (can be a track BEAST, a road bike, a cruiser with very minor mods like a screen and bags that you can get from KTM). Its also nice that the pegs and handelbars are adjustable so you can put them very aggressive for the track, and easily twitch the pegs and handlebars to a more confortable cruising/street possition. they also simplified the menu's and added "quick buttons" for your favorite settings. Then standart optiosn like quickshifter/autoblipper, heated handlebars, usable storage room, nav & phone connectivity on TFT screen (whicis now more customizable), and options like a track program .... Test drive at your own risk (of REALLY really wanting to buy one afterwards).
(Oh, and the Dash is adjustbale (as in you can move the angle to avoid glare))... The GT (another great options) adds a 6 Galon fuel tank, the screen as standart, hand guards fand a bigger TFT screen).... does it sound like I am about to buy a new motorcycle?

What a beauty of a bike. Love the Super Duke's looks not a fan of how high it was when I sat on one but to each their own. Still waiting for some Aprilia first rides Chase. I've got an '18 Tuono that you can use if you want.

Best part of the Super Duke is slapping the shit out of Japanese liter bikes both on road and track while being comfortable at the same time.

Chase, this is my second favorite bike ever, the first one is the Ducati Streetfighter, and lucky me, i just bought (an used one, 2013 to be exact). Since i live in Brazil, it's reaaaaaaally hard to get hands on one of those Super Duke Rs here, so i always wondered, how do the stack up? Are they comparable in any sort of way? Yeah, i know the SF is old now, but i'm super curious. Great videos btw mate, keep up the great work!

Great Review Chase! I absolutely love this bike but for me the headlight is a show stopper. I understand most like it but not me. I hate that look.

I tend to prefer supersport bikes (R1 like), I Love this bike over the MT-10. But then again, I'm a big fan of the Orange accents. Seems like a good bike to ride and looks alone its killer! I'd pick KTM over the Yamaha

I’ve always had a respect and liking for the KTM. I’ve never had a chance to test ride one however....sat on a few but never taken on the road. Your review helps, thanks. My recollection is that this is a tall machine for a 30” inseam?
Other reviewers have said that it can feel very “vibey” and a little rough. Maybe the 2019 update has made it a more sophisticated motorcycle?

Garey Cooper I was at a dealer picking up my RC390 from maintenance and sat on a SuperDuke, I felt more flat footed on that then my little 390 haha

@@ErichWilhelmVW What year was it? I tried this machine in I think 2016 and it was fairly tall to my recollection.....I am just about Chase's height and inseam measurement.....still an awesome machine by the way!
