- In this video I send in some failing Monster Cables and see if they stand behind their warranty.
Do not send in any cables without a proper RMA.
I send in a Monster Bass cable and 2 Monster Rock cables, watch to see if we get anything in return.
There is a lot of hype surrounding audio cables. Any quality cable will work fine. But one thing that is not hype is a company who stands behind their products and customers.

Monster has the poorest warranty procedures and WILL Rip you off. I called, received an RMA for a high dollar nice quality Studio Pro 1000 Instrument cable used for recording. They sent back a bass guitar cable. I contacted them about the situation. They said "prove it," that a Studio Pro 1000 was what I sent to them. Then they said, send us your purchase receipt from years back. ..........
I'f I had known that they were going to rip me off, I would have cut off and replaced the failed end, because the cable had hardly been used and it was just the connector that failed. ..........
I still have the unopened bass cable in it's package laying in the bottom of my signal cable box. ..........
that sucks. for me they have been pretty good. but it is kind of a pain to return and hope you get the right cables back.
You got lucky, I see this was back in 2014. I emailed them 2x, after Guitar Center said they do not deal with Monster any longer, and I have not yet received a reply to say the least in11/21. So I will say, its a "musical chair" sorta scenario, some get helped, some do not. I too began having that screeching noise 1/2" after the straight plug, which pretty much means that area has been bent hanging off the amp and has lost its function at that point. Being that I am not going to count on Monster's warranty for help, I went ahead and ordered two Neutrik Silent angle plugs, so I can cut an 1-1/2" off cable end and solder new plugs on. Then again, I ordered 16' Mogami w2524 cable and two Neutrik silent angle plugs to build a new cable. Won't Ever buy monster cables again, nor recommend them.
To Recap, Monster finally emailed me after 3mo, asking me if I could provide a receipt? I told them it was true what's been circulating about Monster becoming unreliable, and that I did not know where if I had it.. they didn't reply. What I actually did, was cut off the two tips, bought 2 Neutrik plugs, one angle, one straight and soldered them to the cable. In the process, I did notice the inner copper wire had oxidation. And this cable was supposed to be Anti-oxyen or oxygen free.. phuii.. I scraped wire with sandpaper to bring the gold shine out and then soldered it. No more monster cables for me. I also bought 16ft of mogami 2524 and the neutrik angle plugs and spent $23 for a $75 cable.
I tried to contact Monster recently to no avail. They don’t respond to emails and all numbers are out of order. Now I’m stuck with a bunch of cables I can’t return.Any suggestions?
Not sure man. That sucks. Perhaps they changed their policy since this video.

Have you tried contacting them on Twitter or something? Sometimes that will work.
Yes me too I had to give up even with proof off delivery with proof of purchase and still got screwed by monster cable company they are tge worse and like you said the phone number they have all over their cables don't work
I'm not buying this stupid cables worthless no warranty at all
That was in 2014... 2019... Bad cable and no customer service phone number. No reply from them via email for RMI... and no warranty. I'm inclined to just get a neutrik silent plug and fix the thing myself. Might be cheaper than mailing the cable back to a company that seems no longer to care.
Monster sucks. Only warranty cables purchased through their store. Every monstersuck cable I have received have ALWAYS failed due to poorly soldered connections to terminals.
Did you provide them with the original receipt for the cables? Years ago when I purchased the cables, I was told any dealer, any time, any cable. Now the local Guitar Center wants the original receipt.
loopie007 yeah idk cause most receipts don't last 11years .... I know if you coppied them the coppied show the receipt info ..... but again
most receipts do not stay intact for 11years....i have some broken RCAS that I paid $140 each for for car audio but idk where my receipt is-I also bought it from ultimate electronics
But lmk brotha!
Moster sucks anyone reading this don't buy Monster its a scam and they make it as difficylt as possible for you to replace the cable.
@@Jenniferab32 100% It's changed a LOT since this video
I think their about out of business now. They do not answer phones or emails anymore.

