- The Top 10 BEST Countries to live in the World for 2023. Whether you're a digital nomad, or want to move to or retire in one of the happiest countries, the following include the safest country & none of the worst cities or small towns in America, Europe, or Asia!
► All 50 States in the USA Ranked WORST to BEST - • All 50 STATES in AMERI...
► Ranking All 8 States & Territories in Australia from Worst to Best - • All 8 States & Territo...
In order to determine which countries are the best (and worst), I analyze a few categories including each country's health, happiness, economy, cost of living, crime and safety, education, infrastructure, history and culture, nature, and quality of life. I also implemented my personal experiences and the pros and cons of each location.
My biggest suggestion is to visit these places first to decide which country you want to move to and live in.

Wow, I'm lucky enough to have seen Seljalandsfoss in Iceland just two weeks ago. What a beautiful sight, especially when the whole surrounding area is covered in snow! I also saw Plitvice last year, both incredible sights!

I don't buy this list . A car is stolen every 40 minutes in Canada , Shootings are very common in cities like Toronto. Uncontrolled number of allegedly international students coming on fraudulent documents and going to shady colleges and exacerbating the housing shortage crisis. Record numbers of people using food banks , record number of homelessness.....
Nice video - thank you for producing it.

HOLY SHIT MANGO TANGO IS ALIVE, bro I been searching for a video from you for a while, you were my childhood
Hey USA citizens considering a new country to live in.... please consider Australian. We speak the same language, eat the same food and have the same traditions. We have FREE medical, top wages and amazing free education. We don't get snow either in any of our large cities but you can got into the country to ski! Aussies will welcome you, we love our US cousins.
Yes but the wildlife is a bit of a problem
Is It really free though? It doesn't come out your taxes?
No lie I’ve been thinking about Australia
Are you kidding? It was one of the worst countries through Covid. No thank you to moving to police state.
😂😂😂 I’m Australian and it’s always funny to hear about people having fear about wildlife and the past COVID laws.
a) yes during COVID our laws were strict but not many people died.
b) I have NEVER been afraid of snakes and spiders as nearly no one is killed by these animals.
And if an American calls Australia a police state that is just so laughable. 1% of Americans are incarcerated which is far higher percentage then any other developed nation.
I assume a yank wrote some shit about a police state because that is a very American thing to say.
This video is super helpful! Can't wait to explore these top countries to live in. Time to start planning my next adventure!
amazing video powerful and well articulated
I’ve always wondered what a lot of other countries are like and this channel really helps know how good these countries really are…keep the videos coming 👍
Iceland and Norway are by far the best and cleanest and prettiest countries ever and should be at the top, and The Netherlands and Denmark and The Faroe Islands too, plus the languages Icelandic / Norwegian / Dutch / Faroese / Danish are so heavenly and five of the prettiest languages ever created that are as gorgeous as English / Norse / Gothic (ég myndi vilja búa á Íslandi, þrátt hið kalt veður) and also Welsh, and Sweden / Finland / Switzerland / Luxembourg / Austria / Ireland / Wales / Scotland etc are also in the top 10, and also, Finnish is not even close to being one of the hardest languages ever lol, Finnish is one of the easiest languages ever and is just a category 2 language, so it’s even easier than Irish and Scottish Gaelic which are both category 3, and I don’t understand why most ppl believe this misconception that Finnish or Hungarian are ‘hard’ lol, I am learning all these languages myself, so I know for a fact that they are very easy to learn and pronounce and type as they all use the Latin alphabet - the hardest languages ever would be the Asian languages (with the Chinese languages and Japanese etc beings the hardest ever) and Arabic languages and African languages which are category 6 to category 10 languages, and, the hardest European languages are Russian and similar languages that use different alphabets (category 5) and Polish and Czech which are category 4 with very heavy spelling, and Greek which is category 5 or 6, so they are quite hard too!
Always love your video - very high quality.
This is a wonderful video thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤
I lived in Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Spian and Serbia, and I would put Denmark in 1st place!
Besides amazing infrastructure and job opportunities with good wages, the locals are the friendliest people on earth. Just having a walk down the street will fill you with such a positive energy because everywhere you look you will see people smiling, laughing, singing, etc. It is the only country I lived in where locals actually make effort for expats to feel welcomed and integrated (not something I could say for Switcherland). They love their country, you will see a DK flag on the windows of EVERY household, and for a good reason. Most of them stay in DK their whole lives without having any intentions of moving anywhere else (that''s why you will not see many danes around the world). Also, out of the bigger cities, the countryside is beautiful! So many green spaces with beautiful villages! It's the country that literally has everything you need for a very content life. The only thing that I don't like is the lanaguage (to me personally is the ugliest language alongside thai) but they all speak english perfectly, from little kids to very old people! I also have to add that is probably the best country to live in if you have a physical disability: having one myself I often felt discrimination in other countries, well not in Denmark! Besides the benefits and amazing social services, the people there just never made me feel different with starring or special treatments. Hands down the best place in the world!
There are also a lot of almost abandoned towns that look like crap. With no job opportunities in so many parts of a very small country. Shops closing down etc. Roads that got so many bumps in it its barely drivable.
Exactly, add onto that the insanely high taxes on EVERYTHING and the current housing crisis(both renting & owning), forcing people away from the areas with jobs to live in run down shacks in the middle of nowhere. @@RobinAsp77

