Unlikely. If he knew how much of a boost ss3 gives goku, he wouldn't wager the Majin boost could equal that. He used that boost just to close the gap between him and goku while in the same form, throw another transformation ontop goku that's 4x times what he were and Vegeta likely wouldn't bother.

Indeed so. That transformation in itself was rough and time consuming by itself. Even if his fight vs Vegeta in this form would have been just half the time it was used vs buu, he would have run out of time before he could play for time, much less teach the kids fusion. So even winning quickly he'd lose. And for those who think it would be enough to keep buu from hatching, it wouldn't. Just them being SS2 did quite a bit to secure buus release. Goku going ss3 would secure it aswell due to the sheer amount of energy coming off of him just by using it. It would have made up the difference I'm sure had Vegeta not also gone ss2. So the energy levels wouldn't lessen by any relevant degree. So him not going SS3 did more to save the ark than using it ever could. 💁♂️
Buu would have been free to rampage as there would be no fusion to fight him, his friendship and turn to Super buu would still happen but not having gotenks to occupy him while he waited for Gohan would have him destroy the planet sooner and seek him out directly on the kais planet. Interrupting the ritual before its completed and fight a stronger but not fully ultimate Gohan, who now would be the one with the disadvantage in power, similar to the buutenks fight in some ways but rawer since buu wouldn't have Piccolo's intellect to grant him finess, having seen no need to absorb him as in the original story. Buu would lower the rating of the universe so fast that I doubt beerus would have the time to wake up before Zeno decided to erase what was left, buu along with it.
One misconception: SSJ only requires intense emotion, like rage, to be achieved once. It isn’t required once one’s able to access the form easily. This is seen in the manga and anime. Also, being angry doesn’t make you evil.

Goku could actually have evil in his heart I mean like when goku was a kid he got sent to earth at that time he had evil in his heart due to being a saiyan but we thought he lost his saiyan memories when he hit his head but that probably wouldn’t have erased all the evil so he could still have some in him
There's no evil in his memories though, so restoring the wilder side he lost wouldn't make him malicious. So the spell would still fail unless he voluntarily allowed it to control him purely for the boost in power.
Same as with Vegeta. Who also could choose to go against the spell whenever he choose to but only struggled abit for genuinely holding some evil still in his heart. When goku would choose to no longer be controlled the spell would have nothing to hold onto other than his goodwill and the spell breaks as easily as Babidi's neck would.
It's possible the spell wouldn't be able to pull out any additional powers of Goku's though as it's possible that it necessarily uses the evil as the medium through which it pulls out that power. So in Goku's case, where he merely allows it to happen it might just be superficial since there's nothing to work with or hold onto in Goku's heart. Hence why the spell/Babidi wouldn't be able to fight Goku's will at all at that point, if he choose to ignore and break it. 💁♂️
I mean- the spirit bomb does require someone pure of heart to use, but notice how Goku always reverts to base when charging it. The “he can turn super sayian and push the spirit bomb” argument doesn’t make sense because Kid Buu could also push it back and I’m pretty sure that he is the furthest thing from ‘pure of heart’.

No he wouldn’t. He was still able to have fights with both Vegeta and Buu before he had to go back to the other world. Normal Goku was already the strongest out of the trio in SSJ2 when they confronted Babidi. Give him the majin boost and SSJ3 on top of that and he would be able to kill everyone long before he has to worry about going back to the other world.
In the original dragon ball they kind of foreshadow that exact moment when Goku fights with Baba's demon. This is where he is stated to have a truly pure heart

If Goku was in a ssj transformation, babidi could maybe control Goku, since 1st of all ssj requires rage to he unlocked and 2nd in budokai tenkaichi 3 characters that can control evil ppl can't control base Goku but they can use it on ssj1 2 and 3. (don't ask me which characters can I saw it in a fun Fact vid)
His forms don't possess the need of anger anymore or at least no form of anger stays when in the form because as we've seen in the story goku and gohan had stayed in their mastered state of super saiyan and perfected it to it's smallest detail and we can see this when we first see them leave the chamber by the fact that they're completely calm instead of having a angry tint and I believe that this was explain or at least told in the story and either way they did get rid of any ill intent the transformation brings in SSJ so I'd assume Goku and Vegeta would do the same with SSJ2 and SSJ3

I think you are mislead. Babidis mind control doesnt unlock their latent power it just makes them stronger. Vegeta just needed that little push from it to match Gokus SSJ2 power. Elder Kais dance is what unlocks latent potential. This is why Gohan became so powerful because at the time he had the most potential to become more powerful. Even more than Goku who we see acknowledges that after his fight with Buu that SSJ3 is the absolute maximum of his ability and he was sure he could not get any stronger than that. Its also why Elder Kai doesnt use his dance on Goku because he had already achieve the max potential of his strength at the time.

