Okay, the pranks would be funny if they ended up giving the gift in the end. The MacBook thing? I did that to my wife but i just changed the boxes with another give for her. So she still got it. To not only give her dollar store gifts but admit you did get the gift but give it to someone else is cruel

@@gamefreak2383 I disagree. For Christmas one time we got my sister a pc she wanted so we wrapped it in wrapping paper then clean unused toilet paper and gave it to her calling it a crappy gift. She was confused and laughed then was happy when she saw the real gift underneath all that. Some pranks are funny but you must not do them to often or be mean with them.

@@gamefreak2383pranks are funny, but ‘pranks’ are not, pranks are a little mischievous act you do bcs you know the other person is okay with it and will get a got laugh out of, and it is all fun and chill. But ‘pranks’ like in the story are just ppl being cruel and wanting excuses for being cruel, it indeed is never funny.

@@shrubman3422that reminds me of when my dad pranked my sister on Christmas. There was this really big box and I was jealous that it was for my sister. My sister started to open the box and there was another box wrapped in Christmas paper. So she opens the box only to be met with another box wrapped. This went on for a minute. Until she said if there is another box I am going to kill you, to my dad. She opens the box and there is a capsule like the one you get from a coin turner. The gift was a convention ticket to her favorite show. My dad said the ticket came like that. So my dad wrapped everything like a Russian nesting doll to get a laugh. My dad and I were laughing so hard every time a new box came out.

Should have sent her boyfriend to the house and say that she was going to come by soon and apologize. When they ask where she is he should explain that they wasted their time and that it was all “just a prank”.

Pranks only funny if both sides are actually laughing. Otherwise, it's just harassment. Especially after she specifically said I don't wanna be involved in these stupid pranks anymore.

People like that don’t deserve children. This really connected with me. I took my finals last week and I got a 94 on my history and a 84 on my chemistry, nothing to brag about but chemistry is one of the hardest classes in my state and to get above an 80 is really good but my parents said “oh that’s good. Isn’t a 100 though”. I work hard and I don’t even get recognition from the adults that are supposed to be the role models in my life. It sucks but sometimes family is like that

Those people only want you in their life is for entertainment. They treat you like a clown, put you on display for everyone to laugh at. Except it isn't about being funny but being betrayed by your literal siblings.

A "Prank" that harms someone does more damage than some people realize. I'm 80, yet I remember the time at age 4 when my parents arrived home from shopping. My brother & I had a friend over. My dad gave my brother & our friend each a candy bar they had just bought. My dad said he didn't have one for me, then ask me if I was going to cry about it. I did not, as I knew the result would be a spanking. He finally gave me a candy bar also. I loved my dad, but he was mean!

My father did that to me ONCE. Except i just handed the candy he gave me to my siblings and left. He got offended and berated me. I asked him if the candy was mine and he said yes. I then said I'm giving MY candy to my siblings. I never lined up when he called us to hand out presents/candies/food. I would always continue doing what I was doing before he called us over. I didn't take anything from his hand again (except for spending money for after graduation parties - because I was respecting his wishes for being the first person in his entire family to graduate regularly). If it was for me my mother would be the one handing it to me.

    Story summary: part one
OPs family loves pranks but always takes them too far. OPs parents ask what she wants for Christmas and to put it on a list. Later on Christmas Day everyone is there along with OPs boyfriend, they all have the gifts ready and OP spent all her money on carefully chosen gifts.
    Part two.
The family has OP be the first one to open her gifts and they all are holding back laughter except her boyfriend. She opens the present to reveal a MacBook and her bother starts laughing which confuses her. Then he tells her to open revealing chocolate which she hates so she can’t even use it. After that everything she received was a “prank” and everyone was laughing as she held back tears. She immediately goes to her room and starts packing which she should have done as soon as she turned 18. Her family is yelling at her calling her selfish and entitled causing her to blow up at them and say they were playing with her mental health and didn’t know what a prank was. They tried to force her to stay but she and her boyfriend managed to get out and headed to his parents house as her family blew up her phone with messages and calls. His family gave her the Christmas that she thought she would have with her family. The boyfriend got her the same gift as her, an apple smartwatch.

A prank on Christmas is the bix trick. A bix within a box, think bix inception. Nice gift in the final box. Duck tape out side bixes

When my best friend and I lived in different states every Christmas we would send each other joke gifts. Literally the goal was to see who could get the other the worst present. We knew exactly what we were doing and it was wonderful. What this young person went through was just cruel.

    Here’s the summary
    it’s a long story so I’ll try:
so basically when Christmas comes what seems like her whole family gets her fake “prank” gifts empty boxes and fake things and everyone but her and her boyfriend was laughing and when she got to her parents gift what she thought was the book was a dictionary with a fake printed cover she was mad and sad that she had only ask for something worth 40$ and her parents couldn’t do something like that and it hurt more watching the rest of her family get gifts with lots of effort in them. She ends up going to her room crying and her family yells at her so her and her boyfriend drive off after her mom try’s to hold her back. Op ask to hang out at her boyfriend’s apartment till she can find somewhere to live. Op boyfriends ends up driving to his parents house so she could get the Christmas she deserves. His parents treat her well she gets the gifts her boyfriend was going to give her it’s the book and an Apple Watch. she gets a lot of shit from her family will her boyfriend parents family treats her well. After some time her parents still think it’s just some temper tantrum so she decideds to call her mom. Op says some things and it seems and it seems like her mom got the point but then Ops mom says “we can wait for your apology” so Op blocks them

Ok, if and only if EVERYONE got pranked in a similar way, AND if everyone got legitimate gifts eventually, could this be considered a legitimate prank. But it sounds like OP was singled out and never got any legitimate gifts. This wasn't a prank, it was emotional abuse. WTF is wrong with her family?? Good for her for dumping them. I just hope she's able to support herself eventually and not depend on the BF too much, since nothing in this life is guaranteed.