Thank you sir, nice to see my Switzerland doing well. I am an American here now for 34 years and counting. 6 adult children born here and all did well with the world`s best apprenticeship system, and no debts for it. I love the beauty of this small country and the 4 language regions make it even more exciting. I still love driving and the sudden change of the signs in the Italian, and French speaking regions, as I live in the Swiss German speaking region, and love it. I grew up with a great father, but we were poor to the bone. He got into Buddhism after the army and his Christian upbringing and kept changing the places we were living in. He was a welder and artist, and kept busy with that stuff. No racism, no guns, no bibles, no flag waving, just respectful of others and low key. I love the amazingly beautiful Swiss churches everywhere, and yes I go in and relax. In America no, because it was not welcoming at all. Here never ever anybody attacking me, or questioning why I am inside the church. I sent a letter to Bern telling them this story and a woman wrote back that I am welcome and they are thankful for my feedback, although I am not religious at all.
I lived in New Jersey, Idaho, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maine, Colorado, Oregon, Colorado again, then Washington state, where I finished high school in 1983. From there it was to my mom just north of San Francisco, where I studied classical ballet for 4 years. Then I met a Swiss girl in SF who was learning English, after her Paris stint for French. I am a mountain person so totally happy here, just like my favorite place, Colorado, in America.
American expat here in CH too - for 9 years. 1 more until I can apply for citizenship. My family absolutely loves it here! If we knew we were going to stay so long we would have kept kids in the local school. But they’re in the international school and love it. And my son is thinking about going to film school in Prague. Another win!
I am French, husband American, and after over 30 years in the US, I want to return to Europe... but outside of the EU. My husband loves Europe. We are planning to move to Switzerland, around Lugano. I speak fluent French, good Italian and some German. Do you know of a good expat site for Americans living in Switzerland? Thank you!
@@GoodtoGaia Nice to hear. Good job, and hopefully Prague works out for your son.
@@stayfocused1041 Lugano in Ticino is my favorite place. My ex Swiss wife has a house in Morcote, names Switzerland`s most beautiful town some years ago. Damn it! 😄 Sorry, but I am not aware of any expat site for you to contact. I wish you all the best with that adventure, and I highly recommend it. I love Italy, France, Germany, Austria, and Lichtenstein. Great to be surrounded by them.
@@davidbalmer473 Thank you, it is very encouraging. I have checked real estate in Morcote, seems wonderful. We will most likely rent a house for a year outside of Lugano and then decide where to purchase. We like quiet and privacy, the countryside, and one of my husband's hobbies are fruit trees.
I can’t wait to go to Japan🥰 it’s been on my list for years

“BUT HAY!!!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love that part! Thank you so much for this list. I’ll have to check out these countries.
Glad you enjoyed :)
Great Video. Makes me want to travel and see more of the great countries of the World. I thought maybe New Zealand would be on the list as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. It was cool to see Ireland so high up.
I'd have thought - New Zealand as well - but I guess it's only one guys opinion....and it depends on what the criteria may be.
I used to live in NZ and can understand why it's not on the list.
- Incredibly isolated
- Few opportunities (Over 20% of New Zealanders now live in Australia)
- Relatively poor infrustructure
- Sky high drug abuse
- One of the highest domestic violence rates in the OECD
It's a great place but NZ does a great job at hiding the bad side.
@@biggiedii4889thanks for saving me from the loophole! I was almost moving to there.

