  • This is Ryan's 1972 Datsun 1600.
SR20 turbo built by Jenkins performance engines
    Emtron computer
    18" Gold Simmons
Tuned by the team at Unigroup Engineering
This all adds up to a tough and reliable street car that Ryan can enjoy.
The paint is a custom colour mixing Honda Accord greay and gold mica. It really comes to life in person and I (Pete) have done my best to show it off in this epsiode.

I had a 69/70 1600 that I gave away for just a $1000 after a long time of ownership. 10 years down the track, totally pissed off! I used this car for everything, carting the family around, stage commandering for multiple Rally's of Canberra and ultimately just loving the drive of an awesome car. Bugger...

I disagree with the statement "a trip to the track is a trip to the mechanic". You can take any car racing as long as it's in good mechanical order. My first drug of choice was autocross. It's low stress on a beginning driver. It teaches a lot of car control and spacial awareness. I know you Austrailians love your roll racing. I think any kind of driving that allows you to enjoy the full extent of your car is great. If it breaks, build it better 🙂

Everyone has their own thing. For the life of me I couldn't build a car to go roll racing in..or build a car to drive on cruises with other...cars. For me it's about being sideways through a mountain at 3am chasing a GTR a WRX and battling for 15 minutes to get Infront of them. Or doing a solo mission through mountain ranges twisties and bends.. I couldn't think of anything worse than being restricted to a track. I'm from the Old school. We used to streeyrace all night..work all day. Did that for ten years. Chasing power is like a cat chasing it's tail. U never be happy. For me it's about them harnesses pulling me into the recaros. An oversized turbo that only likes it when it's on somg. A stiff chassis is the most critical. And a good set of semi slicks. A good ecu and balanced car. Some progressive rate bump stops. A good Momo twirler. Locked diff. Hyrdrolic handbrake
U know. Good ecu injectors and all the fruit. Dead pedals.. sideways. Crazy times.
See everyone is different. Fuck coffee
