- Bixbite, or red beryl is considered the rarest mineral on Earth. They say for every 150,000 gem quality diamonds, only one gem quality bixbite is found. Watch as award winning gem cutter, Michael Sackos, facets two pieces of bixbite that he sourced from this year’s Tucson Gem Shows.

I just love it. I can’t believe you actually got it in your hands. I want some 😂
Yes, it too a lot of searching before I found some!
I didn't know this stone, it's very beautiful. perfect job.
Thank you.
Congrats on checking this one off your bucket list, pretty stones!
Thanks. I have been searching for quite a while!
Very interesting to see this stone, and you give such detailed dialog.
Thanks
You are welcome.
Apparently those folks over at Chatham have taken the "holier than thou" attitude and refuse to sell their rough to anyone who is NOT a Brick and Morter Store
Yes, Chatham stopped selling their rough about 3 or maybe it was 4 years ago. They used to sell at the GJX show in Tucson...but no more. It doesn't matter if you have a Brick and Morter Store or not...Tom made the decision to not sell rough, they just sell cut gemstones using their rough. No worries, there are other labs selling rough.
Beautiful Mike. I think I prefer a stone with natural flaws. Love the bixbite.
Thanks Peter!
Almost came out pink like a Morganite, at least on the video? Also on video it showed to be too included to be attractive, however that may be because of how inclusions show more on video? Does it look better than the video? Great show, love your explanations.
Nope, it's red. Yes, it has inclusions. It is a GIA Type 3 gemstone, as is Emerald. Even with inclusions being normal, most people find Emeralds to be attractive and very desirable.
@@BOPIESDiamondsFineJewelry I am sure it is very attractive, just sometimes that does not show on videos. I find that the case with rubies also, videos never capture their full beauty.
Very good
Thank you.
Looks great 👍,
Thank you!
Any idea who I can talk to to get a bixbite necklace made? it’s been a long dream of mine but because of its rarity I haven’t had any luck.
I saw one dealer who had a small booth at the 49th Street show in Tucson. That dealer specialized in Bixbite jewelry. I do not recall the name of the vendor and I do not know if he had necklaces or not.
I have 300 peaces of Red Beryl from Topaz Mnt
What would I do with them?
👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Do you know of anywhere I can find instructions on how to deal with keyless dops ( no peg or slant cut )?
I use a keyless dop and I can help if you have specific questions?
