Great job. One question plz; is it OK to stick the tiles on a painted wall because I've read in the instructions of the porcelain and ceramic boxes that it should not be fixed neither on painted wall nor plastered wall.

Correct, you should not stick tile to a painted surface, however, as it's s small piece of skirting, may get away with it. Tiling a painted wall is a definite no no though. Plaster surface is fine provided it's primed with a suitable tile primer, NOT PVA.

I think 4 inch looks good in skirting. I started to put 6 inch but it doesn't look good so I changed it to 4inch

For skirting tile doesn’t meter what are you using mastic glue or silicone you use there is no No pressure on skirting to coming off
