Please don't take quotes out of context. The original question began with "if you get pushed out of a job because of automation...". Let's say you go from making 40K to being unemployed. UBI won't save your life there.
This relatively small UBI is only useful as a supplement to a job. It doesn't replace one.

Thats true, but most people that are going to suffer are unskilled laborers. Thats a big percentage, And again its how much stuff you have. If you have a boat, jetski's and an RV payment plus morgage and other things you have enslaved yourself with all of your wants. So I haven't made a RUclips comment in years but I decided I would just for this.
The Joe Rogan podcast is great and worth listening to- but Yang is at his best when he is being confronted by a skeptic and someone that is more oppositional, eg Fox News, Ben Shapiro...
He defeats opponents with his reason, intellect, patience and articulation. He does all this without attacking anyone or slinging dirt. Good policy, great ideas, vision, compassion- all based on empirical evidence with a mix of real life experience, after spending times in areas affected by automation, for example.
I live in Australia- The US and it's government affect so much of the rest of the world that honestly, it sometimes feels unfair that we have no say. We can vote for idiots in Australia and the world is barely worse off... Americans don't have that luxury. Take your responsibility seriously and vote for Andrew Yang.

Millions of Americans will leave the work force. 24k, tax free, for a couple without any work related expenses. People can live off of that outside of the city. Then what? We will need more illegal immigrants to do the work. So we will have millions of working poor who have to pay the VAT and will not get the UBI. Good for us bad for them. @@andrewbailey1540 Andrew I'm also going to add my 2 cents because most people don't get it the first time when dividing into a complicated subject like this. Andrew Yang is proposing a VAT (Value added tax) on all Tech companies that has the most to gain with Automation and AI. This is going to prevent companies like Amazon, Google, Netflix, and Tesla, ETC... from getting away with not paying Federal income tax. This will effectively close that tax loop hole. Secondly, we already pay a better part of a trillion dollars already to welfare programs like Social security, WAP, Section 8 housing, and so on and so forth. This proposed Freedom dividend will not be added on top of what those people are getting but they will have the option to switch over. Effectively, this will get rid of the Welfare state. I have done the research and this UBI or Freedom Dividend idea is pure gold. The backend benefits that will impact our society is tremendous. I encourage you to research Andrew Yang and his ideas. I can honestly say I'm hooked, and now obsessed with helping this beautiful man get into the White House. Please do your research and you'll come to the realization as I did, that this vision of the future is what America is all about. Join the YangGang!

      @@andrewbailey1540 www.yang2020.com/what-is-ubi/
How would we pay for Universal Basic Income?
It would be easier than you might think. Andrew proposes funding UBI by consolidating some welfare programs and implementing a Value-Added Tax (VAT) of 10%. Current welfare and social program beneficiaries would be given a choice between their current benefits or $1,000 cash unconditionally - most would prefer cash with no restriction.
A Value-Added Tax (VAT) is a tax on the production of goods or services a business produces. It is a fair tax and it makes it much harder for large corporations, who are experts at hiding profits and income, to avoid paying their fair share. A VAT is nothing new. 160 out of 193 countries in the world already have a Value-Added Tax or something similar, including all of Europe which has an average VAT of 20 percent.
The means to pay for a Universal Basic Income will come from 4 sources:
      1. Current spending. We currently spend between $500 and $600 billion a year on welfare programs, food stamps, disability and the like. This reduces the cost of Universal Basic Income because people already receiving benefits would have a choice but would be ineligible to receive the full $1,000 in addition to current benefits.
      2. A VAT. Our economy is now incredibly vast at $19 trillion, up $4 trillion in the last 10 years alone. A VAT at half the European level would generate $800 billion in new revenue. A VAT will become more and more important as technology improves because you cannot collect income tax from robots or software.
      3. New revenue. Putting money into the hands of American consumers would grow the economy. The Roosevelt Institute projected that the economy would grow by approximately $2.5 trillion and create 4.6 million new jobs. This would generate approximately $500 - 600 billion in new revenue from economic growth and activity.
      4. We currently spend over one trillion dollars on health care, incarceration, homelessness services and the like. We would save $100 - 200 billion as people would take better care of themselves and avoid the emergency room, jail, and the street and would generally be more functional. Universal Basic Income would pay for itself by helping people avoid our institutions, which is when our costs shoot up. Some studies have shown that $1 to a poor parent will result in as much as $7 in cost-savings and economic growth.

      ruclips.net/video/sy5PMRPvc5Q/видео.html
Its up for debate of course, but it makes sense, since China has a longer history as well as technology. Check this out:
      ruclips.net/video/XC-R4SsXRHk/видео.html
Not to mention Native Americans having ties to the Mongoloid race. So its pretty possible the first settlers were Asians given the level of civilization. But much credit goes to both Black and White folks though, since they help built the system.

Inflation helps those who have risk assets and eats away at those that dont. The poor doesnt have risk assets... the rich do... And the most inflation will come in necessities. Seriously this is econ 101. need proof.. What has the Fed done for 10 years. QW1,2,3 Operation Twist ZIRP etc.... to create inflation and its not a coincidence that the wealth divide exploded over the last 10 years. This is the same thing, dont be so naive. And if you are going to argue this point than you need provide just one instance in all of history that shows inflation helps the poor more than it does the rich and also proof that spending via adding more liquidity into the system is deflationary.
