Hallo, enjoyed your podcast and your clivias are beautiful. Enjoy orchard and may your trees reward you plenty for all the love and attention you give them
I had the same neckline problem with the Alive and Kicking top for my daughter, which was knitted with linen. The solution was to use a slightly thinner yarn to pickup the cast-on stitches, knit stocking stitch a couple rows and cast off. I am impressed with your sewing skills and the patience/dedication it takes to adjust and sew a baseline version. Here in Norway summer is over and the plum trees are ripe for picking. The last 2 weeks have been dedicated to making jam from the 2021 harvest (no plums grew last year). .Emptying and defrosting the freezer to start all over again. This year we (my landlord and I) shall chop down the top branches since harvesting is done by picking what falls down, shaking the branches or climbing a ladder. The 2 trees are old and huge but pruning is a winter job so next year it will be done.
Thank you for the message Zandra. Thank you for sharing your tip for the neckline. I will keep that in mind in the future. Oh my Mother LOVED plum jam. I have some apricots of 2021 still in the freezer for making jam, we had a very late frost last year that killed all our apricots and peaches on the trees. And therefor had no harvest. So this year we will be very grateful for some fruit. We love to bottle our peaches in a sugar syrup and eat it with fresh cream for dessert so we are very hopeful to get a good harevst this year. May you have lots of crafty time and a wonderful week! 💜
Really enjoyed your podcast today, sitting doing some sewing and listening to you. I have often made my own bias tape with the tape maker you have, I just steam it with my iron and it is usually fine to use like that, does depend on your material though.. 🌸
Thank you for your message! That is good to know, I will definitely try to just iron it and see what happens! So glad you enjoyed the episode. Have a great week!
Thanks for keeping me company while I worked on my Battenberg blanket! It's really interesting to hear about your sewing and knitting adjustments, thank you for sharing ☺️
Thank you Marie-Louise! Wow we will have to have a show and tell on the next Crafty Stitches Craft Night to see your scarves! May you have a productive and wonderful week! 💜
Hi Mariette, I always enjoy your adventures and misadventures 😀. I'm sure the elastic will do the trick. I threaded it around the whole neck ribbing of a bamboo/cotton top and it's holding up. I do still like to crochet a row of sc around the top of necklines as well as a row of ss just below the neck ribbing.
Thank you so much for that tip. This was the best R35 I have ever spent! It works wonderfully. Wore the Ranunculus all day yesterday and it held up beautifully! My Ranunculus is back in rotation! Hope you have lots of crafty time this week! 💜