2020 on their website everything is sold out
I don't buy them anymore. Guitar Center in Denver will not take them back to the store!
do they stand behind their products...read this then you decide. i sent them cables for warranty (and yes i had an rma) they rec'd them on jan 11/18. nothing happened. after many attempts i finally spoke to someone on the phone on apr. 13th. they said my cable had gone to the wrong dept. the replacement would be sent out on apr. 16th or 17th. as of today (june 1st) i have rec'd nothing. i have been on hold for over an hour now. so i sent them another email while i was waiting. almost 6 months to the day now....
I have had SIX Monster cables fail on me. That's like 80% of the Monster cables I've purchased. Is it really worthwhile to buy a premium cable that's almost certain to fail simply because it will be replaced when it (inevitably) does fail? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to buy a more reliable cable? Especially if you're in a time-critical business like live performance or recording? Paying a premium for shit isn't a good use of either time or money. "Hey, we sell crap at a high price, but we'll give you more crap free when it fails" is not a compelling sales pitch.
It seems the RMA is quite important. But did you explain what the RMA is? Maybe I missed it.
Two things crack me up about this topic, people complaining over the price of Monster Cable and, those who say cables don't sound different. I worked music retail for years and saw that you can buy cheaper cable but you'll save money by buying the better cable. Buy the cheap Hosa crap and you'll have to replace it in a fairly short amount of time BUT, spend a little more on Monster, ProCo or Mogami and you'll get superior cable that you only have to buy once because, in the unlikely event one of them breaks, they'll ship you a new one, and it'll sound better. Heres a true story about the sound of cables. My studio is wired with Mogami and some monster cable but, ignoring my own advice, I bought a cheap LiveWire XLR cable for a compressor I had just bought. When I hooked it up I thought the compressor was broken because the bass frequencies were non existent. I decided to try another XLR and the bass returned,,, WTH? I went back to the LiveWire and the bass was indeed gone. Out of curiosity I ran test tones and metered the LiveWire. To my surprise not only had the bass frequencies been attenuated, the high frequencies were boosted! Again, WTH? Somehow an odd fault in the LiveWire had caused it to act similar to a crossover and rolled off all bass frequencies and apparently use those energies to boost the high frequencies levels. Afterwards I decided to meter many of my cables and found that some of the attributes my clients and I had heard in various cables could actually be metered. The various Monster Cables types lie their Bass, Jazz, Rock and Series 1000 instrument cables sounded different from one another and sounded way different than those by George L. Once again, the musicians said exactly what I had noticed. The only thing I can figure the would cause the "sound" differences that certain cables exhibited is due to multicore windings and the insulation types letting them phase align the highs to the lows and "tune" a cable balance of frequencies. Sounds nutty I know.
I have monster cables they are crap as a mater of fact most of them failed. As apposed to LiveWire which never fails and if they do u can replace them easily at GC. Stay away from Monster its a shit product and the warranty is for shit.
Monster is awesome! I returned a monster rock and they shipped me a monster studio!!!!
Belden is far superior, Monster sucks.
You are lucky because you live in america. What about world warranty, do you know if they cover?
These cables fail so frequently it isn't worth considering. They're overpriced crap. This guy sent three back. I have 6 of 8 that failed. The cables that haven't failed have had the outer covering erode away, exposing bare wire, which is a failure that just hasn't happened yet. Why bother? Get a Sweetwater private label cable for a quarter of the cost. They never fail.
2020 on their website everything is Sold Out!
that's weird...
Why wouldn't they stand behind their warranty? They are selling $5 cables at 20 times the actual price.
Still very important though.
I'd rather spend a little more than buy some cheaper cable and have crappy customer support.
tom11zz884 Why would you need customer support for a CABLE?
Do you insist on customer support for an extension cord?
Look, if you bought a monster cable for 20x the price of a standard cable, you're an idiot. You don't _deserve_ customer support, but at the same time, I just realized why an idiot would need customer support for a CABLE.
fuzzywzhe Your comment was that of an idiot...lol
There is customer support for everything item you buy idiot, that is why they call it customer support,,if your item goes bad, you call them and tell them the issue and they fix it, or send you a replacement...Understand now dooofus?
tom11zz884 *"There is customer support for everything item you buy idiot, that is why they call it customer support,,"*
I can guarantee there isn't. How do I get customer support for gasoline, underwear, and AA batteries?
I use monster HDMI cables and their are great for my tvs. i have used other cables but they were terrible. i rather used the best. yes monster do stand behind their warrenty. you don't need a video review for this
aundra lambert no they don’t. They’re trash and high priced.
