A weapon that was once considered below average and didn't even hold a candle to the other powerhouses like Nukor and Cycron is now on a resurgence spree. I know it’s a reasonable change but I’m still mad to see you switch tentacles with ensnare for Hydroid lol; anyways great video and thank you for explaining the weapon’s strengths. I had a guy tell me about how good the ocucor was and I didn’t know what was so good about it until I ran it and then saw the true beauty on Hydroid and now I sunk an umbrella forma on hydroid.
I forgot to change it I was testing a build and didn’t like it

I've ALWAYS been an explosive spam = max killing speed proponent, but damn, the Torid and Ocucor are pushing what beams can be.
Currently... These two are my favorite weapons alongside Latron, Torid is the main weapon on most my frames, Ocucor also is when it's enabled or up against unarmored. This definitely helped me immediately love reworked Hydroid.
Although sentient barrage is powerful and fixes the ocucor's issues it's mostly broken because of armor strips mainly from hydroid. so there shouldn't be a reason for DE to look into a nerf for it when other weapons can have the exact potential or greater
and now green shards allow it to be broken on all frames which is almost too awesome

If you could do these videos with a full build(s) that you use they would be better than anyone else out there. Keep it up 👍🏻
You can actually use one cc mod, augment and arcane avenger to push crit over 100%, and due to its radiation base nature, you can mod corr heat, slap in nourish and due to the nature of beams generally favors roar more, you can actually make this weapon into a near 160kpm monster.
(Man, viral corr rad heat punc on one weapon, armor does not exist at this point)
(Nourish roar + arcane avenger rhino, 199str)
Used this frequently even before augment is a thing, after augment it is just 28m Pocket mesa with no more downsides previously mentioned.
Plus, pillage roar with this, is almost very illegal.

I had a 6 Forma Ocucor build with Holster reload before Sentient Surge was even an idea and it’s only gotten better
ngl I don't think hydroid is over tuned he's just easier to play than other builds. my gyre pillage can strip an entire maps full of enemies, anyone with nekros terrify can do the same. hydroid strip is slower then the instant button press but he doesn't need to press a button he just does it.

Torid, Ocucor, Tiburon Prime, Bolto, Harpak, Ogris, and the Lato Vandal are my favorite weapons with the Gotva Prime quickly being added to the list.
The Ocucor is quite interesting and I wish DE would create more weapon specific mods.
That first kill can be a bit of a pain in the ass yo get in public lobbies. Once you get it though the chain reaction kicks in and you start shredding
Usually i do it with Voidstrike, works pretty good.
Whole map Nuking is only good for solo playing. Pubs nuking is camping in one room with other players.
I'm 8 forma and a riven into the ocucor and have been singing its praises for actual years
It has always been an incredible weapon and if Sentient Surge did any ONE of its 3 effects it would be an auto-install

Can you tell me the mods you run on it? Ive got a riven with +crit dmg,dmg and -impact so if you could also include that it would be nice.

It's the best lazy-mode weapon in my arsenal and i hope that DE will not nerf it.
It is an issue tho when your team mates don't even get a single kill because you zoom around the map and everything falls over by just being in your vicinity.

As a Cycron fan (so far my only rank 40 weapon), I can clearly see the chaining does not have the range the occucor does. Seriously, watching this makes me wanna drop the cycron for the occucor for the short time it's op.

Off topic but anyone find it funny the whole reason that the orikin used warframes and ballistic based weaponry was because the sentients would just interface with and abuse their higher powered technology?

Ocucor is also really good when comparing the standard corrosive heat build with a frame that has viral damage from nourish, Ocucor also really works well with cirtrine 3rd abilities to apply more status when applying one.
