    I work at a new clinic that’s divided into two practices. I’m not certified so I’m getting trained on the job for both, clinical and administrative tasks. It’s not difficult but there’s a lot of details that I still have to learn and it does frustrate me when the clinic gets busy. I do wish they had someone full time at the front but for now it’s me and another assistant who is certified and she’s been really helpful. It can get very crazy at times 😅

      I feel you. Choosing an online self-paced medical assistant training program that prepares you to get certified is always recommended. This way, you can learn from the comfort of your home and get your training before you start working. And when you do find a job, you're a lot more confident, and it's not that hectic.

      Get a job in a medical office as a receptionist you will learn a lot and then you will know if you really want to be an MA you would know within the first 90 days you’ll see the MAs and what they do and you can ask them a lot of questions. You only need a high school diplomato become a receptionist and they will train you and what you learn will be very valuable later

    We don’t make enough money anywhere for what we do. I roomed over 400 patients last month. EKGs on 98% of them. And only make double what I made 10 years ago. But i love it!
    We had 2000 patients last month and we have 7 MAs. Plus having to be a ray of sunshine all day, it is exhausting.

      @micholerita-iz9fdNot really, no!! I mean, occasionally, for administrative work, you might have to perform some basic calculations that anyone can perform. And plus, if you work as a Clinical Medical Assistant, you'll mainly focus on the clinical side, which doesn't involve math.

      They are easy programs. You can do it. Don't be intimidated. I am not an MA. I am in a different health care field. Use the internet to learn as much as you can. I once spoke to a licensed court interpreter and I asked her how do you keep up with so many words out there in the medical and legal fields that you have to know? And she said she literally sleeps with the dictionary next to her. I sleep with my laptop next to me. I even cracked the screen when I rolled over. 😂

    Is medical assistant a stressful job?

    • @astridolsen6245
      @astridolsen6245 8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes it definitely can be very stressful. Sometimes a patient can code if you give a patient the wrong medication they could have an allergic reaction and that could be extremely dangerous. If you don’t verify Miss Smith by a middle name with the date of birth, you may see the wrong Mrs. Smith. There is a lot of room for error, a lot of clerical work a lot of math and a lot of hustling not a lot of downtime
