- Quartz is the most common mineral on Earth. This stone comes in a variety of colors; Rose quartz just happens to be the pink variety. Very rarely is rose quartz of facet grade, so finding a piece of rough without inclusions or sleepiness in a nice pink color is exciting. Watch as award-winning gem cutter, Michael Sackos, facets this pink quartz he got while on his recent trip to Africa.

Very nice job. I found it a learning curve to polish Amethyst. But really loved how it turns out so sparkly, Very lovely job of the trillion by the way. Love your videos.
Thank you very much. A lot of cutters tell me the same thing about polishing quartz.
It turned out very good, beautiful gem, congratulations.
Thank you!
Nice!
Thank you.
Very good🎉
Thank you!
Very pretty gem!
Thank you very much.
Very nice job, I like it.
Thank you!
I went to a mine that has the best rose quartz in the world. I have some big pieces with no inclusions at all. It is rare. I am selling some or trade
Awesome! What country is your Rose Quartz from?
Beautiful but little cloudy
I'm afraid that is the best you can expect with Rose Quartz.
Very nice. I have a couple of mines that produce top Rose quartz in Malawi
Thanks. I wasn't able to get to Malawi on my recent visit to Africa, only Kenya and Tanzania. Maybe on my next trip I'll get to Malawi. Thanks again for sharing information about your mine.
@@mikesackos2208 Malawi has over 25 different types of gemstones, you are welcome to visit
@@yamikanijimusolegggia7210 Thank you very much.
Looks good brother if I was to do a decent Stone I probably have to do something that size on my machine I got a shishi faceting machine. I just can't do my 90's very easily I almost have to eyeball it
Thanks. I am not familiar with the Shishi machine. Do you mean it is difficult to cut/polish the girdle facets at 90 degrees? Yes, that would be a problem.
Yeah 100% of everything! I'm not even joking. It's a $200 Japanese machine. It's all I could find or afford. It works kind of.
What’s something like that worth?
I don't discuss pricing on this channel. I dedicate this channel to tutorials on how to cut gemstone rough. Sometimes I talk about where to find or how to evaluate, and even some videos of going into the mines, but nothing about price, cost, etc., as there are just too many variables, and no set rule.
@@mikesackos2208 ok thanks I like your videos and hopefully be able to get a Faceting machine one day.
@@Algoldprospecting Thank you. Best of luck on your future faceting!
