    Peugeot's usually have silver plastic covers that go over the wheel bolts. Must have been missing here? But nice to paint the bolts.

    Lovely video again, but I am going to ask one question: why didn't you clean the barrels of the wheel a bit more, they look filthy? I know you may not have gotten them perfect but it wouldn't have taken long. Now you've got overspray that's sealed the dirt underneath and they'll never be clean).
    Malco Break Off is a fantastic product for doing this job really well and pretty quickly, especially as you've got the wheels off.

    • @everydaydetailing6449

      Hi
      Simple answer you are right 😀👍
      They had corrosion on the rear .. so a bit of a losing battle to be honest! but yes could have been improved.
      Time is a big constraint on this car and budget.. as stated in the first episode .. the car is being done to help a friend (trader) and a bit of fun for the channel, and good content.. cost effective as a business .. no 😂
      It's what we call a "hospital job" I fit it in when I can .. no rush as in reality needs about a week solid to bring it to a standard to use.
      Car is worth £1500-£2000 .. when you equate my hourly rate and the 40+ hours to fix this mess, I can only do so much 👍😀

      @@everydaydetailing6449 completely understand, I get a bee in my bonnet about this particular thing which is why I picked it up, I must apologise. If it helps I said the exact same thing to Stauffer's Garage the other day, and he wasn't doing it on a swamp donkey, it was on a RR Sport!
      The Malco product is fantastic for stubborn stuff btw, have a look at threads by OKCharlie on Detailingworld to see the results if you are interested. Like you I am always interested in products that give fantastic results for the least effort.

    Uk: needs light taps with a rubber mallet to remove stuck wheel.
    American Midwest: needs massive smashing with a yard long, 12lb deadblow sledgehammer to remove stuck wheel.

    If a car has a proper spare wheel do you refurb it too as standard or would the owner have to request it be done? That 3008 looked very good, like you said the wheels would have ruined the final look.

    Do you mask off the insides of the wheels? Otherwise you surely end up with a ton of overspray on the inside of the wheel?

    • @everydaydetailing6449
      @everydaydetailing6449  3 года назад

      Hi Neil
      Strange as this sounds and a lot of people don’t know this but many makes such as Ford and Citroen etc leave the back (barrel) in grey primer and only paint the face on these older cars .. now with modern powder coating it’s all changed! The rear’s tend to be in poor shape due to corrosion due to lack of protection from paint and lacquer... a bit of over spray is the least of there worries. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch 👍😁

    When are you going to finish off and post Swampy's paint correction and interior detail?

  • @SDav21
    @SDav21 4 года назад

    Don't the wheels stay on because it uses lug bolts instead of nuts? We have a 3008 where the wheel stays on after taking out the bolts because most European cars use that bolt style (Mercedes, BMW and Audi too). But it stays there and you just gently pull forward. I think it has a lip to keep the wheel on lightly when taking out the bolts. My E Class is the same.

    • @everydaydetailing6449
      @everydaydetailing6449  4 года назад

      Trust me I gave it a gentle wiggle ... but like everything else on this car they had not been removed for a while .. so it requires a gentle tap to remove the wheel 👍😁

      @@everydaydetailing6449 Poor Peugeot. I wonder why the previous owner's neglected it so much. They're actually really nice cars. We were once also French car sceptics. But when we bought our first Peugeot many years ago it was surprising how boring other cars were by comparison. The pop out head up display, glass roof, the switches, all very interesting. Things which a similar Toyota or vw from that time just didn't have. I am a car enthusiast but there's something about Peugeots and Citroens that's different. We enjoy our 3008 and it surprises alot of people especially when it's towing a caravan 1000 miles to the coast and back.