1. Killed a whole army
2. Gave a namekian PTSD and made him join him for no.3
3. Killed his own brother, one could argue "BuT pIcCoLo UsEd ThE mOvE tHaT kIlLeD hIs BrOtHeR" but Goku had the idea to sacrifice his life to kill his own brother
4. Broke a man who was only following orders and instead of ending his suffering, threw him to his commander.. made him unable to move, and made his commander kill him
5. Slapped Frieza so hard even I felt it, now that's truly evil.
6. Decided not to take the heart virus medicine, it's evil because he is trying to leave his family.
7. Trained Gohan even though he doesn't like to fight, gives up MID-TOURNEY, and sends in his only son after neglecting a promise to not have gohan fight
And lastly
8. Killed his own mentor, one of the people who are one of his own race, and a bug because he decided not to teleport to another planet with little life.
that doesn't make Goku's heart evil, plus so many of these he didn't do on purpose or was self-defense

Even if Goku turned Super Saiyan I don't think it could work. The spirit bomb requires a pure heart and goku transformed into ssj while doing it in the buu saga so SSJ goku is still pure. I don't know if either ssj doesn't make you unpure or Goku's mastery of the form (cell saga) allows him to retain pureness.

Well goku would need to USE super Saiyan 3 In the first place, remember just because you HAVE the form doesn’t mean you can’t go all out in a lower transformation. People actually misunderstand this a lot with the majin vegeta fight. Goku was going ALL OUT in super saiyan 2, ALL he held back was the super saiyan 3 form. Just because he has a higher form DOESNT mean he can use said power in a LOWER form, he was going all out in super saiyan 2 agaisnt majin vegeta. Also. The only way for goku’s increased power to be of any use to babadi is that he’d be able to beat down on a super Saiyan 2 vegeta who without the majin boost was already weaker than goku. Remember. Babadi collects the ki through the damage that the majin user deals to their opponent.
Well, it would be a reach, but they could have justified it with something like "As a Saiyan, there is a small amount of malice deep in his heart inherently" or some such.
Well here’s the thing though. Vegeta didn’t get manipulated, he played Babidi actually just so he can get that boost in power. He only allowed it just for that main reason, he never took orders from Babidi or anything. Vegeta knew exactly what he was doing just so he can “catch up” to Goku 😂 and even if Babidi tried to manipulate, and take control over Goku. It just wouldn’t work at all cause he won’t find any evil in Goku’s heart. There’s a big difference between rage and being evil, buuuhhh if Goku didn’t hit his head as a baby then it would’ve worked then 😂 or maybe Goku Black lmao

Honestly a Majin ssj3 Goku vs ultimate Gohan would be a good fight, it really depends on how much latent potential Goku has or the Majin boost cures the strain off ssj3 with the power boost it provides. So power vs experience.

It doesn’t work, ultimate Gohan is already at his maximum potential. He can’t get stronger unless he train. Majin buff only allow one to access more potential from the dark side.
Majin Gohan would probably stronger than Majin Vegeta. It’s not the same percentage boost, it’s a boost to unlock one potential. 3 years old Gohan surpass Goku and Picolo reading during Radit fight. Vegeta potential is always lacking compare to Goku in Z.

Goku can't be controlled as a super saiyan since in the cell saga him and Gohan learned to go super saiyan without rage.
It's still with rage, but it's so miniscule it causes no ill effects on their minds and would offer no purchase for the spell to grasp onto. We know this because king Kai said that super saiyan still makes goku impure thus he can't summon the genki dama in any such form but in base. While the explanation is from movie 5? I think(It's the one with the three Androids)
It's still confirmed through action in the buu saga aswell as in Super. He always goes into base then push with a super saiyan form after it is formed. not counting all the official games where the technique is treated the same. 💁♂️
Hence why it's possible to knock them out of the state. They require a minimum amount of rage in conjunction with those s cell to trigger the state, and then their mind needs to hold on to that trigger continuesly. With their training their subconscious mind is enough to hold on to that feeling of rage which is now minimal enough not to cause strain or issue. But if knocked down significantly hard enough even their subconscious mind can let go of the trigger which causes the form to go out even when the body itself has enough energy and stamina in and off itself to maintain the state.

I love how Babidi was able to unlock Vegeta’s latent power to make him SS2, while Shenron is able to use Guru’s ability to unlock piccolo’s latent powers and make him go from useless to on the same level as SS Blue.
