Website Designer here! Web design is not a simple task and can be a bit much at times but I LOVE IT actually. To me it’s a fun way to be extremely creative. Although, the rough times are dealing with clients who prefer easy platforms that would essentially be VERY limiting to the designer 😭 THAT PART IS THE STRUGGLE! For me , I’ve solely made WordPress my focus. When I first started web design , everybody came wanted a redesign on platforms I had no idea existed and quickly I realized how draining it is being a website designer with no set platform that you specialize in. That is EXACTLY what I envision it for!! The client ask as far as capabilities rarely matches the platform they want to be on. I get it, hiring for web maintenance is an extra expense, but we gotta pick & choose! Lol This definitelyyyy makes it easier to do it all. I like Wordpress as well! Clients did not. 😂
I'm a Squarespace girlie, but I'm impressed by the simplicity of the Wix interface and features. Masking?!? You're also showing the value of having a DESIGNER helm the creative of your website design - there's so much more that goes into website besides throwing up photos and text, and this is legit. Love it.
i was/am a wix girlie! and just like you, i don't do it "loudly" because of the work and lack of budget but it's also one of my most expensive services! definitely lucrative

I agree sometimes I turn down jobs cuz the amount of content you have to create for the website doesn't equal to what people are willing to pay
