Stomp and Roar are doing most of the work to make Rhino awesome in Steel Path. Iron Skin is viable for tanking, but whatever amount enemies can add to it in 3 seconds it logically stands that they can also delete in 3 seconds. You need to be on point with the CC/Reinforcing Stomp to make it all worthwhile.
If you stand still for 3 seconds(and in that 3 seconds your threat level is highered, meaning enemies will focus on you more) you take more damage than AFTER the 3s(you move around, you kill stuff, your threat level is lowered back to default so enemies focus less on you) and im not even talking about how you can specifically Target your ironskin cast for when you KNOW theres an enemy that's about to cast a high-damage ability like a blitz eximus, or even an acolyte, making it incredibly easy especially if you know what you're doing and not just casting ironskin as soon as you enter the mission.
@@MythicqI Yeah but this point makes the revenant argument weird. If you cast mesmer skin enemies have to hit you for X amount of times vs having millions of overguard that gets removed by a few stray bullets at level cap

Ill add onto this that yes break points exists but in high level specifically, Rhino cant out compete revenant. in 2:22 specifically in seconds 2 mil gets deleted. With revenant however 17 mil just equates to 17 Mesmer skin or lower. Which is low af for most revenant players hovering around 25+ because of a subsume scaling with strength(Pillage,roar,eclipse,Xata). There is also the fact that Stomp is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. 90% of it in fact you showcased how you're tanking level cap attacks but that's from 1-2 enemies. If stomp wasn't active the 3 seconds of Invul would always equate to 3 seconds of health or added 3-5 seconds with parkour/blitz/toxin. As much as this is an Iron Skin showcase, this seems to emphasize that his tanking comes more from his own CC. Being the wide area stomp or other sources. I think some showcased it best without any CC, where it gets deleted in seconds making it practically just rolling guard with energy. Hah and they say CC is dead in the water, this is mostly my theory but the reason why people say stuff about Iron skin is because they isolate it from the rest of his kit. Because when people think of tanking it's usually not freezing half the room and making them unable to do anything. They will only think of Iron skin and Mesmer skin alone from the rest of the kit.
Revenant doesn't need anything but strength (and some duration if you use Thrall Pact). Mesmer Skin also has Mesmer Shield which nullifies all the bosses in the game for the whole team and gives free stacks. You can Helminth Roar onto Revenant and then use Thrall Pact for even more damage (for primary weapons). Mesmer Skin at 400% strength has 24 stacks, complete invulnerability against infinite enemy shots per 1 second for 24 seconds, at the bare minimum. This is not the whole picture, Mesmer Skin also stuns every non-boss and non-overguard enemy for X seconds when a stack is consumed, so the same enemy will not hit twice for a very long time.
Rhino is like Gauss (ironically) Not weird mechanics Not random things, no "you have to do this to do maximun damage" You get buff, you get tanky, you have crowd control, with some things behind it, thats it, have fun
Also if you put on the piercing roar augment with moderate-high duration and moderate efficiency, and moderate range and stack power str through other means you can instant full proc an 80% reduction to the outgoing damage of enemies basically increasing the value of your overguard drastically compared to what they fed into it originally. Very easy on demand enemy damage nerfing, works against overguard enemies too excluding piercing roars knockdown.
It’s just level capped enemies doing insane amounts of damage being multiplied by the invulnerability window of iron skin at the start You won’t see these huge numbers until go deep into steel path but also keep in mind iron scales with level the amount is only relevant to the enemies your are fighting