Lots of crime in Auckland. Every day on my news feed I see ram raids on shops. But other than that it's a beautiful country
@@MoviesNGames007uksame can be said for many counties in the list they are not crime free. Seems this is more based on gdp.
Mostly the cost of living that's ballooned with incomes not keeping up. Is incredible in pretty much every other area other than affordability though!

Interesting! I've lived in HK since 1982 - can't complain. Surprised my home country NZ didn't show up. I have spent a lot of time in Japan - considering a move, actually - I've always felt very at home there, Kyoto & Sapporo both beautiful in very different ways - Tokyo is a blast but 10 days is about as much as I can take, same with Singapore which is a great city but a bit boring - same weather all year round. Would like to check out Ireland & Switzerland for sure! Fun video.
As someone who lives in N.Z. it is no surprise to me that we didn't make the top ten. This place is very different to what it was six years ago.
@@barrysmart2389 Could you elaborate? I'm European, but was considering moving to NZ
@@NeiNZ44 First let me say I'm an old bloke, came here as a thirteen year old in 1953 and am comfortable personally and financially. Jacinda Ardern led this country for almost six years, she was a communist in her youth and a pupil of the Carl Shwaab school for emerging leaders, a globalist.. Some things you should look up on youtube or google "An introduction to 1080poison in N.Z" "Co governance" "Maori health authority""Chinese investment/ownership in NZ". "Ram raids" The Chinese are bottling and selling our water, the same water Chris Hipkins and Ardern want to impose co-governance on?. Ardern used Covid to test how compliant we could become, she imposed mandates, banned medications which were being used successfully elsewhere and denied New Zealanders access to their own country. I was one of them, stranded in Australia for three months. Housing is very expensive and so is our cost of living. Our climate is pretty good and we are a long way from war in Europe though I see NZ is going to help the fascists in Ukraine. Sorry this has turned into a bit of a rant.
@@NeiNZ44NZ used to be really safe but the crime rate has increased significantly, the weather is pretty horrible all year round and it's super expensive to live there. I would recommend moving to Australia instead
@@packfanz2286 Where in Australia? Melbourne and Perth looks nice
Watching from Greece.hi everybody.
Being from the U.S., I have not visited most of the countries on this list, but when I visited Switzerland I thought it was the the most awesome place I ever visited. Some may be personal taste since I liked the mountains and lakes, which is why western Canada is also special. . I thought though that Switzerland was expensive, so maybe that is just the case to outsiders visiting the country?
I am Swiss, and even though I love to travel to countries all over the world, I wouldnt want to live anywhere else, because I know that no other country can offer me the same quality of living like Switzerland. But yes, it is expensive. It is okay if you live in Switzerland and earn swiss wages. But if you visit Switzerland from a country with lower wages, its really expensive.
@@swissfoodie3542 Thanks for the info. I guessed that might be the case. I still wear my Lucerne Pilatus cap given out for free when at the top of Mount Pilatus in Lucerne from 2016. I recently ran in to a person here who grew up in Swiizerland who commented on my cap. She was even from Lucerne.
@@larryloveless2967 The cap seems to be a great memory from a great trip and I hope you will enjoy it for many more years. Pilatus is beautiful, as in Luzern. Both places are quite touristy (for swiss standards), but that doesnt change the fact that they are amazing.
@@swissfoodie3542 One unexpected highlight came when the main road for our tour bus was closed for some reason so we took aa altternate toute from St. Moritz to Innsbuck through a national park and went in to the rural mouttain areas of farming with the many cows and their bells and the farmers looking so surprised to see a tour bus. This is point of view refreshing to say the least. We have been subjected to political incompetence by those who's only goal is to fester their own nests for quite some time now. Indeed there are still those that genuinely strive for success in all arenas that will benefit the good. Thank you for this assuring post and we look forward to many more.
The situation we are in now is what they (literally the governments and his officials)have been planning all along. So improve ourselves 1% each day by doing what is necessary.
The failure of Silicon Valley Bank has torn into global markets, with investors ripping up their forecasts for further rises in interest rates and dumping bank stocks around the world. I'm at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my dipping 200k stock portfolio, what's the best way to take advantage of this bear market?
@@ebonicalbert5711 The SVB situation is a reminder that Fed hikes are having an effect, even if the economy has held up so far," It's precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don't have to act on every forecast, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor
@@henrymiller_ I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having inveesting nightmare prior touching base with a advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $850k with the help of my advisor from an initial $120k investment
@@williamadams2361 .I've actually been looking into advisors lately, the news I've been seeing in the market hasn't been so encouraging, who's the person guiding you?
I prefer to live in warm weather so Australia is my first choice if I ever move.
u want warm weather go to Philippines and your sweating all day all night lol
Dahhhh I so want to get out of the US and live in Japan for a year or two. Great content!
you might get to hate it tho since
- english isn't an option meaning if you want to get anything done when it comes to documents you better know your kanji
- working from home is a concept that many still can't wrap there head around (even youtubers have issues since "youtuber" isn't viewed as a proper job in some cases)
- japan in general is still very old fashioned .... a lot of paperwork, nothing is digital, cash is necessary in basically every place, (yeah convenience is solved nice in some cases, such as puplic transport, but same can't be said about work life)
- very poor work life balance with basically no free/familytime and basically no vacationdays (and even the ones you do get aren't used most of the time because of the pressure you have at work and from colleagues that would have to shoulder your work when you're gone)
- racism against foreigners is still noticeable in japan so finding an apartment or even a job might be difficult, since it isn't very common to move around/move jobs -> they dislike foreigners since they tend to leave after a few months/years
- japan still has one of the highest suicide rates in the world because of their old fashioned work attic (for example even if you're done with work you're not allowed to go home since your boss is still working - and while waiting for him you have to look like you're busy cause that would be disrespectful as well)
The working hours are terrible and the US is probably better… The reason homelessness is not a problem is because people are working all day just to get by… Beautiful Japan is beautiful on the outside but not on the inside. After further research I no longer want to live in Japan or South Korea… Yes it’s a good place for vacation but not to live there. If you take my advice your life may be better than when you move to Japan.
@Christoph Kallab I’m from Germany I don’t live there anymore I moved to the US but your English is solid
@@nolsoup thanks I appreciate your compliment c:
as a japanese, it rly is a nice country... at least for now. life quality is great, and its quite clean almost everywhere, although as a foreigner you will probably face problems, we are notorious for our horrible engrish and racism. the work hours are hellish, no arguing with that, but its improving. honestly doe i kinda want to move to the us if i have the chance to. if you want to live for a few years it will prob be great but settling down for good... maybe nah

