I am a lego fan but..... I have lived in China for the past 4 years. The quality of the sets produces here at a fraction of the cost is phenomenal. I have been buying the Chinese brands for some time and have never had bad quality.
they're so good! sometimes there are one or two pieces missing, or a heat damaged piece, but even in a big set like Barracuda Bay it was barely an issue for me. the only only downside of fakes is that the face prints on minifigs are ALWAYS too high :P what's up with that?
@@theogrant528 it’s a little hard, since there’s if they sell old Lego set, they usually don’t have a name for legal issues or change them all the time if you are looking for cheap Lego like bricks, but are not Lego remakes there’s a bunch of good brands
Thank you for your authentic and honest review. You talked about the upsides, the downsides, showed us some examples of the quality, the packaging and the instruction manual that came along with it. 👍 I will always prefer buying the official LEGO sets over fake ones, but at some point older models become practically unobtainable for a normal price, so these copies are really not the worst thing in the world.
I agree, I have bought many of the old modulars from China, the quality is good and the price is even better! For me it's about the fun while building and not what's on the stud. I know some people disagree, but I'd rather get 8 fake old modulars then 1 old real LEGO modular.
I bought several Fakes now and never had issue with missing pieces, maybe one or 2. the quality gets better with each iteration. the older ones are so expensive now, it is insane. I wont pay 300-1000$ for a set. the off brand are just fine. I love building them. then I put LED insinde and the fun is great. look at mould king, forange, zhe gao, they offer modulars too. some are nicer to build than lego
I have no problem with fake lego for retired sets, but if something is still in production, I’ll buy genuine LEGO. Screw the opportunistic scalpers that hoard sets for a massive rip-off profit!
i got a lepin a couple of years ago. there was one lego that had caught my attention but when i saw the price it was out of the question. by chance i stumbled upon the lepin version of it which was about half the price so i got it. quality was perfectly ok and i was satisfied. i think Lego is ridiculously and unreasonably expensive so i dont feel bad about it.
When Lego discontinues a set, and then a Chinese vendor sells a fake, Lego doesn’t lose any $$$, because they wouldn’t be selling the genuine set anymore anyways. The only losers are the greedy Lego resellers, who jack up the price once a set has been discontinued. Fuck them! 😡 Hopefully, with more fake Lego sets on the market, these resellers will be forced to lower their prices, and stop gouging buyers. And maybe more Lego sets can finally be enjoyed by their target consumers, instead of sitting on shelves for years 🤞
The things are simple.if you see the lego as a value then you have to be purist, but if you want to make a large lego city without spending a fortune which you will never sell, just for awesome display you can easily buy lego copies or alternative brands with spectacular designs
I bought a Chinese copy of the Lego Bank modular 10251, and it was great quality at a third of the price. However, be aware that a lot of the companies on websites are crooks - the first time I paid for the fake set it never arrived, so I had to buy again from a different site, so in total I paid £90 for a set that retailed at the time for £150 - still a £60 saving. However, the latest scam is to double the price buy adding a huge postage cost at the checkout (pre-covid the postage was free). What is useful is to buy some individual bricks for a smaller price, especially rare colour/rare bricks such as light yellow modified headlamp brick (difficult to get on bricklink).
I got the same building from a third party. Going to review it soon. I think it’s worth it because the retired buildings are way too expensive for the casual Lego fan. And since it’s retired Lego isn’t losing any money. And even if you were to buy the bricks or a new current set, Lego has been overpricing sets for a the past few years and it’s getting ridiculous
you mentioned stealing from lego but lego don't sell them any more! they give you a change to buy a great piece that else would be impossible to obtain unless you got real deep pockets. you try to make excuses but its a great product for you're money! just don't buy sets lego still produce
I have 6 modular buildings alone, you can also check other videos of sets I’ve reviewed. I spent thousands of dollars in the on legos, even have a bricklink store in which I sell a ton of stuff. I just don’t see myself, just like many more people, paying over 800 dollars for a set that Lego no longer produces. When I can get this set for less then 100 and buy many more sets that are actual Lego.
I was buying Chinese lego minecraft Knock-offs and they are pretty good except sprites are quite inaccurate, and bricks are littles harder to connect.but dude, they are like 2-6 times cheaper than the original! Rather gonna buy cheap unoriginal than expensive original.
if u want a mass of buildings without the cost then its fine, most of the other brands arent bad, some of the instructions arent as clear or colour matched but aside that its down to choice the strength and fit of some pieces arent as good but there are ways to combat that when building - overall if u want the appearance of lego city etc at lower cost then hey i have lego and other brands so i can see some of the differences in colour, strength and fit but again its choices

I’m having trouble understanding what you are saying? I’m not saying Lego should cut corners, it seems legos prices keep going up. This is not something a lot of people like.
There are a few problems with fakes: Quality is definitely lower, the chemical composition of the plastic is unknown and has not passed any first world standards. So I would ask about the safety profile of a plastic and you won't get answers from fakes. Is there BPA leaching out? Who knows. Besides, Lego spends a lot of time on R & D, chemical safety, packaging safety, art, marketing, sales. Counterfeiters are usually criminal organizations so buying from them supports them and their thievery. Same goes for counterfeit watches. It is not a victimless crime. Have some integrity and don't buy fakes anymore.
Well most people buy legos to build them and actually use them not resell them, and actually people do buy these, these set cost $800 dollars, sure you can resell them but for people who want to build these sets paying 800 dollars for a set is pointless, I have 4 modular buildings and I got them for my enjoyment and not for there resell value
