    Next compare the S13, S14 and S15 SR20 engine mount brackets on the block because they ARE different! S13 and 15 for example have different mount angle to the subframe pads and the engine won’t sit at the right height.
    So if you’re putting an S14/15 SR in an S13, you need to change to S13 SR mount brackets so the engine height and mount angle is correct.

    Bought a 90 hatch a year and some ago. I pulled the mounts off the single cam when I pulled the motor for the SR swap. The bolt threads that go into the cross member were completely covered in oil and road grime(without nuts or washers on them) so hopes, dreams, and the weight of the single cam held the motor in place. When I lifted the motor out one of the mounts fell completely apart. The rubber that was supposed to be attached to the metal bracket. Wasn't even connected anymore. The rubber was completely disintegrated. So that ka was held in with one mount that was still in one piece and only had the top nuts on the mount.
    😂 240 guys man. A different breed.

    The reason the mounts have the “stock” part number in the rubber is because they reused the same injection mold as the oem mount, but they used a different Durometer/stiffness blend of rubber in them for the Nismo.
    This is more commonly seen in aftermarket wheels where they’ll use one mold for the face and the “cast in” PCD doesn’t match the actual PCD.

      That or since they're not the same side to side, could they have possibly only used a harder mount on one side ? If you think about it one mount suffers the torquing effect more than the other, so it could make sense to mix.

    Also if you're running a KA and wanna combat the higher height of new nismo mounts, Xcessive makes lowering motor mount brackets for the KA. It lowers the engine about 3/4ths of an inch. Maybe someday they can make a similar bracket for SRs

    This video came on while I was out in my shop and I have a pair of cusco mounts on the shelf. I measured the thickness of those at just under 65mm. They are more stiff so I'm unsure how much they compress compared to nismo but figured I'd share. Thank you for the information! This stuff is difficult to find now that forums are dead.

    Wow, I have a KA and when I installed the Nismo SR/KA mounts in my car I noticed the clutch fan would hit my fan shroud. That 0.25”-0.5” movement of the engine forward explains that. I made a bracket to “pull” my shroud away from the fan enough to clear. I guess it doesn’t help that I have a aftermarket Mishimoto radiator (which obvi thicker than factory). Also I noticed slight difficulty in mounting the trans mount as well but was able to pry it on. Ps. I didn’t have the fan clearance issue when it was on my single cam KA, just only when I swapped it to dual cam. Nonetheless, great info with this video! Thanks

    Could the left and right heights be different due to the engine torque? One mount spends it's life getting pushed down and the other gets pulled up on for the most part.

    When I swapped the sr into my s13 I used GK engine/trans mounts. The studs are not offset like oem/nismo. When bolting in the trans crossmember it did not line up and I had to pry a little to get the bolts in. Definitely did not have to dremmel tho

    Without measuring new non nismo mounts I feel like this is kind of pointless. All you've proven is the old nismos are taller than old normal mounts, does that mean that the nismo mounts are taller originally, or simply that they sag less ?