Beaming with pride over moving to Canada last year from the UK 😃 I'd place Finland a bit higher, love that country but while Helsinki is a great city, I prefer Tampere, a hidden European gem and would happily live there if I could master the language 🤔
Can you share your insight and experience living in both Canada and the UK? I'm considering moving to those two or the US and would appreciate some real info
We moved from the UK back in 2020! Are you based near Toronto? Seeing house prices rocket in front of our eyes has been pretty scary. We might move out to Alberta once we've finished studying :)
I'm based in Edmonton. I started out in Victoria, BC but a month later moved to Alberta as it does seem to be so much better with living costs.
@Rozhin I'm still kind of new in Canada, but from what I know so far, the people are the best. Already working with about the nicest team I've been a part of. I'm in the west part of Canada because it's close to so many beautiful mountain areas like Banff and Jasper and not too far from my fave parts of US, the PNW area. UK I find is too much hustle and bustle and while I know some lovely people, others in public can be quite rude and negative for no reason and haven't experienced any of that in Canada so far. But UK has plenty of lovely national park and beach spots in the summer and Scotland is for me the most beautiful part of the UK by far

There was a time when my country (Sweden) were on these lists, now we are somewhere around 10-15 I think. Time to bounce back and defeat those Danes.
Haha certainly could have made the list! Your crime rate is a bit higher than the other nordic countries however, and your schools are much worse on average
@@FromHeretoThere Yes, that is exactly the issue. The schools aren't bad, only a bit flawed sometimes, but the increase in crime is a bit of a humiliation. It occurs mostly between criminals in the most populated cities.