You want to put Umbral Intensify, but which mod would you replace? Augur Reach, I presume? Also I have another question: At high level, you get slammed on your arse often, because you don't have Prime Sure Footed in your Exilus. Do you still cope well with that problem?
Also remember if you need million damage to fill iron skin, the enemy will also had a chance to depleted it faster especially if you face eximus stonghold.
Sooo isn't Nezha able to tank just the same? The difference being that you can't use roar on Nezha by default but that's pretty much it, you can still impale people tho
I had to check the wiki, but it looks like warding halo only absorbs 90% of the damage dealt to Nezha. For the majority of the game, this wouldn't be noticeable but against enemies high enough in level to produce iron skin values that high, 90% damage absorption probably won't be enough.
@@masterhand1998 Nezha already had 300 armor combine that with adaptation you had 98% Damage reduction. Plus his chakram can generate health orb (energy too if you use equilibrium) make him a both status tank and health tank. Also to fill million iron skin you need to get million damage from enemy that also made your iron skin depleted faster. It's zero sum game
@@masterhand1998 i was about to answer the same as he did, yes, you absorb a percentage of damage, but you can strongly mitigate a lot of it, you just need some HP and Armor, an umbral Nezha would do really great for that matter, if you for some reason combine that with Gloom, you're immortal, if you don't because that's too cheap tbh, then you could use a CC skill instead, if you want to keep the full kit (for some reason fire walking is a skill) then you could technically do well enough, also, you can use fury or hinter adrenaline with Nezha to keep your MP full all the time thanks to that, also arcane avenger

There is a LARGE difference between the tankiness of rhino and revenant. One is constant and requires 0 situational awareness or action. Mesmera skin being 1:1 means that it's always going to break at an extremely slow rate regardless of level so you never have to change your rhythm of gameplay or worry about anything at all. Also, you'll always have your maximum tankiness regardless of enemies shooting at you or not. Rhino on the other hand requires you to stand around soaking damage, something difficult when your squad members are running around bombing everything. Additionally, if you get unlucky, you often times won't build up a strong enough amount of iron skin to tank everything for 10 years (while playing normally) washout having to refresh a single time. This is fine normally, but if your maximum overguard health isn't enough, when an acolyte spawns and you're caught off guard or anything that hits extremely hard has scaled to a high level, you must be careful because it's very easy for said high damage source to instantly nuke your iron skin faster than you can replenish it. Let's say an acolyte spawns for example and hits you. Even at base steel path, your ~10-20k overguard from standing around and soaking damage (after casting iron skin for 3s) will get INSTANTLY nuked unless you lockdown the acolyte immediately and kill him immediately. This leaves you vulnerable if you aren't running rolling guard of psf, and requires another 3s of standing around to rebuild iron skin. If you do eliminate high damage sources immediately because you have good weapons and are paying attention, then it's fine. However, let's be honest, most warframe players aren't paying attention 100% of the time. Therefore, revenant is still a superior tank because you never have to stand around, and you never even have to pay attention to high damage sources breaking your tankiness.
yes you are correct, but to correct some of your points: If the players are killing everything then you do not need a high ironskin, and even if suddenly for example you get host migrated just recast or if you aren't using the augment stand still while spamming 2, you will be immune and get the ironskin you want, also obviously rhino requires more skill than a warframe as braindead as revenant, but the type of "tanking" rhino does always depends on the environment, the enemies, your squad, how good you are etc, rhino is harder than rev but incredibly easy compared to many other warframes, and stomp stops acolytes so ur always good even against violence if you cast in time

It's extremely important to note that you must cast iron skin before nourish, as nourish staggers enemies when they hit you

I've been using nezha a lot in SP and I gotta say his tanking is also pretty good
Not to mention crowd control, orb Spawn, debuffs and cleansing status effects

How do you get 20 million iron skin tho? You dont even use ironclad charge, how do you multiply so much iron skin? Is it a bug with rolling guard?

Would Azure armor shards work better? From my testing Iron skin is more influenced by Rhino’s armor value than his power strength

Use iron skin on jade eximus. Easier to get 3M plus

Just stunlock the acolyte with stomp. You can even stun archons with stomp. Stomp is the main ingredient in rhinos survivability imo

You have Stomp, which is the only CC that stuns everything as a get out of jail card

Rhino has a stomp that can stun lock acolytes, demolists, archons, eximus. Rev doesnt have it
